Find Best Price at Amazon"I didnt realize that until after I accepted the package from my mail carrier.Upon inspection of the manifold I noticed like many others have noted in their reviews the plenum on the intake was indeed smaller,(more on that later) I also noticed that the BLUE water Jacket gasket, (driver side, rear) was MISSING.I called amazon service dept. While I had the top half torn down I replaced all the spark plugs,boots,springs, dielectric grease all electrical connections etc. Now as other reviewers have stated in their concerns about POWER LOSS with the "updated" intake manifold plenum Being to small. That concern is not lost with me, in fact it is a very VALID POINT.The motor is NOT as "punchy" off the start and DOES NOT pull as hard as it used to when you put your foot in it to her going. I have a full size truck and I want/need that power, The only upside is my fuel economy has increased but im towing, hauling, etc. The plenum IS smaller so be aware that you will lose power but your fuel economy will increase. 4.the self tapping screws suck, but if you are looking for inexpensive fix this is part!"
"I purchased this intake for my 2003 5.4 Expedition Eddie Bauer, along with injectors, water pump and new coils. I did have to tap one of the plastic screw holes to swap the mounting ball for the engine cover."

Find Best Price at Amazon"#1, one of the studs as pictured in the photo that attaches to the throttle body inlet was bent, and threads were a little weird. I used a heat gun to soften the assembly up a little and massaged it to get it to fit a lot better and close to being correct as it was designed for. Some times they go "Offshore" for a while and then bring the jobs back home when it obviously doesn't work out when the quality goes way down and they start losing customers and their bottom line!!!! And yes I did replace the lower intake manifold gasket with the Magnum premium set & the Dorman Heater hose aluminum fittings , they were perfect.... Goodluck..."

"BEFORE you put the plenum on the engine take some time to install this vacuum neck. Be careful as you torque it down so the bolt doesn't sit on top of the ridge around the hole & you break it."

Install a new Dorman intake, which comes with the new gasket as well as all of the various parts you'll need to replace it, and be done with the problem permanently."
"Then that was not enough the new intake was so much thicker which is good but not when i had to hacksaw part of my alternator bracket off to get it to seat with out forcing the the intake underneath the bracket which would ruin my new gasket so after i did that the intake would sit right on the lower intake with no interference after wasting a good share of the day i got it installed so far so good Dorman i think you can design better than this."

Find Best Price at Amazon"The item comes pre-assembled, with the aluminum coolant jacket bolted onto the manifold. Dorman committed a huge oversight in not providing torque specs for the two bolts holding on the aluminum piece (they do provide torque specs for the manifold bolts). For good measure you may also want to use sealant around the two rear coolant gaskets (all four coolant gaskets are blue rubber, while the fuel intake gaskets are orange rubber). I also bought a cheaper no-name version of this product on Amazon, but returned it because while it did appear to fit properly, on close inspection it was a very poor fit: looking down into the injector ports I could see that they were severely misaligned."
"I ended up using a #14 x 1.5" sheet metal screw for the 5th attachment point of the throttle body, and an m6 x 25mm self tapping screw with a 5mm thick washer (not enough m6 x 20mm screws were included) for the cable bracket that is bolted to the throttle body."

Find Best Price at Amazon"The product is made well and I would give it 5stars but there is a issue......the conical boring of the metal has produced a narrow gap at the very end of the nut travel and this gap pushes a socket up and binds it giving the effect of a tight nut when in fact its still a 1/4 to 1/2 turn off....its weird but I have seen this before and the solution is a thin wall socket deep and a torque wrench (i did100) if you wrench them down and don't have a complete face to face mate (look at the area that should be flat to flat and inspect."
