The headlights were to a point where I barley even wanted to drive at night because I had a small blob of light MAYBE 20 feet in front of me, not even. I am very pleases with this product, and if it only lasts a couple months, then so be it. On another side note, my mom was so amazed by how well it worked she made me go buy another kit and clean her headlights too!"
"I bought the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit after reading a positive review in Consumer Reports. I am amazed how clear the headlights on my 10 year old Honda look after using it. The paper will also tend to roll on you while sanding, which starts to get a little annoying. I would recommend rinsing once or twice during the first sanding to clean off the residue and help you gauge your progress. Don't be alarmed how hazy the lens looks before putting on the UV Clear Coat. REALLY, REALLY TAKE YOUR TIME APPLYING THE UV CLEAR COAT! This is especially true on a car that may not be totally smooth across the whole lens (there's a raised area on my highlights for the parking lights). The clear coat seemed to collect a little unevenly around the raised area. Even if the product only lasts a year, the results are still pretty good for the price!"
"Obviously I enjoy it because it is a sports car, but at the time, one of the coolest things to me were the headlights. They aren't like they used to be (my dad's Ford Aerostar and my mom's Chevrolet Corsica had glass headlights). What many people don't know is that your plastic headlights, when you buy the car off the lot, actually have a clear coat on them that provides UV protection. Over time this clearcoat wears down due to various elements, chemicals, and abrasives (sun the rain, pollution, road salt, bugs, car wash, automatic car washes - the bristles). When this clear coat is worn down, the sun's rays will eventually break down your headlights to that yellowish color with or without the haze. Obviously restoring is usually cheaper but the results vary and the yellowing of the headlights returns within weeks or months. I've used a handful, such as Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish -10 oz. and Stoner 95121 Invisible Glass Headlight Restoration Kit - Pack of 2. It wasn't until this Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit was one of the Lightning Deals of the Day did I decide to pull the trigger. The only time you apply firm pressure is in the last step of sanding with the 2000 grit sandpaper. In the last step where you apply the UV block clear coat, douse your blue cloth with it. This is the exact opposite from using this kit and finishing the Clarifying Compound step. I thought there was no way 1 more step of just a UV coating can clear up the haze from the sanding & clarifying compound. Again, clearcoats don't last forever so , if Sylvania is going to send me a new kit every time the clear coat wears away, then I'll definitely take advantage of it."

Construction is pretty good overall. I wasn't able to confirm 100% that the led's are cree as there were no marking and I would have to unsolder the led to dig deeper into it, but I'm. happy with it, as typical of cree it's a edge to edge yellow square with a good bubble on top, which is an easy way to spot a cree type led. I had considered buying a spot, and a flood and then taking them apart and swapping half the reflectors so I had the combo I wanted but decided against it. Cons: There should probably be an extra couple screws on top for the sealing of the lens. TIPS: I absolutely would get a small bit of outdoor clear silicone caulk and add just a super tiny bead to the lens to be sure it doesn't leak like a few. people are experiencing. I'll update with what it pulls power wise when I get my multi-meter from a friend back. "PROS: -very bright lights that exceed their price point. -well designed housing and LED lens. -waterproof after brief water testing. -simple to wire and install with provided brackets. -well packaged and shipping was very fast. -CREE LED's performed better in my opinion. CON's: (here we go on quality control defects). -one of the 4" FLOOD lights had no threads at all on the housing. I had to tap new threads into as seen in the pictures. -42" curved LED light bar threads were painted internally making it impossible to thread the mount bolt on again I had to tap and thread the hole and bolt to clean up the threads. -almost all of the lights had exposed wires showing from where the insulation had been cut back."

I couldn't for the life of me figure out the difference int he kits, so I went with the cheapest, the 3M 39008 Headlight Lens Restoration System. 3M headlight lens polish sample. - The 3M 39014 Lens Renewal Kit includes all the above plus: 1 - 3M Masking Tape PN 0000 25 ft. - The 3M 39045 Lens Renewal Kit with Protectant includes all of the above plus: 1 - Container of protectant formula. I had making tape, so no biggie there, and I just used a high quality automotive wax on the lenses when I was done, so I didn't need the 3M "Protectant formula". I would say the lights came out at 99-100% I'm not sure what those who wrote negative reviews were doing wrong, but if you follow the directions and take your time, the results are great. - Finish up with a nice high quality wax on the lens to protect your work!"
