"Going into the project, it seemed like a lot of work to have to pull the toilet out in order to replace this valve, but it ended up being very easy and took about 20 minutes from start to finish."
"Even though I had friends who tried to warn me about the perils of not properly winterizing my trailer's toilet, I still managed to damage mine this past winter."
"Toilet removal is easy a nut on each side, pull the supply line off the valve, two screws attach the valve to toilet."
"Took just a few minutes to swap it out and now our toilet works like new."
"This was by far the easiest RV repair of the season."
"The original let go on a camping trip and a mobile RV repairman was going to charge us a $75 travel fee and a $90/hour minimum plus parts to fix our issue."
"A little bit of water left over winter killed my vale."

Find Best Price at Amazon"This is the part, it is leaking, it froze, you're responsible for it, it is annoying, there is not much space to work, it can be overtightened - (and when that happens it is a bad thing), it 'snaps in', it is easy to break the toilet itself (also bad), and get some thread compound for installation (Rectorseal 23631). Order 2. Replacing this is 'spring cleaning'. When you are going to leave the trailer and the temperature will hit freezing, unless you have drained ALL the water in your system, this valve will freeze, and leak."
"I ordered another valve and tried to use the screws that came with it. Dometic should supply usable screws with this valve."
"I bought this because my old one sprung a leak along the plastic casting mold line during freezing weather."
"Trying to get the part number (or manual) from the Dometic web site can be frustrating."
"It was delivered to the wrong address and thankfully, that person brought it to me."
"While replacing it looks like a poor design of the toilet that makes it impossible to drain and blow out all water."
"Glad it came with screws which original didn't need."
"Can't change it without removing the toilet from the RV."

Just updating my experience and evaluation of this Camco product. Upon hearing of the release of the new design 41545 Amazon kindly referred me to E-Trailer in St. Louis and in a couple of days was on my door step. Most important the bowl is shaped better and much deeper and keeps the family-jewels safe and clean (thanks) also the flushing is vastly improved by the tri- directional jets and lever."
"My kids made fun of me, 'Oh mom, what's the matter, can't walk to the restrooms at the campsite?'... No, I do not want to walk through the trees in the complete dark to the restrooms. On the suggestion of a friend, I dropped one of the little waste dissolving pouches into the bottom with a large cup of water to 'get it started' & not have the 'first use' get stuck to the bottom so-to-speak. There were 2 children & 2 adults who used this on a regular basis Friday night, Saturday when we were at the campsite & night & Sunday morning."
"I got the 5.3 and just remember to empty it more frequently... Of course, if you're buying for your child, don't mind squatting or to fit the toilet into a smaller storage space, then get the 2.6 gallon. Another good idea is to use a liquid deodorant in the top (Fresh water) tank (not the gel pack as it might clog it) for a fresher bowl smell and cleaning. The main differences are the STANDARD has (reportedly finicky) latches on the sides, a pour OPENING in the back, a square shape, a flush pull on the front and a SINGLE spray rinse nozzle. Camco 41541 Portable Toilet - 5.3 gallon. The Premium has a spring loaded latch in the back (which you pull to unlatch and then tip forward to separate), an pour SPOUT that SWIVELS (like the Thetford), a rounded front, a flush pull on the side, and THREE spray rinse nozzles. It's been great when you don't want to deal with a cloud of mosquitos at the public restroom or when my wife doesn't want to hike 1/4 mile in the dead of night."
