I soaked my feet in eucalyptus scented powder and water, dried my toes and nails and placed my feet on a small footstool that was convenient for my height. "2 Main issues: First, it seems that for both new units, the top and bottom parts of the blades do not align as perfectly as the original SS-106, so instead of 'cleaving' the nail to produce a clean cut, the offset blades 'shear' the nail at an angle by 'pulling' the top and bottom layers of the nail until the shear forces overcome the strength of the nail, producing am uneven cut with VERY sharp edge. Second, the original SS-106 nail clipper had a rough surface (the top moving part) which was perfect for filing down one's nails by rubbing them into the 3 groves in the handle."

"They were such a step up to my usual accouterments that I didn’t care about the few flaws that they had; I was a believer in the better nail clipper. But, having spent a year with it, its few flaws (namely high price and large size) were enough to get me looking around for an alternative. • As a designer, I loved the packaging and waterproof travel bag included with the Klipit. The downside, compared to the Seki, is that, since the lever arm is shorter, it requires more pressure to cut through the nail. One final note is that, when I received my order the toenail clipper was missing from the packaging. I promptly contacted customer service and they did a wonderful job of making things right and sending out a new order."
