"I bought it to use as a steam vaporizer for one of my cats (Zafrina) who has chronic upper respiratory problems (yes, she is under the care of a vet). The problem is that it gets very expensive to simply run a shower for 30 minutes, (not to mention horrible for the environment and my septic tank) and most steam vaporizers are huge and designed for entire rooms. I didn't need to humidify the whole house, just a very small area I could get good and steamy a couple of times a day to clear up her nasal discharge so she could smell and hopefully feel like eating. I tested the Facial Steamer setting first, before putting it in her carrier, to make sure it worked properly and didn't get too hot or do anything weird like shoot steaming geysers. I kept it on the humidifier setting for her treatment, covered the carrier with a towel so that the only open space was the bottom of the gate and let it run for 20 minutes."

I noticed some people leave a negative review on this product because they found it difficult to attach the mirror onto the base. You'll have to look to where to insert them in the beginning, but eventually your brain remembers it's location and you no longer need to look for it. Well, there is soap scum/hard water stains on the plastic parts of it, but not on the actual mirror, which is important.
