This volume is the single best source for anyone interested in exploring and experiencing Mid-Century Modern, the international design movement that still influences homes and lifestyles from Palm Springs to Long Island and from Japan to Scandinavia. With each flip of the page, there is another recognizable image, and the reader is constantly in awe of the breadth of this movement and its evident impact on contemporary design.”.

Find Best Price at Amazon"This is a very comprehensive coverage of modernity though, in my view, with some slight idiosyncrasies: why does the rather narrowly defined Lighting get so many pages and the broad scope of Industrial design only forty-eight and not one Case Study House is featured in the Houses chapter. Because the biographies are more or less standard detail, the sort of thing you can read in books by design historians Charlotte and Peter Fiell, it's the photos that made the pages come alive for me, there are over a thousand of them, all in color and mostly big on the page."
"This a fantastic book."
"Gave this book as a gift - very comprehensive resource."
"It has all the big designers, but not many copycat designers."
"Cool and informative coffee table book."
"excellent compendium for experts or novices."
"Also it looks great on my table."
"Good overview of the highlights of mid century design."

Also interesting is a little overall analysis at the beginning of each section taking on the overall current value and popularity of the category."
"Miller's Price Guides are meant to be cumulative in nature, meaning they don't cover exactly the same categories every year. With the enduring popularity of TV programs like "The Antiques Roadshow" and "Storage Wars", I'm sure many people are also purchasing this handbook looking for that hidden treasure. There are approximately six to eight pieces detailed on each page, with each item featuring a full color photo, a short description, dimensions, price range in US Dollars, along with a three character source code that identifies the auction house or collector from where the photograph originated. Throughout the book there are numerous "ESSENTIAL REFERENCE" and "CLOSER LOOK" insets featuring historical and other details about the various categories and subcategories."

"So before I went any further, I bought a copy of Richard LaMotte's renowned book "Pure Sea Glass: Discovering Nature's Vanishing Gems" on the advice of a longtime collector and jewelry maker. A major added attraction is that there are over 150 exquisite and elegant photographs by Celia Pearson included here, presenting some of the beat specimens ever collected, along with a vast array of classical glassware from around the world that is often its source. The book is a comprehensive guide, chock full of information on finding and identifying these gems, the bits of aged glass, enhanced by years beneath the sea or caught in the tides that wash our coasts. After a recent hurricane I made a day trip to Montauk, NY, and actually found some wonderful pieces on the beach at low tide - one a real jewel!"
"What caught my eye was the beautiful color photos of various glasses that comprise the make up of Sea Glasses. Book also includes a glass color rating scale for helping collector determine how rare each of his or her individual pieces are. There are very interesting color photos of different colored specimens of Sea Glass educating collectors as to which colors are more valuable and rare."
"Beautifully photographed and produced but not extremely helpful."
"Beautiful book filled with great information on sea glass."
"You are asking me too early..."
"A must have book for all Sea Glass collector's."
"It has very detailed information about the different types of sea glass."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Where her first book focused on animals, in “Beautiful Nature”, Ms. Stocker has turned her attention to flowers, plants, and landscapes. I was so very happy to see succulents included as well as some of my favorite flowers (roses, peonies, hydrangea, orchids, and the list simply goes on and on.). 48 Beautiful Nature grayscale designs with plants, flowers and landscapes. Printed on one side of page. Paper is heavyweight, acid-free, slightly rough, white and perforated. Pages are water-marked on the back with an area for you to sign your projects. Alcohol-based markers bleed through the paper readily. Water-based markers bleed through in tiny spots with the exception of my Tombows brush end markers which did not bleed through in my tests. I could lay down great color, layer, and blend equally well with both wax and oil based pencils."
"Nicole has used heavy paper, printed on one side only with a lovely border around the pictures so that you aren't climbing right up on the binding of the book when you are coloring. Pros: Heavy paper with a nice feel. Detailed, well designed photos for every level. Support for beginners or anyone needing the extra help. Long term entertainment without becoming bored (oh look...another butterfly or mandela). Cons: A bit intimidating at first but take baby steps and it will be ok. No clue how long until her next book."
"Beautiful Nature is just the best follow-on from Nicole Stockers first book, Beautiful Creatures."
