"The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is one of those broad-based tests that covers a lot of ground. If you’re thinking of joining the military, the Trivium is an excellent study guide (test prep) and practice book to consider. The introductory material gives some basic information on the ASVAB, computer adaptive testing, when you can retake the ASVAB (if necessary), what’s on the test, a breakdown of subtests, scoring, qualifying scores broken down by service branch, how it’s administered, an a blurb about the recruitment process."
"Even if you aren’t looking to join a military service, this study guide will give you information that you can use in everyday life."
"Study guides are imperative in preparing for a big test. I have not taken the ASVAB yet, so I cannot guarantee it covers everything, but it surely seems comprehensive enough to get you a strong preparation for this test."
"The tips that associated experts have contributed are logical and truly do help to minimize stress and worry, giving readers a great idea of what to expect."

She shines a light not only on blatant discrimination, but also the more insidious, institutional behaviors that marginalize women around the world, in order to help readers of all walks of life better understand the often masked realities of sexual politics. Adichie, celebrated author of the acclaimed Americanah (Knopf, 2013), offers a more inclusive definition of feminism, one that strives to highlight and embrace a wide range of people and experiences. Her focus on women of color is also an aspect of the movement that hasn't always been given its due, and Adichie works in her own experience and life as a feminist within a more conservative Nigerian culture in an organic and eye-opening way.

"As the mother of a little girl and a woman becoming more self-aware, this book has enlightened me and made me realize that I have been confirming all my life."
"She dabbles into the negative repercussions that gender norms have on both men and women, but admits that she is focusing mainly on women's issues."
"Super basic, but this could be a good place to start for a young woman interested in embarking on gathering her feminist background."

"It definitely helps you understand what women have to go through."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Today I took my test (reading 5712), and I got a 180 out of 200!!! I did this for people like me, who want to pass the test, have the determination but are not super smart. the writing was simple and it didnt provide much strategies, but the test were challenging enough that they opened up my thinking. Therefore, I would still recommend it, but only for the test."
"For math, I not only used this book, but I also used the Kaplan book as well the study guide on the ETS website and Khan Academy. I would 100% buy this book in addition to other resources in order to maximize your chances of passing!"

More importantly, they will understand how to completely answer the types of questions that they will encounter on the fire department interview. The reasoning section is designed to provide an in-depth insight into the unique culture present in every fire station in every department throughout the country. The interview panel will quickly identify candidates who simply memorize the answers to both routine and complex questions, but have no understanding as to why they would act or perform in a certain way. By explaining the rationale, which often includes the culture of the fire service, readers are able to understand and internalize the "right" answer. Find Best Price at Amazon"As a project management instructor and course developer at a state university, a project management keynote speaker, and someone who has been training project managers for nearly two decades, I highly recommend this book. - You will need another book since many exam concepts aren't even covered in the PMBOK. I personally like PMP Exam Prep, Seventh Edition: Rita's Course in a Book for Passing the PMP Exam or CAPM/PMP Project Management Certification All-in-One Exam Guide with CD-ROM, Second Edition. - When submitting project experience on the application, you can submit work even if your title was not Project Manager. ***Update (Sep 2013)***. New editions of the books I linked to above were released: - PMP Exam Prep, Eighth Edition: Rita's Course in a Book for Passing the PMP Exam. - CAPM/PMP Project Management Certification All-In-One Exam Guide, Third Edition."
"So, go ahead and buy another book on studying for the PMP exam, but if that book covers any topic(s) that are NOT in THIS BOOK, you are learning content that is irrelevant for this exam. I bought Joseph Phillips study guide, and although it was helpful, there were many terms and content items NOT in the PMBOK guide, and therefore I did not get any questions on the real exam related to those terms/topics. Also, I took 5 practice exams from 3 different sources (one was from the Joseph Phillips CD) which turned out to give me false confidence because the real exam was a LOT harder. I recommend memorizing the 47 processes and being able to write them down in the chart before you take the exam."
"I mean - it's a boring text book, so what is there to love?"

"This is a tool for bar passage, I recommend doing these in preparation for those subjects while you are studying them in law school!"
"The book has many similar readings as the previous addition."
"In addition, it uses actual questions from past official MBE exams, which is helpful because most of the bar prep classes (minus Adaptibar) use some real questions but also write their own that are way more nuanced and confusing."
"Excellent for improving your MBE score....make sure you read the strategies and tactics section before starting a new topic of questions."
"Emanuel + Walton use actual MBE questions from past exams and break them down ...giving you a pattern for approaching your MBE examination questions."
"I didn't go through page by page of this huge book to check for errors."

Find Best Price at Amazon"-Buying the books gives you access to an online portion of materials that includes 3 practice exams, and two "mini" passage tests per topic. My biggest issue with EK books were that they did not connect the concepts in a manner that helped me understand or remember the material better. And when I say decipher, I mean that the explanations are so vague I would end up spending countless hours trying to learn the concepts at a "deeper conceptual level", when really my issue was that frankly I just sucked at eliminating wrong answers and making educated guesses. I was able to borrow the new Exam Kracker books from a friend two weeks prior to taking the new MCAT as last minute practice after utilizing all of the Kaplan and Khan materials. I felt well prepared (in combination with Khan Academy) and I had access to 3 practice exams at less cost than other prep companies. Also, please note that the most critical review (thus far) of these books is an MCAT instructor paid to teach from Exam Krackers materials."
"Little side panels with MCAT Expertise, Mnemonics, and Real Life ties in are great in case you're having a tough time understanding the section in question. They also do a really good job of tying things together; they make it a point to tell you "well, your studies of Biochem are not isolated. There are also some interesting ways that they introduce a chapter and relate it to you- I've even cracked up a few times at their scienc-y jokes. Then I went through them all the way again, taking scrupulous notes on all the important stuff that I had highlighted, or that the MCAT Expertise portions had brought up. But, there are only so many tricks to know and when you spend enough time figuring out how to solve them when they appear, you get a very good grasp on the basic material. They were much easier to answer because I had developed a strong understanding of topics in anticipation of harder questions."
"Would recommend to friends."
"Good set of books!"
