In the 1970’s, Brown traveled extensively throughout Africa, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Brown would take a large paper map, cut out the city center, folded it up and slip it into his pocket, thus preventing him from looking like a tourist in areas where discretion is the better part of travel. After many years on the road, Brown settled back in New York and decided to start his own business, based on the adaptations he had made to maps in his travels. Brown sold the maps during the day, zipping around Manhattan making deliveries on his Harley Davidson. Best General Maryland Travel Guides

Appalachian Trail Guide to Maryland-Northern Virginia
The official guide to 95 miles of the Appalachian Trail from the Pennsylvania line, south through the center of Maryland, briefly into West Virginia through Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and down along the West Virginia-Virginia line to the entrance to Shenandoah National Park.
Reviews
"The maps alone are worth the price of the book, and if you are foolish enough to be doing northern Virginia, you will certainly want to see the elevation profile of the infamous "roller coaster" (ten brutal ascents/descents over 13 miles) before you actually embark on the hike. They are heavy and bulky, and the tendency is to carry a data book with lists of relevant services and shelters."
"The map that came with it we made copies of and referenced at almost every break stop to get an estimated visual on how much further we needed to walk to get to the next shelter area."
"Perfect compact book which provides valuable information on parking, water sources and shelter information along the AT."
"You may be able to get the same information open source on the web without purchasing."
"disappointed that, for the price, no map was included."
"Nice quality."
"The book is supposed to come with three detached maps and the paperback trail guide."
