"There are both boys and girls depicted in the book, but it is a boy having the tea party, a boy using the sewing machine, a girl on the tree swing, and a girl as a superhero. This is one of the first children's books I've ever seen that shows the REALITY of little kids....that boys and girls do all sorts of similar things."
"At the same time, there are so many BEAUTIFUL and good influences in the world as well, like this book, and I truly believe that keeping a steady diet of healthy, positive "mind food" going into a youngster's brain can go a long way in equipping them to counteract the junk that creeps in from time to time. This precious book is such a great tool to help them begin... soft illustrations complementing simple words, a book that encourages a youngster to use his/her imagination and think of all of the possibilities in answering the age old question adults pose to them, "So... what do you want to be when you grow up?""
"Their current ages are three and five so we spend a great deal of time enjoying picture books. I found myself so captivated by the magical images on each page that I paused long after the words were read to absorb the beauty and detail. “The Wonderful Things You Will Be” stands out in a category of its own by combining outstanding, one of a kind artistic beauty with an encouraging and heartwarming message. Other children’s books do a great job of reassuring love between a parent and child but this adds another beautiful element to that message. Not only does it affirm that the parent will love the child, whoever they grow up to be, but it puts a great deal of excitement on all of the possible ways they can become their very own person. It encourages adventure, taking care of others, individuality, wholesome character traits and creativity. Each page contains a small amount of script while the captivating illustrations tell the story right along with the the written word. It Doesn’t Get Old: I like Dr. Suess and admire his work, however, I can only read the tongue twisting silliness so many times before my head starts spinning."
LEGO Chain Reactions is packed full of ideas, instructions, and inspiration for 10 LEGO machines that spin, swing, pivot, roll, lift, and drop. Our team of experts worked with educators and 11-year-olds to invent the machines, then wrote a book that teaches the skills (and some of the physics behind the fun) kids need to create their own amazing chain reaction machines. Includes a 80 page instructional book with Klutz certified crystal-clear instructions.

Find Best Price at Amazon"A lot of thought and effort went into the chain reaction concepts and resulting projects. The chain reaction projects aren't that at all. They are challenging in my view mostly because of the need for precision alignment between the paper parts and the Lego motion actuators the kids assemble to create the Chain the Reaction. The greatest joy my grandson experienced (and it was great joy) was the moment the first project functioned properly for the first time after several complete and partial failures (just as his patience was wearing thin) and then joy again once the chain reaction was rehearsed and easily repeatable so as to show his parents without failure. In summary, it appears that, assuming success along the way, the complicated chain reactions are fun for children to assemble, challenging to make fully, reliably functional and thrilling once they work for that first time."
"The Lego pieces supplied are mainly specialty pieces, to complete the machines. so your choices are - (a) buy the book, if you know the recipient has an extensive supply of excess Lego (b) buy the book, and the additional Lego you need (c) buy the book and get creative around what you can substitute for the additional required pieces - (book stacks are suggested in place of the towers, but I think would be unstable and difficult to get the components to align sufficiently for the machine to work)."
"Wow!"
"The second project requires 4 2x1 bricks, 10 3x1 bricks, 6 4x1 bricks "from your collection"."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I remember the Lego Idea Book 6000 the best, that's the one that follows Bill and Mary as they build a house, explore a city, travel to space, and then back in time to a medieval castle. The book is broken up into sections, essentially these are: vehicles, buildings, spaceships & robots, castles, pirates & adventure, and real world creations. This last section is very interesting, showing you things such as picture frames and pencil holders made out of LEGO. These include some interview style questions where you learn about the builder who wrote a particular section of the book. The lack of instructions also mean that it is probably more suited to an experienced LEGO builder - either an older child or a parent who enjoys building with younger children."
"This book certainly stimulates the child's imagination re: what is possible to build with Legos."
"Perhaps as he gets older, he will gain a better appreciation for all of the ideas in the book."
"This is like an engineering version of a DK Publishing tour guide book, but for legos."
"If you don't have a huge lego collection, this book could potentially have you buying more lego pieces or hunting down some of the more rare specialized peices to accomplish some of the creations."
"I got this book for my son, who, along with his two boys *ages 7 & 4* has always been very creative with anything LEGO."
"I was expecting step by step type instructions but it's more of a bragging book with pictures of things people built without help of how to build it."
"The designs were all really cool, but we're far too complex for young kids."

That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium: 25 unique Christmas-inspired designs with 2 copies of each included for a total of 50 coloring pages. Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick."

"It is a really nice book."
"Did not like this book - I am giving it to good will."

"The book itself is cute and perfect to read for babies and toddlers (repetition teaching days of the week, numbers 1-7, fruits and other foods, and life cycle). It is a solid, sturdy, proper board book with smooth finished edges that I feel comfortable having a baby touch (or even if they suck on it before you notice and pull it out of their mouth). The plush toy is also very well constructed with no loose seems and withstands gentle tugging on the ears, legs, and colored fringy hairs (of course you always need be careful with babies and choking on anything and not let them suck on this more than a moment or unsupervised)."
"The size of the board book edition is perfect for little hands and the durable, glossy texture makes it easy to clean crayon or marker smudges off the pages."
"My 8 month almost 9 month old daughter just loves it especially the pages with the food on it and loves it when her sisters or I read it to her out loud, definitely a must have for a little ones first book 📖 collection."
"I've just got him the bath book version, for his love for the caterpillar :))."
"Delightful story, beautiful art, clever little "bite" holes in the pages, and even a gentle lesson about caterpillars and butterflies."
"This is my 2 year olds favorite book."
"Clever story, well-written, too."

"I was so very excited to expose my daughter to “My Happy Place Journal” by Purple Splash."
"This is a guided journal for girls based on 4 personal growth and happiness techniques. The journal is divided into these 4 broad sections and will help your child write about all areas of their lives. It has space for them to list what they are most proud of in these areas, set goals and write out what they want to learn or try. This journal is a fantastic way to help build a young girls self-esteem. So, she will be getting this along with the "My Gratitude and Dream Journal" another award winning diary by the same authors. If you have a young girl between the ages of 8 - 15, that loves to write in their diaries, this is the perfect gift idea for them."
"Of course I love knowing that this is a fun, relaxing, and carefree way for my daughters to cultivate creativity -- but at the same time, it promotes intensive introspection, tons of self-confidence, and develops goal-setting without them even realizing it!"
"I recommended this journal to various clients with children and the feedback has been very positive. This journal is not like other journals."
"I was expecting a journal."

Best Children's Lion, Tiger & Leopard Books
2013 Randolph Caldecott Honor Award. After they kiss her goodnight and turn out the light, the child incorporates her parents' descriptions of the various animals into her nighttime routine. Her attention to detail can be found again on the endpapers where primitive circuslike train cars, a tiger riding proudly atop one of them, appear in sunlight and later in moonlight. Best Children's Colors Books
Kids will be imagining their own humorous conversations with crayons and coloring a blue streak after sharing laughs with Drew Daywalt and New York Times bestseller Oliver Jeffers. This story is perfect as a back-to-school gift, for all budding artists, for fans of humorous books such as Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Sciezka and Lane Smith, and for fans of Oliver Jeffers' Stuck , The Incredible Book Eating Boy , Lost and Found , and This Moose Belongs to Me. Praise for The Day the Crayons Quit Amazon’s 2013 Best Picture Book of the Year. Move over, Click, Clack, Moo ; we’ve got a new contender for the most successful picture-book strike.” – BCCB , starred review. * “This colorful title should make for an uproarious storytime.” – School Library Journal , starred review. * “These memorable personalities will leave readers glancing apprehensively at their own crayon boxes.” – Publishers Weekly , starred review. The conceit is an enticing one, and although the crayons’ complaints are not entirely unique (a preponderance centers around some variation of overuse), the artist’s indelible characterization contributes significant charm. A final spread sees all things right, as Duncan fills a page with bright, delightful imagery, addressing each of the crayons’ issues and forcing them into colorful cooperation.

No matter your age, you will identify with the characters, they will probably remind you of your family, your coworkers and your friends. In case you're wondering, some of my other favorites are: The Three Little Pigs, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, Small Pig, Where the Wild Things Are, I Want My Hat Back, Pete The Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, We're Going on A Bear Hunt, The Cat in the Hat."
"She loves to have books read to her, but this is one of the only times my short-attention-span kid has asked for the same book twice in a row and the first time a book as inspired such a burst of creativity."
"Our older grandsons have a lot of fun voicing the letters written by "Red", who even has to work on holidays (i.e. coloring Santas, Valentines), "Purple" is going to "completely lose it" if Duncan doesn't start coloring inside of the lines soon, "Beige" (who is "BEIGE and PROUD!"). ), who claims to be very happy with his work, congratulates Duncan on his coloring career, but wants to inform him of the bickering between "Yellow" and "Orange" over who gets to be the color of the sun, with "Yellow" and "Orange" writing separate letters each stating their case along with documented proof, "Blue" is overworked and now just a stub who can't even see over the box railing any longer, "Pink" believes she's experiencing discrimination because she's "a girls' color", while "Peach" is completely unwrapped ("I don't even have any underwear!"). But the amazingly colorful picture Duncan creates - allowing each crayon to stretch beyond their typical usages - ends up earning him an A for coloring and an A+ for creativity!"
"My young one loves it and frequently asks for the "crayon book" but the humor is perfect for older kids and parents too."
"Gave this to my four-year-old great niece who loves to draw, for Christmas."
"Awe a book that is simply close to my heart."
"Great book."
