A Pope and a President: John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the Extraordinary Untold Story of the 20th Century
The many similarities and the spiritual bond between the pope and the president—and how Reagan privately spoke of the “DP”: the Divine Plan to take down communism New details about how the Protestant Reagan became intensely interested in the “secrets of Fátima,” which date to the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fátima, Portugal, starting on May 13, 1917—sixty-four years to the day before John Paul II was shot A startling insider account of how the USSR may have been set to invade the pope’s native Poland in March 1981—only to pull back when news broke that Reagan had been shot. Nancy Reagan called John Paul II her husband’s “closest friend”; Reagan himself told Polish visitors that the pope was his “best friend.” When you read this book, you will understand why. “No Reagan biographer or scholar knows Ronald Reagan and conservatism like Paul Kengor.” — Michael Reagan “[Kengor] has written the most exhaustive and definitive account of Communism’s twentieth-century assault on America to date.” — Townhall. “Kengor makes clear just how central the defeat of the Soviet Union was to Reagan’s personal project.” — National Review. “[Kengor provides] more fascinating and never-before-reported details about how Ronald Reagan succeeded than any other Cold War historian.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity
A revised foreword and introduction A substantially extended epilogue that shares how Nabeel told his friend David of his decision to follow Christ, how his parents found out, and much more Expert contributions from scholars and ministry leaders on each section of the book, contributions previously included only in the ebook edition An appendix with a topical table of contents (for teaching from Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus ) An appendix tackling the objection that Ahmadi Muslims are not true Muslims And a sneak peek prologue from Nabeel’s forthcoming new book, No God but One: Allah or Jesus ? Nabeel Qureshi is a speaker with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.
Reviews
"For myself, I was reliving the search I had pursued forty five years ago, when my embrace of existentialism had left me so empty and purposeless that I had to reconsider the claims of Christ, just in case they might be true. I found myself anticipating each next step in Nabeel's intellectual journey, as each critical aspect of the truth of Christianity was substantiated by his investigations. I even experienced to a degree Nabeel's family conflicts, though for me it was my mother's amazement and bitter disappointment with my choice after college of seminary instead of medical school."
"The dedication at the beginning of the book, read by the author himself, had me bawling like a baby. I was unaware of how much disagreement about doctrine that there is within different Muslim beliefs and Qureshi walks through them carefully and respectfully."
"I have to say that as a Christian, before reading this book, I had very little knowledge of the Muslim faith and how Muslim children are raised."
"Nabeel’s testimony, the description of his journey in life as a young Muslim and the crisis of faith he experienced all impacted me strongly."
"He pursues the documented evidence with the commitment that whatever he finds he will believe in the God that is truth - even if he finds that the teaching that was a part of his life since birth may or may not be truth."

Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God's Work
New York Times bestselling author of the forthcoming God's Wisdom for Navigating Life Timothy Keller shows how God calls on each of us to express meaning and purpose through our work and careers. After her CEO roles at One Touch Systems and Pensare, Redeemer Presbyterian Church recruited Katherine to lead the church’s efforts in marketplace ministry, now called the Center for Faith & Work, which has grown to serve more than two thousand people a year.

"Every Good Endeavor reminded me that I was created for good work and there is glory to the Lord that comes from excellence in my work."
"Before starting this book I had a misconception that ministry glorifies God more than work, but Keller shows that God is glorified in all things."
"Every one should read this book to help us all understand that our vocation is for the Kingdom regardless of what it is (as long as it is not sinful)."
"Timothy Keller addresses the stereotypes and provides an uplifting, Biblical view of doing well, setting a positive example and just plain getting more out of life."
"I was on my way to a meeting and I put my book down on the secretary's desk to sign in and she looked at me... "Funny that you put that book there?""
"While I may still write that book one day, as a second career Pastor coming from the world of retail, I am thrilled to offer this book to any of my parishioners who are seeking a deeper understanding of how their work relates to the work of God in the world. In fact, after reading it, some have joined together to start an inter-church study on the topic of work and are starting with Keller's book."
"One of our all time favorites...have read it multiple times myself, given as gift."

The Nag Hammadi Scriptures: The Revised and Updated Translation of Sacred Gnostic Texts Complete in One Volume
The compilation of ancient manuscripts that constitute The Nag Hammadi Scriptures is a discovery that challenges everything we thought we knew about the early Christian church, ancient Judaism, and Greco-Roman religions. This is the most complete, up-to-date, one-volume, English-language edition of the renowned library of fourth-century Gnostic manuscripts discovered in Egypt in 1945, which rivaled the Dead Sea Scrolls find in significance.
Reviews
"I realize that there are other approaches to translation - but this is the one that I feel best serves both the original author and the reader. It is clear from the introduction - and on every following page - that Dr. Meyer's primary commitment was to making the Nag Hammadi library palatable to modern readers - rather than presenting the text accurately. This is demonstrated throughout - and, to give credit, and least Dr. Meyer and the other translators make no excuses for their choices. Putting in something that isn't there, based on a sense of the "spirit" of a text is, by definition compromising accuracy. To give credit - again - where deserved - many notes to mention that the translators have changed the clear meaning of the text. But, too often, the notes are simply Dr. Meyer's digressions on other similar mythologies which may or may not have any relevance to the text. But, since it was published before Gnosticism became hip - and profitable - the original translation demonstrates a clear and consistent commitment to the text."
"Perhaps it is the lesser quality paper they use to keep costs down that prevents the use of darker ink. Note about the content: This book will revise your beliefs on everything you thought you knew."
"enjoyed what I have read so far."
"it should be enough to say it is an interesting read."
"Enthralling and fascinating reading."

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity
In Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, now expanded with bonus content, Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way. -- Mark Gabriel, , Author and former lecturer, University of Cairo. Fresh, striking, highly illuminating, and sometimes heartbreaking, Qureshi’s story is worth a thousand textbooks. His quest brought together several exceptional features: a very bright mind, extraordinary sincerity, original research, and a willingness to follow the evidence trail wherever it took him. This book gives westerners a glimpse of the richness of family and love in a devout Muslim home; it is an enviable picture of respect, devotion, and society. But Christians and Muslims alike are told stories about their religions when they are young, while few have ever personally researched the writings of their founding fathers to assess the validity that undergirds their respective faiths. But it is also a deeply personal heart-wrenching and tear-evoking saga of the life of a young Muslim growing up in the West, a gripping biography that is impossible to put down. We are introduced to the depth of spirituality, the love and honor of family, and the way a person “sees” and “feels” in a devout Muslim home. It reaches both East and West, teaching Christians about Islam from an insider’s perspective and helping Muslims understand the love and truth of Jesus. Nabeel Qureshi masterfully argues for the Gospel while painting a beautiful portrait of Muslim families and heritage, avoiding the fear-mongering and finger-pointing that are all too pervasive in today’s sensationalist world.

Theology and Down Syndrome: Reimagining Disability in Late Modernity (Studies In Religion, Theology, and Disability)
Amos Yong crafts both a theology of disability and a theology informed by disability. Along with the work advanced in the Disabilities Studies movements, Yong provides a sustained discussion of theological perspectives on disability to keep pace. His careful and systematic theological analysis of disability offers insights and perspectives that allow his readers to grasp the meaning of disability and humanness in ways that are fresh, sometimes startling and disturbing, but always poignant and transformative. Yong's work is a significant contribution to disability theology and deserves to be taken seriously. "With a sharp eye on church history, compassionate heart that sees the world from the perspective of a scholar who is also a sibling of a man with Down Syndrome, an impressive analytical vision of modern disability perspectives, and the fresh insights of a voice from Pentecostal theology, Amos Yong is doing just what his title says, 'Reimagining disability.'. The book is a new, important, and wonderful contribution to the growing exploration of theology from the perspective of disability and of disability from the perspective of theology.

"My son used this book for a lot of source material on a paper."
