"You can see how his enormous expertise in the MSL field is condensed in this book, both in terms of content and writing style. On the contrary, considering the vast diversity of the field it would simply be too much, too overwhelming and let alone not feasible for a book of that format."
"As a PhD candidate who is aspiring to become a MSL but without much clue on where to find more information, I was lucky enough to stumble upon Dr. Samuel Dyer's book on how to break into the MSL role."
"I purchased Dr.Dyer's book about a month ago when I decided that the MSL career would be an excellent professional pathway for me."
"I wish I had purchased this book prior to my first interview for an MSL position."
"All the opportunities that I have encountered so far in the Med Affairs arena were solely through the interaction with the MSL Society members and by following the step-by-step methodology of "focused networking" approach described in this book. I expected to see a short chapter on the challenges faced by a newly recruited MSL (during the very first year after landing on the job) and tips on how to navigate the brewing phase of this career."

"They are included in the monograph, which I definitely need to see what they'll have at the human pharmacy, but sometimes it's just easier to search for Keppra instead of whatever Keppra is, which I have to look up first. It does give you a Google/Wikipedia search option in the search box, so I can use that to find Levet... something, and find Keppra that way without leaving the Kindle app."

Handbook of Clinical Psychopharmacology for Therapists has become the go-to resource for mental health clinicians looking for clear, reliable information about the treatment of mental health issues. This text is coherent and user-friendly, and reading it is a surprisingly pleasurable way to expand your knowledge in an area of clinical treatment usually not made this accessible to nonmedical professionals.”. Susan Flynn, PhD. The handbook is packed full of useful tables, figures, and illustrations that amplify the main text or can be used independently for a rapid introduction to the field or for reviewing the fundamentals. Covering both the spectrums of pathophysiology and the neurobiology of drug action, this slim, state-of-the-art-and-science text is truly a handbook worthy of the name and should be an essential resource for mental health professionals and students alike.”. Clifford N. Lazarus, PhD , licensed psychologist and director of Comprehensive Psychological Services of Princeton, author of Don’t Believe It for a Minute and The 60-Second Shrink. Its great virtues are its clarity and its humane and informed sense of the diagnosis, treatment, and care of extraordinarily complicated conditions.”. Jay Neugeboren , author of Imagining Robert. In their discussions of the major diagnostic categories, the authors do an excellent job describing the illnesses without simply listing DSM criteria, which is always refreshing and will help to keep this book from seeming outdated now that the DSM-5 has been published.

Best Pharmacological Product Development
We like to imagine that doctors who write prescriptions for everything from antidepressants to cancer drugs to heart medication are familiar with the research literature about a drug, when in reality much of the research is hidden from them by drug companies. We like to imagine that regulators have some code of ethics and let only effective drugs onto the market, when in reality they approve useless drugs, with data on side effects casually withheld from doctors and patients.

"First off, this is a must read for anyone interested in the shortcomings and pitfalls of drug marketing. However he offers little insight about the quality of any particular drugs, a few special cases are mentioned, , it mostly is about how drugs are developed, tested and marketed."
"Bad Pharma is a book that addresses how Pharmaceutical companies have intentionally and unintentionally mislead doctors into prescribing as many medications they can to their patients. Ben Goldacre also explains how Pharmaceutical Companies sponsor or pay for many of the academic journals written about the drugs they place on the market, bribe lobbyists, sponsor patients groups, pay for the required professional education for doctors, work together with educational and governmental institutions, and numerous unethical sales/marketing techniques just to get their product out in the market. It provided many statistical facts about Pharmaceutical companies and studies that have been conducted to prove that they mislead doctor and patients."
"Clinical Trials are still a scandal."

The Curies' newly discovered element of radium makes gleaming headlines across the nation as the fresh face of beauty, and wonder drug of the medical community. Written with a sparkling voice and breakneck pace, The Radium Girls fully illuminates the inspiring young women exposed to the "wonder" substance of radium, and their awe-inspiring strength in the face of almost impossible circumstances. " Radium Girls spares us nothing of their suffering; though at times the foreshadowing reads more like a true-crime story, Moore is intent on making the reader viscerally understand the pain in which these young women were living, and through which they had to fight in order to get their problems recognized...The story of real women at the mercy of businesses who see them only as a potential risk to the bottom line is haunting precisely because of how little has changed; the glowing ghosts of the radium girls haunt us still." "This timely book celebrates the strength of a group of women, whose determination to fight improved both labor laws and scientific knowledge of radium poisoning. Written in a highly readable, narrative style, Moore's chronicle of these inspirational women's lives is sure to provoke discussion-and outrage-in book groups." "Moore's well-researched narrative is written with clarity and a sympathetic voice that brings these figures and their struggles to life...a must-read for anyone interested in American and women's history, as well as topics of law, health, and industrial safety." "Like Da a Sobel's The Glass Universe and Margot Lee Shetterly's Hidden Figures, Kate Moore's The Radium Girls tells the story of a cohort of women who made history by entering the workforce at the dawn of a new scientific era. Moore sheds new light on a dark chapter in American labor history; the " Radium Girls ," martyrs to an unholy alliance of commerce and science, live again in her telling" - Megan Marshall, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Margaret Fuller: A New American Life and Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast.

Find Best Price at Amazon"In The Radium Girls Kate Moore tells the story of these young women, seemingly so fortunate, who were poisoned by the jobs they felt so lucky to have. After some of the women died and more became ill the companies making large profits on radium rushed to dismiss any hint that the work was unsafe. Eventually publicity stemming from lawsuits filed by some of the victims (using their own scanty resources) focused enough attention on the problem that governments felt compelled to set safety standards and regulations. The safety regulations and restrictions which were finally put into place hardly seem adequate, and the Epilogue and Postscript giving details of the women's later lives, as well as an account of another industry that made careless use of radium as late as the 1970s, are especially harrowing."
"This is one these books that will stay with you long after you finished reading it."
"One of the best books I have read in a long time!"
"I just got through reading Radium Girls based the the true story of the girls and women employed to paint watch dials in the early twentieth century with an exciting and new product, radium. Every girl wanted in on the work as it was good pay and radium was said to be good for your health."

"What a remarkable story and so very well told."
