Find Best Price at Amazon"The pages of the book are single-sided and are perforated at the bound edge so you can remove the page to color or to frame afterwards. The images have a wide range, including: an owl sitting on a wildly decorated crescent moon, an owl with butterflies, a "smart" owl amongst his/her books, owls on a wooden rocking horse, pirate owls, fairy tale owl, totem pole owls, steampunk owl, the owl and the pussycat (yes, cat included!)."
"She has filled this book with Charming Owls that entrance you and entwined them with intricate, captivating, unparalleled combinations of patterns, embellishing the backgrounds, scenery, borders, and even adorning the Owls creating illustrations that will make this your favorite coloring book, and you won’t be able to put it down. All Markers and Gel Pens leak through the pages so place two pieces of paper under the page you are coloring to prevent damage to the next page. If you love this book, you will also want to look at Marjoie Sarnats first coloring book (Creative Haven Cats)."
"This is a really cute and charming coloring book perfect for owl aficionados and colorists who like quirky pictures."
"I love owls so I'm probably bias about this coloring book."
"This makes using water colored pencils and markers easier as they do not bleed through to the other picture. I do put another piece of paper or thin cardboard in between so that it also helps to catch the bleeding if I am being heavy handed."
"5 bucks for a coloring book?"
"It has a good variety of images, however the paper is not the best quality."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Full of informative history, great photography, heavy paper stock, quality binding, and rife with a fairly complete overview of standard practice beekeeping methodology of the last 50+ years. They are the methods established, and now sadly accepted as standard practice, by production-focused commercial beekeepers and oriented toward a single purpose.....high honey yields. Sadly, there is virtually no mention of any of the newer (older actually) beekeeping practices which are gaining favor and showing at least the promise of greater self-sustainability in recent years. As beautiful as the book is (and it is) it's a bit like reading a book that touts itself as the definitive "Bible" on forest & land management which ONLY discusses the practice of industrial clear cutting while completely ignoring selective harvesting, dispersed cut blocks, longer green up periods, and any number of increasingly accepted forest management practices aimed at improved sustainability. I'd have loved to give this beautiful book 5 stars but any "Bible" on beekeeping has to include these now pressing considerations and at least minimally recognize that when one finds oneself in a hole....it's time to stop digging."
"Even non beekeepers will enjoy the recipes and history of this fascinating insect."
"Bought this book for a bee-keeping friend and she loves it."

A NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW EDITORS' CHOICE The enthralling story of the rise and reign of O-Six, the celebrated Yellowstone wolf, and the people who loved or feared her. Before men ruled the earth, there were wolves.
Reviews
Find Best Price at Amazon"For all of the science that wolves have in their corner, for all of the people they have pulling for them, there remain those who believe the wolf is a fur-covered plague - an animal who has no meaning for existence other than to be killed. And no true and honest book about wolves can avoid this painful fact - which means, at its core, heartbreak for the reader who is a wolf advocate. I cried for all of the people who had followed this amazing wolf for so long, I cried for her pack, and I cried for the lack of understanding that led to that point. Otherwise - Blakeslee has done an incredible job showing wolves for the amazing creatures they are, making clear the politics that gets played with these creatures' lives, and showcasing the amazing people who give their all for these animals every single day. It's an amazing book, and one that I hope will open the eyes of more people to the enduring American spirit that is our American Wolf."
"American Wolf: A True Story of Survival and Obsession in the West. American Wolf, by prize winning author Nate Blakeslee, is my choice for the best nonfiction book of 2017. This isn't just a bucolic story of wolves raising their litters and caring for each other, although the reader will learn an amazing amount about the compassionate and fascinating behavior of wolves. The descriptions of the packs in Yellowstone and what happens to them over the few short years when the government decides to allow hunters to once again hunt them (after the wolves had been protected) will anger you and leave you feeling helpless. The author's descriptions of the wolves are amazing."
"I work in natural resource management and I do believe there is a real need and place in our environments for this magnificent apex predator that owned these lands eons before we arrived and literally tried to wipe them out."
"This is an excellent book."
"I loved learning about the wolf families & how they care & nurture each other."
"It portrays both the people and the wolves sympathetically and realistically."
"This powerful story left me feeling as I have always felt..loving and dedicated to preserving the freedom of wolves."
"great read, very much interested, a native montana who used to visit the lamar valley to see wolves."

"Great ID guide for insects, I am still using this years after taking an entomology class where this book was helpful in the field."
"Exactly what my daughter needed for class."
"The front and back covers even have a convientent, illustrated dichotomous key that can help you get started by determining the order of your mystery insect."
"Would recommend to anyone who wants to know what they have come across, and need to identify what insect they have."
"4 stars because the book is mostly out of date on the larger groupings of Insecta but the info on the families are for the most part correct."
"Tried to look up 2 insects that i found.Could not find either one of them in the book.Either this book was published many years ago or they just didn't list all the insects that you will find in North America.Would not recommend this book."

If you are interested in becoming better a polo player: - the lessons are on just about every page … get out your highlighter. If you are interested in the horses, this book: - gives us a glimpse into the life of a top polo pony. - celebrates some of the best by telling us their stories. - gives insight into how Adam assembled such a remarkable string. - highlights the role the grooms, vets and farriers play behind the scenes … but especially the grooms. For those interested in peak performance, this book gives us a peek into: - visualization. - superstitions. - mindfulness. - health and wellness practices. - what does focus intently held for that long look like. - the role of performance coaching and some ideas we can apply. But in the end, I think what I might have enjoyed most were Shelley’s chapters. Beyond just the simple memoir of a truly remarkable athlete, Polo Life is a reminder that any great accomplishment generally involves a whole cast of unsung heroes who make it all possible."
"It is candid, full of interesting behind-the-scenes, personal anecdotes from the obscure, but always alluring, world of high goal polo, which thrives in our free market economy. From the rough and tumble of childhood bicycle polo on a bumpy farm field in Massachusetts, to the student loans that paid for his Ivy League education, and on to the world class champagne polo matches of Palm Beach, FL; Adam Snow's journey is always one of risk, excitement, and high achievement."
"Learning more about their work ethic, the incredible sweat-equity that they both put into building their life together is inspiring. I wish I had the chance to have gotten to know Shelley more; but she is an INCREDIBLE woman and I can see how her strength and self-confidence and love of her work, allowed the two of them to make it through the tough times. It's an excellent read about Relationships, Integrity, Hard-work ethic, following your passion and being humble enough to learn from your mistakes and become a better person."

Best Greece Travel Guides
The tales of a naturalist and his family, who left England for the Greek island of Corfu—where they interacted with fascinating locals of both human and animal varieties—these memoirs have become beloved bestsellers and inspired the delightful series that aired on PBS television. Included in this three-book collection are: My Family and Other Animals : Ten-year-old Gerald Durrell arrives on sun-drenched Corfu with this family and pursues his interest in natural history, making friends with the island’s fauna—from toads and tortoises to scorpions and geckos—while reveling in the joyous chaos of growing up in an unconventional household. Praise for the Corfu Trilogy “A most enjoyable idyll.” — The New Yorker on My Family and Other Animals “A lot of frolic, fun, and charming ribaldry, as well as the warm feeling of having been transported to a lovely spot where worry is unknown and anything is believable.” — The New York Times on My Family and Other Animals “A delightful book full of simple, well-known things: cicadas in the olive groves, lamp fishing at night, the complexities of fish and animals—but above all, childhood molded by these things and intimately recalled in middle age.” — The New York Times Book Review on Birds, Beasts and Relatives.

Find Best Price at Amazon"I heard about 'My family and other animals' a few times before, but finaly took it to read upon an acquaintance' recommendation. There's also a faint child-like feel to the first book, to the stories about first encounters with earthly creatures and the family's reactions to young Gerald's growing "managerie". The stories are hillarious, made me want to learn more about some of the animals (I knew only a few of them, like dogs and a donkey, but I had to search the web for geckos, spiders and various beetles)."
"You will fall in love with the adventure-driven, sun-seeking, shenanigans-planning Durrell Family as they leave their cold, dreary English home and follow their hearts to the Greek isle of Corfu."

In this, his latest book, Peter Wohlleben follows the hugely successful The Hidden Life of Trees with insightful stories into the emotions, feelings, and intelligence of animals around us. ...Wohlleben’s words are bound to touch even the animal-emotion skeptic". — Washington Post , Jennifer S. Holland, author of Unlikely Friendships. "With the same charm and clarity that drew so many readers to The Hidden Life of Trees, Peter Wohlleben has produced another gem . I found delight on every page, thanks to the author’s rare skill at blending scientific discoveries with his own wealth of insightful personal experiences . Surprising, humbling, and filled with delight , this book shows us that animals think, feel and know in much the same way as we doand that their lives are, to them, as precious as ours are to us."

Find Best Price at Amazon"The novelty of the Hidden Life of Trees, Peter Wohlleben's last book, was the author's ability to combine scientific discoveries with personal insight and anecdote to describe how truly animate trees actually are. While always hewing to a necessary humility about the limits of our scientific knowledge of animals, Wohlleben weaves the best of scientific findings with personal anecdotes of the animals in his forest which illustrate and develop what otherwise could be cold and esoteric research. We are story-telling creatures after all and Wohlleben has discovered a formula for writing scientific books that are both popular and informative."
"Sure to be a best seller, his first book written about trees sold 320,000 copies before being translated into English, The Inner LIfe of Animals leaves the reader with a clear understanding that animals share many psychological and social characteristics with people. "My favorite, all-time man-dog book is Merle’s Door: Lessons from a Free-thinking Dog by Ted Kerasote. Jans uses his life experience as an author, naturalist, experienced outdoorsman, investigative journalist and photographer to weave a wonderful story. The essence of the book (for me) is characterized in the following excerpt: “Running a Darwinian gauntlet that demanded constant adaptation and complex responses, with scant margin for error, he had accomplished what few large predators ever had, or will: he lived near, even among, thousands of humans over most of his life – not just a shadowed presence or camp follower,, but as an independent, socially interactive creature whose territory overlapped our own – without the benefit of a large-scale preserve. Through this time among us, he remained his own gatekeeper, his comings and goings defining the ever-shifting boundary between worlds, rendering our own surveys and markers meaningless.” (excerpt from page 185). When it comes to understanding the wolf ( I hike in northeastern Oregon - Eagle Cap Wilderness - where wolves are now becoming re-established ) hikers, civilians, researchers, ranchers, naturalists and environmentalists would ALL be well-served by consuming this work."
