Windows 10: The Missing Manual
Windows 10 (a free update to users of Windows 8 or Windows 7) fixes a number of the problems introduced by the revolution in Windows 8 and offers plenty of new features, such as the new Spartan web browser, Cortana voice-activated “personal assistant,” new universal apps (that run on tablet, phone, and computer), and more. David Pogue is the anchor columnist for Yahoo Tech, having been groomed for the position by 13 years as the tech columnist for the New York Times.
Reviews
"I worked Tech Support for years, back in the day when Windows XP was the hot operating system for all schools. Windows Vista had been released towards the end of my tech support tenure, but it was such a resource intensive, buggy mess that the school decided to hold on to XP for a spell longer. The style of writing is conversational, friendly, and funny, making the whole task a lot less intimidating for someone who's unfamiliar with the territory."
"Since my first purchase of a "Missing Manual" title many years ago, O'Reilly has come through with quality books that will help baffled users with both the everyday and arcane tasks their tools perform. Although I have not embraced the Cortana AI voice interface that is a major feature of Windows 10, the book does an excellent job of helping those so inclined how to use it (her?)."
"This book simplifies a very complex and broad subject, Windows 10."
"I have always enjoyed these "Missing Manual" books."
"I would recommend tis reference for any one at any level that's wants to get full usage out of Windows 10 and be able to customize it to their own liking."
"Unlike many of the more elementary manuals for Windows 10, this one not only provided essential guidance for getting started with it, but it filled with tips and examples on how best to customize it and to take advantage of its many new features."
"This really is the missing manual!"

"I am reading straight through this book with post-it bookmarks and highlighter because there's always so much in these programs that helps even an experienced user to work faster and better that is not really documented by MS. As an example, I figured out a lot about the interface change from 2003 to 2010 in the 3 months I before I bought the book, but was still struggling with and not properly appreciating the ribbon."
"Father likes it and he's 89."
"thick book."
"Great book for such reasonable price."
"All the common questions are right there in the book and I don't have to waste my support hours hovering over the new users as they try to make Office work like the old suite."
"I was looking for more information about the sort function in Excel 2010 and it really didn't have the information that I hoping to find!"
"This book is like many other help guides, it tells you to perform a function to accomplish a requested task, but does not tell the novice how to access that function, and I also believe it could be better organized."
"This book is an instruction/reference manual that brings you up to date with current Windows technology."

"As good as all the other Dummy books!"
"On par with other "Dummie" books."
"It was exactly what I needed."
"I had never used power point in my career (use to over head projectors)."
"Some folks "keep up" with new versions of Office, but I am so stingy that if the PC is older, so is the Office version, I can often pick up a new laptop on Amazon or at Stuff Mart with a new Office version (for that machine) for what it would cost to upgrade Office with the full suite on an older platform anyway, and upgrades have scrambled my O/S in the past so I'm also leery for that reason. For your question on webinars, YES this book is relevant for any version as far as internet presentations, but some of the details of linking between pages vs. links in your webinar have been updated in 16, although it is more dependent on the web presentation system whether your older version is compatible-- most will work with any Windows 7 version (as will 16 by the way), but check with your webinar platform to be sure."
