"Hard to use electronically."
"Will be helpful in planning next year's trip."
"Bought this because we're going on our first trip to Puerto Vallarta, specifically the Nuevo vallarta area, and this book advertises " including Riviera Nayarit"."
"Restaurant s were excellent that fodors suggested."
"Very thorough guide to my next destination, Puerto Vallarta."
"Page 216: “ATM buses depart from the bus station in PV…” It is not from THE bus station, but from a small dedicated but at a lot lot only for PV–Mascota- Talpa travel. The suspension bridge is not 7 KM from Mascota; it is 7 Km before Estancia, traveling from PV. These were errors we saw in the few pages we used."

Oddly enough, this entertaining well-written book of stories in also highly instructive, in its own way, giving the reader a comprehensive view (albeit through a slightly cracked lens) of what life is actually like for an American living in Mexico. I began my writing career at the age of sixteen when I founded, wrote and edited our school's first Junior Class newspaper. During this time I had the privilege of meeting a number of rock stars, such as Rod Stewart and Janis Joplin, none of whom had the slightest influence on my life up until the present day. In 2001 I published my first book, Puerto Vallarta On 49 Brain Cells A Day, a collection of satirical stories about my life as an expat struggling with the language and culture of my adopted home.

"Many times expats think their experiences of living abroad are so interesting that they would make a great book."

In Boomers in Paradise: Living in Puerto Vallarta, he shows boomers the pleasures and the perils of this self-described “Jewel of the Mexican Riviera.” Unlike other books on Mexico, 14 different boomers tell their personal stories of how they came to live in Puerto Vallarta, and what their daily lives are like. While the cornerstones of this concise, easy-to-read volume include both statistical research and the author's expertise, the book's marrow is a wellspring of combined experience of some 14 expats from different fields and walks of life who have lived the city's evolution. From a medical specialist and lifestyle magazine publisher to several Mexico real estate gurus, the book captures professional and personal perspectives of Puerto Vallarta's longtime locals, some who have done quite nicely south of the border with their entrepreneurial drive.

"A fun read."
