"The epitome of the best (& most emotional) love triangle I would've ever hoped to have read/imagined."
"I found the story and it's previous books, to not only be enchanting but also beautifully written, with extreme detail and a very good description of current and past land marks and locations, Tessa's London and Williams Wales made me inspired to travel."
"This book really helps you understand James and Tessa in suck a deep sense."
"Charlotte and Henry's love was explained more and left me smiling."
"Absolutely love the whole clockwork series."
"I don't want to give it away, so I will just say that the thing I didn't like was later redeemed by Cassandra because of all the other events that happen. I did take a peek at Cassandra's web page though, and am happy to say 2 more Shadowhunter type series are in the works, so I will just have to hold on to that!"
"I think it's beyond comprehension that a force is about to annihilate your race & you call a council meeting to argue about it. I also wish the mundane servants could have made more practical use of their second sight. I was stunned at the choice Jem made, but after finishing the book, I understand it better."
"I read this series before the Mortal Instruments, which are set it the same world but present day, and I have to say I like this set more (although both are on my favorites list!). I loved the Mortal Instruments as well, but I don't feel like I would have fully experienced them without reading these, as the Mortal Instruments didn't delve as deep into some of the important aspects of the shadow world (like the parabatai connection between shadowhunters)."

"This book was one of the first books SHE mentioned wanting to read on her own. We jumped in the car and raced off to the book store to see if we could capitalize on her "read all of the books mood" once she flipped through the book she was hooked in... inside the store!"
"I bought the book without reading the description, so reading it was a bit of a mysterious adventure — one that I took with Jacob."
"It is a pretty good book for young adult literature."
"Well-crafted characters and a solid story make this book an interesting read; however, although the story is interesting, it is not terribly compelling."
"I really enjoyed this book, especially the actual photos of the "peculiar children" and their families (what an interesting idea!)."
"All in all this is a well crafted story that will pique your interest, then captures your imagination and makes downloading the next novel inevitable."
"It is definitely creepy and for those who are easily spooked it may give you some nightmares but this is a young adult fiction novel so don't be too scared as they wouldn't set the genre to that if it was meant to be a horror book."
"Enjoyed reading this story of 'Peculiar Children', from Ransom Riggs."

Stalking Jack the Ripper
A #1 New York Times Bestseller! "Maniscalco has created a serious, sharp-minded, and forward-thinking protagonist in Audrey Rose, whose fearlessness will endear her to readers looking for an engaging historical thriller. "Audrey Rose Wadsworth prefers breeches to ball gowns, autopsies to afternoon tea, and scalpels to knitting needles. Though her father, Lord Edmund, has forbidden it, Audrey covertly studies forensic medicine...while "the Ripper" remains two steps ahead, lurking where Audrey least expects....Maniscalco's portrayal of scientific invention in a newly industrial era will serve as a fine first foray into Victorian classics. "With ample knowledge of Ripper lore, Maniscalco creates a steadfast and headstrong heroine who is as comfortable in gloves of blood as she is in watered silk. Filled with plenty of gory details, and no shortage of possible suspects, Stalking Jack the Ripper conveys the panic, paranoia, and fascination of 1880s London with a madman on the loose.

A Monster Calls: Inspired by an idea from Siobhan Dowd
From the final idea of award-winning author Siobhan Dowd — whose premature death from cancer prevented her from writing it herself — Patrick Ness has spun a haunting and darkly funny novel of mischief, loss, and monsters both real and imagined.
Reviews
"You know how you come across a book, and after reading it, you feel like EVERYONE needs to read it as well?"
"There are some books that are so special to the reader that they are a bit difficult to review. First of all, don't be fooled by the reviews that say this book speaks about a woman dying of cancer and her relationship with her son. Yes, it does, but it has much more to it than this, and claiming it is so, diminishes a book full of lessons, morals and ethics. The sensitiveness, delicacy and openness of spirit of both Patrick Ness and Siohban Dowd, who died of cancer before she could finish the story, make this reading a revealing experience for those who are ready to look beyond the story line. "A Monster Calls" didn't really surprise me with twists and turns, or with an unexpected end. But the unexpectedness and the beauty of this book lies on its way of deconstructing the truth by making we see it, by peeling away slowly the masks of our needed lies and fantasies. I... hmmm... have a fertile imagination and often prefer the written world than the illustrated one."
"Just read it!"
"This story transcends reading levels by connecting to the reader on a deeply emotional level."
"Ness carefully (beautifully) relates the nuances and pain of anticipatory grief through the trials of the young protagonist, Conor, who is dealing and not dealing with the illness of his mother."
"A Monster Calls is, on the surface, the poignant story of a boy, his mum, and her battle with the monster that is cancer."
"I went in knowing that the reviews were great and that it would be sad, but beautiful at the same time. So if you decide to read this, a few words of advice: you will most likely read it in one go, so give yourself a couple hours to read it."

"It answers many questions left by the games and also turns one thing from the games on its head."
"Also it was a great stress relief from the stress of college finals!"
"I suggest playing them/watching people play all of the games first, so everything falls into place and the characters are easy to follow."
"It believes that the readers have been to a place similar to the setting but doesn't go into any detail for those who may have never been to a place like that before."
"The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because there were still some things in the book that weren't explained enough, and sometimes the story didn't make sense until you looked back and thought about something more."

Reviews
"I initially bought this book off of others reviews & will admit I almost put it down. The main character, Thomas sort of got on my nerves as well in the beginning with all of his questioning but like I said, I stuck with it & I am so glad I did. The author does a great job of putting you in the middle of the action & developing his characters."
"Story consistent, good character development I did not get lost in the details the story haunting, I left the book for a while, remembered it and the story flowed like I never left, missing the characters already, like old friends, they went through so much during the tail to get to the conclusion I will definitely put this author in my top 10."
"At times it did seem to drag, prolonging pointless ventures and not going in-depth on the real issues and events that were happening. At the very end of the last book, Dashner does something different and very interesting by taking you back in time to how it all started. But just the same as the regular story line, he drops you at the end. There are so many other questions, but until Dashner can answer them, I will be left to peruse the internet for blogs and forums of other readers in hopes that they picked up on something I may have missed."
"As it is, the fourth book is so anticlimactic that I didn't even bother reading past chapter 8."
"A lot of people have also been saying that the book is very confusing and hard to understand but I believe different on this too. I think the author does a great job with the character Thomas."
"The Maze Runner has been recommended by tons of my friends, and I have been wanting to see the movie ever since I have heard about it. What has also interested me was the other book the author James Dasher wrote, which was the Eye of Minds. Thomas is just a 16 year old boy, who has been thrown into this huge place, and he has no idea what has happened to him. I think James Dasher is my new favorite author because of his amazing writing skills and his adventure filled books!"

Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)
And most recently, The New York Times called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the “fastest selling book in history.” This is the ultimate Harry Potter collection for Harry Potter fans of all ages! "SPECIAL NOTE: For U.S. customers purchasing the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, you will notice the text has NOT been converted to the "Americanized" version of the original U.S. releases (with the exception of changing all "Philosopher's Stone" mentions to "Sorcerer's Stone"). Good or bad is naturally for each reader to decide--just know, if you plan to read the books while listening to Jim Dale's audiobooks, you'll notice a few superficial differences. The quality of this new illustrated edition is phenomenal. All chapter intros are illustrated."
"IMPORTANT: For U.S. customers purchasing the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you will notice the text has NOT been converted to the "Americanized" version of the original U.S. releases. This difference isn't as prominent or noticeable as it was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, but still something to keep in mind. Also, to answer a question that has come up quite a bit, this is the FULL BOOK and not an abridged or shortened version. Underneath the book jacket, the novel is bound in a sturdy orange hardback with green lettering on the spine."
"I was ravenous to get my hands on my copy as soon as it was delivered this morning, but was quickly disappointed. But when I took a close look at my dust jacket, I was extremely upset to find that the gold foil lettering for "Harry Potter" had been rubbed away and destroyed completely in some places leaving ugly, black matte in its place-- pock marking the otherwise handsome gold lettering. Needless to say I'm in awe how Bloomsbury has managed to put together such an incredible project, with JK Rowling's remarkable literature and Jim Kay's otherworldly illustrations-- and allowed it to be put together in a low quality binding! Not all alone in a box... Update (October 9th): I have finally received my new book and it was in much, much better condition. The cover and spine were tight, intact and falling apart from the binding like my original copy."

Mockingjay (Hunger Games Trilogy, Book 3)
The greatly anticipated final book in the New York Times bestselling Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins's groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year. While I didn't know every detail, of course, the arc of the story from gladiator game, to revolution, to war, to the eventual outcome remained constant throughout the writing process. In the novel, you never leave Katniss for a second and are privy to all of her thoughts so you need a way to dramatize her inner world and to make it possible for other characters to exist outside of her company. Q: Are you able to consider future projects while working on The Hunger Games , or are you immersed in the world you are currently creating so fully that it is too difficult to think about new ideas? A: I have a few seeds of ideas floating around in my head but--given that much of my focus is still on The Hunger Games --it will probably be awhile before one fully emerges and I can begin to develop it. Q: The Hunger Games is an annual televised event in which one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts is forced to participate in a fight-to-the-death on live TV. A: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle Lord of the Flies by William Golding Boris by Jaapter Haar Germinal by Emile Zola Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury Grade 7 Up Following her subversive second victory in the Games, this one composed of winners from past years, Katniss has been adopted by rebel factions as their symbol for freedom and becomes the rallying point for the districts in a desperate bid to take down the Capitol and remove President Snow from power. But being the Mockingjay comes with a price as Katniss must come to terms with how much of her own humanity and sanity she can willingly sacrifice for the cause, her friends, and her family. Collins is absolutely ruthless in her depictions of war in all its cruelty, violence, and loss, leaving readers, in turn, repulsed, shocked, grieving and, finally, hopeful for the characters they've grown to empathize with and love. Mockingjay is a fitting end of the series that began with The Hunger Games (2008) and Catching Fire (2009) and will have the same lasting resonance as William Golding's Lord of the Flies and Stephen King's The Stand .
Reviews
"All in all, this is a really good book which are a great gift for every Hunger Games fan!"
"I felt that it started out strong and Katniss showed some serious hope and depth in terms of her character and what she wanted and how she was not going to compromise, but then it became a little boring, the characters in District 13 were not very interesting and the absence of Peeta, as another reviewer carefully mentioned, took away that balance - that harmony - that common sense side of Katniss. Also I do wish there was a clarity as to what in the world had happened behind the scenes between President Snow and Coin but no explanation."
"However, it is almost given that unlike the Enders series that turned more and more unreal as well as more distant from the subjects of the first book, this one could develop with more continuity."
"Catching Fire is different than most of the other young adult fiction books, because of the character development, and the relationship from book to movie."
"She unwillingly and reluctantly has become the symbol of the rebellion and the rebel leaders urge her to exploit this via video feeds to the 12 Districts. Katniss at first feigns infirmity but eventually caves in after negotiating an agreement with the rebel leaders that they will not harm Peeta or the other Hunger Games survivors if they assume leadership."
