"The movies fell far short but part of that was the actress who portrayed Bella."
"The book was as always amazing, descriptive and decisive."
"This book is the one that keeps me wanting to start reading the first book all over again."
"Excellent fourth book in the series bellow finally gets what she truly wants in many ways, and more things happen, then could ever be anticipated."
"Great conclusion to a great series."
"Switching between Jacob's point of view and Bella's was an interesting but necessary twist."
"A lot of people have read the first twilight book and hate the series, but if you can make it past the first, the other books in the twilight series are much more interesting."
"I felt like its execution was rather rushed, the author covers a lot of ground in terms of plot events, but doesn't really develop a lot of them, and then seems to throw in sort of random events and details that don't really contribute to the forward motion of the story. While I liked the idea of switching to a different perspective while Bella is home bound and can't do much, I thought the way Jacob's voice was written was rather heavy-handed in terms of using different vernacular to distinguish him from Bella, making him rather crude and unrefined."

"I can't explain why but it took me some time to read Lady Midnight."
"Lady Midnight expands upon the world that Clare has introduced us to in TMI & TID (The Mortal Instruments & The Infernal Devices). To be perfectly honest, I was somewhat annoyed by the sheer number of the Blackthorns that I had to remember and keep up with at first, but after several chapters and much thought, I could see why there needed to be so many of them. I feel like it was especially good for Julian, who grew up quickly taking care of his family and having so much responsibility. One other thing that slightly annoyed be about the book were the paragraphs that quickly summarized backstory (like who the Silent Brothers were, what parabatai were, etc). I understand that they were put there so that anyone could read and understand Lady Midnight (without having to read the previous Shadowhunter books), but since I was a veteran Shadowhunter reader, I was impatient and wanted to hurry up and skip over it so that continue with the story. I can't wait to read Lord of Shadows (can it hurry up and be released?!"
"The only unfortunate downfall is that Emma seems to share many of the characteristics as Clary and often runs headlong into trouble without asking for help from the other characters in order to protect them. The problems encountered are mainly internal, and focus more on the character development as opposed to action packed scenes."
"Clare takes time to develop each character so that you are invested in them. Very enjoyable read just a little slow for my taste for the reasons mentioned."

Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy)
Books by Anna Banks: The Syrena Legacy Of Poseidon (Book 1) Of Triton (Book 2) Of Neptune (Book 3). “A refreshing story filled with vibrant characters, feisty humor, and an irresistible romance.
Reviews
"Anna Banks really surprised me with Of Poseidon and I actually fell in love with this story about a chapter into the book. Galen and Emma meet on a beach for the first time and while they both feel an instant connection something goes terribly wrong. Emma can communicate with fish and can stay under water for long periods of time. He is the Prince over the Triton family and he is almost compelled to follow the rules and have everyone fall in line with them, which of course Emma never does. It’s a constant back and forth and one of the reasons why their romantic relationship takes so long to form. I loved the jealousy Galen felt around Emma when she was hanging out with other guys of when he stalked her on her date which was hilarious. Plus mythology was thrown in and Ann Banks certainly did a fine job of creating such a great and compelling story. He doesn't have to look up to know the sizzling sound in the kitchen is from Rachel spitting her pineapple juice into the hot skillet. Want to, I mean-" If a Syrena could drown, this is what it would feel like.”. Swoon: "His mouth covers mine, cutting me off."
"It has a similar feel to the Paranormalcy series by Kiersten White. They are fun supernatural YA with young female protagonists whose lives completely change. The mermaids...or rather Syrena as they prefer to be called...were interesting. Some things I had to leave my marine biology degree behind and just accept the world Banks created. It confused me, especially when I would first pick up the book and not realize whose chapter it was."
"First Thoughts. Well, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of- Of Triton but I had yet to read of Poseidon. My Thoughts. First off, you guys should know I just finished Of Poseidon like two minutes ago, literally. Of Poseidon is a story about a girl named Emma, who is just an average high school student. Upon their first touch both can tell there is an instant connection, but Galen notices that she might be more than the average student. I'm pretty sure I read his description multiple times so that I could have the perfect picture in my head. I could read a book with just their interaction and I'm pretty sure by the end I will have abs from laughing so hard. I got so excited when I read that, being an African American myself we are not really represented that much in YA books so I was leaping with joy with this bit of information. I had no idea I was even near the end so when I caught sight of the last sentence I was ready to flip my page and nothing was there. If you are a fan of laughing out loud, swoon worthy boys and mermaids, then I recommend Of Poseidon to you!!!"
