Find Best Price at Amazon"These are well-built, and as such they fulfill their intended purpose - that being that you now have an easy, less messy alternative to taping a cardboard toilet paper tube between your lens and camera body (and yes, you can do that if you want to go the low-tech route. While it would be difficult, without diagrams, to explain exactly how an extension tube works and the effect it has on focus distance and magnification, I can at least try to help with some of the problems people seem to be experiencing in these reviews. 1) All of the Kenko tubes sold under this listing will fill both EF and EF-S lens mounts. A number of years ago, this was not the case, and my first point was actually discussing how to tell the difference. So now the "sensor" only records the part of the image in the very center, just enlarged due to the added distance from the projector. Many people think of the extension tubes as a tool solely for macro work, but because of this side effect, they can have other uses as well. 4) The lens focal length has a huge impact on the focus range, but not necessarily in the direction you'd think. Longer lenses (like 200mm or 300mm) won't see as much difference in focal range with the smaller tubes. Even though it's the shortest tube, when zoomed out to 17mm, the camera will actually only focus INSIDE THE LENS. Well, just like the tubes, the farther that projector gets from the wall, the darker the projection will be due to light falloff. They're putting up with quite a bit of abuse, knocking around in my camera bag, but no worse for wear. The only thing you can see is that the 36mm tube's rubber grip has started to fade ever so slightly, so that it's not quite black anymore."
"The Kenko Macro Automatic Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS is a set of 3 extension tubes that you can mix and match to give you different levels of "magnification" (more on this in a bit). The extension tubes are mounted between your lens and the camera body to create more distance between the lens and your sensor. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus. By giving you three separate extension tubes you have much greater flexibility in the amount of magnification you desire and working with a proper macro lens (e.g. Canon EF100L 2.8 USM Macro) you can get extremely close into a subject. You can however use these lenses to turn a non-macro lens into a sort-of macro if you don't want to spend the money specifically on a macro lens (if you are interested in macro photography you really do need a specific macro lens)."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Hey, it's a piece of aluminum - it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg as long as the threads are good quality, which they seem to be. Some reviewers on Amazon mentioned uneven finishes, and plastic construction; neither of which this one has. This one black anodized aluminum (I assume, it's very light) and the machining on the threads are even, cut well and precisely, at both ends. I probably will order more from this company, Goja, maybe to adapt to other lenses in the future or perhaps some filters."
