"A blues masterpiece, with great contributions from Luther Allison and the incomparable Big Walter Horton."
"Good obscure album to have for the blues lover."
"This is a fantastic CD."
"The other five tracks are from a June 1966 session in Chicago featuring Johnny Shines, guitar and vocal; Big Walter Horton, harmonica; Otis Spann, piano; Lee Jackson, bass; Fred Below, drums. Luther Allison, Otis Spann and Big Walter Horton had their own recording careers as blues players."
"The tracks recorded in Chicago are the best, featuring both Spann and blues drummer par excellence Fred Below (Horton is on all of them), and they include a fine rendition of Big Maceo Merriweather's "Worried Life Blues" and the almost jazz-like "I Want To Warn You". But the L.A. tracks are not far behind, with some great guitar playing from Luther Allison, a funky "Fat Mama", and a great "If It Ain't Me", which sees Johnny Shines doing a good impression of Rice Miller (Sonny Boy Williamson II)."
Among the most unsung of Delta blues greats is Robert Wilkins.

Deluxe Edition , a retrospective of her 15 years with Alligator Records, may not include such classics as "I Got What It Takes" and the Willie Dixon -penned "Twenty-Nine Ways," but it does have "I'm a Woman," Taylor's answer to Muddy Waters , just to kick things off. Though this collection boasts only one obligatory previously unreleased track, it's a doozy: "Man Size Job," simply put, kicks ass.
