Best Movie Soundtracks

This is a production rife with odd pairings: English actor Daniel Day-Lewis joining up with the Mohawks; James Fenimore Cooper adapted by Michael Mann; disparate composers Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman teaming up.

"Love this album."
"Original music is priceless."
"My favorite track is "The Kiss"; we recently saw a very talented violinist named Christian Hebel perform this work live, which introduced me to the score as a whole."

"I am addicted to this soundtrack for years."

Robert Redford's fable of a cynical, young, white war veteran (Matt Damon) learning the perfect golf swing--and the meanings of life--from a mysterious black caddy (Will Smith) is typically rich in subtexts, from racial discrimination to armchair existential philosophy.

The 1920's period songs (3 total; 1 at the beginning and 2 at the end) are simply perfect in their ability to evoke that sentimental feel for a slower life long gone, and the quick-trodding 'oompah' second theme (for Charlize Theron's character) is a hidden surprise which will make you grin every time, but the crown jewel of this soundtrack is the main theme and it's many renditions."
"This is by far one of the best movie soundtracks ever created."
"In short, the film score from "The Legend of Bagger Vance," including the period pieces that Ms. Portman did not compose, is a raritiy that will appeal to all who appreciate melodic qualities, regardless of whether or not they play golf or watch the film (though I'd highly recommend that too)."
"The most beautiful music ever!"
"This film score is very noticeable as the movie tells its story..."
"The music from Bagger Vance is outstanding and a great addition to my collection of soundtracks."
"This soundtrack encaptures the soul."

The great acting by Campbell Scott, Stanley Tucci, and Tony Shalhoub explains only some of the magic of Big Night , for the trio share the screen with shot after shot of mouthwatering food and a lively Italian-American score featuring Louis Prima, Rosemary Clooney, Claudio Villa, and Keely Smith.

"It is a very nice CD and very nice compilation of Italian songs."
"Loved the movie."
"Made quite a hit with my Italian friends and family."
"I love this soundtrack."
"You can feel the passion of the people in the music, and that's what popular songs are all about.Abondanza!"
"I remember when I was about fourteen years old, my Mom (my Valentine's Day date to the movies) went with me to see the film at our local $2 cinema. The songs move from classic Italian ballads (classical and pop inspired), high energy tracks from Rosemary Clooney and Louis Prima (who, coincidentally, fits into the plot), and other beautiful tunes. Hit play (or, in my case, I would set the needle to the first number), sit back with red wine in hand and enjoy your little musical getaway."
"Great songs from the soundtrack of one of my favourite films of all time."

Best Musicals

Based on Irish folk dancing styles, Riverdance was originally devised as a 20-minute intermission entertainment for the Eurovision Song Contest. There, its phenomenal reception inspired composer Bill Whelan to expand the piece into a full-length stage show, still centered around Irish music, but now telling a loose story of many different peoples who in the 20th century have found themselves émigrés.
