"They have a board short material, but also a nice liner like trunks, and they dry pretty fast. You can wear these to pretty much any event where people will be swimming without sticking out, socially or "physically". Also note that you won't be quite as flexible in these as, say, some paper thin trunks, but you also won't give the entire hockey pool party a reason to call you "European Joe", and nicknames stick, guys - don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
