Find Best Price at Amazon"Long time Timbuk2 owner - this will be an in-depth review of the (Medium Twill) Timbuk2 Command 2015. I will make some comparisons between this bag and Command 2013 and the Classic Messenger 2014 models. The Command 2015 is largely a hybrid of these two models, but it comes with a few unique tricks of its own. Also, I added a couple of pictures, one including my true Every Day Carry. ###THE EXTERIOR###. Overall look: This one is pretty easy to get the gist of from the pictures already on Amazon. Check out the view from the side on Amazon's photos and notice how the bottom slopes up from the back of the bag to the front. This problem doesn't exhibit itself much if you keep the bag full... but I tend to run with a lot of empty space in there. The hooks on the 2013 Command are attached to the bottom part of the bag (I.E. not the flap). The attachment point of the hooks on the 2013 Command enabled you to cinch the bag closed at the bottom - a very handy feature which was brought into the 2014 Classic. The old one left dangly straps that were irritating and loud when set it on a table. There's definitely no chance of them accidentally coming undone, and that's nice... but I had a slight learning curve for hooking and unhooking them. Pro tip: unhooking is made easier by "rotating" them off, instead of using lateral force. For the 2013 Command you got velcro silencing strips, but you kind of had to decide if you wanted to use them or not and just leave it that way. I was a fan of this change because the 3 horizontal zips shared the same physical real estate, thus loading up one meant the other two were already full, even with nothing in them. I've come to use the main interior separator for the cases in which I used to use the front zip. It was kind of awkward to open & close given that the cinch straps got in your way, but that was a minor complaint. This may even out the weight of the bag some (assuming you're carrying a water bottle), but it comes at a price. If your laptop has a tiny power brick with awesome cable management, it shouldn't be a problem. They balance the weight of a waterbottle on the opposite side nicely... and you can get to them without opening the flap (something you had to do on the Command 2013 model). It's worth noting that the "water bottle holder" in the 2014 Classic never really made much sense. The medium ones can perfectly hold an Altoids tin, deck of cards, whatever. The 2015 Command FINALLY did something I've been wishing Timbuk2 would do for years - they moved the Admin pocket to the back side of the main compartment. Second, the back is almost assuredly more rigid, so the weight of your stuff isn't going to cause the front of the bag to droop when it's opened & unsupported. The 2015 Command's interior has the Admin pocket on the back and a small, thin portion on the front with a small bit of velcro at the top middle to ensure it doesn't fall open and annoyingly obscure the main compartment. It's replaced the missing small zip pouch on the outside face of the bag. The padding here is fairly minimal (similar to the 2013 Command) - so if you're very protective of your laptop that could be an issue. Recently I found out the iPad sleeve can perfectly hold a single-subject, spiral-bound notebook. My wife uses the luggage pass-through on her 2013 Command constantly to hold notebooks or as a temporary spot for whatever's in her pockets... Flatten the bottom of the bag so it sits upright, give me a luggage pass-through that's good as a slip pocket, and maybe add a small zip pocket under the flap, then you'd have the "perfect" bag. Highlights: 1) Moving the Admin pocket to the back of the main compartment where it should have been all along. Low areas: 1) The bag does not sit upright unless it is moderately full - thanks to a curious design decision."
"Other women like designer purses, I like bags with lots of pockets and design features to keep me organized and tidy. I've taken it on one trip (the reason I bought it) and I've been carrying it as my work bag for about a month. You can get into three of them without opening the main bag compartment, not counting the mesh pocket on the side for a water bottle or the zippered pocket on the back for your laptop/iPad. On the other hand, it was nice not to have a cord springing all over the main compartment of my bag while I was looking for my Advil midflight. • The biggest reason I bought this bag over less expensive ones is its ability to unzip around the bottom so you can lay it flat on the security line conveyor belt and not have to remove your laptop."

I have not had any real issues with quality or durability (I travel and use these a lot, but I will update my review in the future), and Shacke Pak has already demonstrated to me that they have excellent customer service."

From everything I could learn an all websites, including Amazon, there were 2 models I was interested in. The only difference between these 2 models, besides the color, is this one has a compartment for an iPad opposite the laptop compartment in the section that opens up to lie flat on the airport's scanning conveyor. My only complaint with both packs is I wish it had just a couple of other small zippered sections inside for small miscellaneous items often needed on business trips (e.g. medications, snacks, sunglasses or reading glasses, etc.)."

"I was initially a little concerned about purchasing this pack because of the negative reviews regarding the zipper quality. What happened is the stitching started to come out of the seam around the zipper and was getting caught in the teeth and eventually broke the teeth of the zipper within weeks of owning the pack. I have multiple Camelbak backpacks and several of them are 15-20 years old now and this pack couldn't even last 1/2 a year."
