Tiffen 52mm UV Protection Filter
It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Digital cameras have blocks, auto correction and digital filters that combat the bluish color cast therefore making the UV Protection filter a simple protector for your lens to combat dirt, finger prints & that fateful knock or drop. Enter your model number to make sure this fits.

"I also use them on my Mamiya RZ lenses for shooting film outside for the haze filtering abilities stated above."
"I use a UV filter on all my lenses whether for photography or digital imaging."
"My wife and I use these in combination with lens hoods like we use screen protectors and cases for our phones. Cons: The only drawback to a lens filter is that they ten to produce lens flare in situations where light sources are visible in the shot, ESPECIALLY when those sources are not dead center in the frame."
"This review is based on my usage of the piece with my Canon70D and 28-135mm lens: I purchased the 72mm piece to go on the lens I use the most, my wide angle 28-135mm IS lens from Canon. I always have the lens cap on when I'm not using my lens and when I'm using it, I always have the petal on it."
"After learning more about photography, I’ve come to the conclusion that UV filters are unnecessary and potentially hurt your photos with added chance of lens flare, especially if you plan on stacking a polarizer or ND on top of it. Unless you expect mud or sand flying at your lens, you don’t need to put a $10 piece of glass in front of a lens costing hundreds or thousands of dollars, for the same reason you avoid taking photos through your windshield."
"I tried few things and realized that the filter is impacting the image quality so I removed the filter and my pictures were much better in low light conditions."
"During the daytime, the UV filter works well and provides no noticeable degradation of image quality."

Reviews
"Through the years, I've carried around a series of prosumer cameras, from the Olympus C-2100UZ to the Minolta DiMage A1 to the Sony Alpha A300. I always lugged around a big, bulky purse because I used a fashionable camera bag for my handbag. I pretty much ditched my DSLR and compact camera in favor of the immediacy of editing and posting to social media. As the camera software got more sophisticated, I found I could get the images I wanted more easily with my phone than I ever could with my DSLR. I've seen add-on lenses for smartphones advertised on Facebook and other websites, but they've always looked chintzy and I doubted their quality. THE FIT: The spring on the clip portion is nice and tight, with a protective layer of foam that keeps it from marring the phone screen. THE GLASS - .6X WIDE ANGLE: The wide-angle lens is what you see when you remove the kit from the box. This combination allows a .6X expansion on the field of vision you see with your phone's camera lens. I don't know that I will use the wide-angle very much in day-to-day shooting because my phone already does great panoramas and has a good wide-angle lens to begin with. Be sure to put the cap on your wide-angle lens to protect the glass from scratches and dust. It means you will have nice crisp details of your subject close-up, but the background will soon drop off and blur."
"I'm going to show you guys How Amazing the shots look while using this 2 in 1 Camera Lens. Only Con: it is Heavy.. Really heavy. All of the Pictures have No effect added onto them, I took them all with the 2 in 1 Lens.."
"Do you want to lug around an extra item (a carry bag and cleaning cloth comes with the lens, but I would protect it in something like a briefcase, purse or camera bag) when the beauty of iPhone photography is its portability? You get a lot of glass and metal for your buck including some useful, not flimsy, lens caps."
"Excellent quality."
"it is heavy, hence a serious product, although a deal breaker if you mount it on a phone with the motorized stabilizer. It is well packaged, it has a great clip-on cover and it even has a small bag for holding it and protecting it from dust, scratched .e.t.c This is a 2 in one lens."
"The following are some pictures I took with the macro lens and wide angle lens."
"This is a cool little lens."
"We were skeptical due to the first item that we've gotten, but I told my husband to check it first."

"Bottom line up front: This kit is great when bringing some variety in the type of pictures that your smartphone can create. I use my phone often to take pictures of various things like all people and was extremely intrigued with the use and capability of the attachable lenses. If you have an especially bulky case, it may be difficult to attach and center the lenses on your phone. Disclaimer: I did receive this product at a discount however this does not influence my review of this item in anyway."
"I saw them on a friends wish list and decided they'd make a great Christmas gift for my sister who is always taking pictures on her travels. They have a compact hardsided carrying case that is quite a nice touch and could easily fit in your purse or pack. I took some insane pictures of my bamboo table runner and a knit iphone case before I made myself put it away and wrap it under the tree."
"This does not come with a set of instructions manual, so had to come back and read the product description in amazon. The wide angle lens give a very good coverage so is the fish eye. As said above the macro is wonderful. CONS: Does not come with an instructional manual .it would be handy ,if it had a small manual added - so when giving it as a gift they reciever does not have to scramble to find instructions."
"I mostly purchased this for the wide angle lens for photographing rooms and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pictures and also the other two lenses it came with. The Macro lens was super impressive to be able to et 25x zoom and such clear pictures up close."
"You get 3 clip on lens each with a lens cap, a microfibre cleaning cloth, AND a superb carrying case. I was a little concerned about the lenses not working with my "dual lens" iPhone 7 Plus, BUT it wasn't an issue."

Best Camera Lens Effects Filters

AmazonBasics Circular Polarizer Lens - 77 mm
Deepens the intensity of blue skies; reduces or eliminates glare.
Reviews
"I normally tried to avoid using filter as much as possible because of added time and complexity. I tested it for removing unwanted reflection and compared it to a B+W multicoated and a Hoya uncoated. The pictures attached are comparison of 1) no CPL filter, 2) AmazonBasics CPL filter, 3) top brand name CPL filter."
"I am usually very satisfied with Amazon basics products so I thought it was worth the risk, especially with the low price."
"I liked the packaging on the Amazon version - the case has indentations/rings to keep the filter from flopping around when in the bag. Between the Amazon and Altura, I would select the Amazon version."
"Since I already had a B+W 62mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer with Multi-Resistant Coating for the 70-300mm G and a Sigma EX DG 62mm Wide Multi-Coated Circular Polarizer Filter (OLD MODEL) for a Sony 10-18mm, I decided to get a 62mm AmazonBasics to compare with the other two first. To compare the filters I first customized the white balance of my Sony A6000 with a light panel, and then I placed all three filters on the light panel and took a picture. The average values for each area are: Panel: R 94.17 G 94.17 B 94.17. Amazon: R 78.33 G 78.87 B 77.37. B+W: R 68.87 G 69.60 B 71.73. Sigma: R 72.83 G 73.50 B 74.40. You can tell from these values that the B+W and the Sigma have more blue, and the AmazonBasics has a green tint."
"I have been using polarizers since 1981, and have had some good ones and some terrible ones."
"For the money, this thing is excellent."
"The Tiffen looks better than the X2. A weekend using the Tiffen returned slightly brownish pictures."

Best Filter Accessories

B+W 67mm Clear UV Haze with Multi-Resistant Coating (010M)
Because the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required. The lens elements of high-quality lenses and the plano surfaces of filters require a perfect shape and smoothness to achieve the best optical quality. Dirt, greasy fingerprints, water marks and scratches reduce the image contrast and the sharpness, which can result in blooming at light sources and have an effect similar to a soft-focus lens. A broadband effect can only be achieved with a multilayer coating which requires a much higher effort and precision because unevenness and irregularities of the individual layers build up on one another and amplify one another. Schneider therefore uses a plasma-assisted evaporation coating process in which inert gas ions accelerated in an electrical field compact the material deposited on the lens surface in the vacuum chamber. Another advantage of the F-Pro mount is its modified retaining ring, which is no longer threaded in from the front, but holds the filter glass in place from the back. "My wife bounced around the ladder, but had forgotten to snap the cover shut on the camera bag that she uses, and out flops her camera, lens first. My wife shoots weddings/families/portraits with a Canon 6D with L series lenses: the 24-70 f/2.8L II, the 70-200 f/2.8L II, the 100mm macro, the Sigma 50mm ART lens, etc... Now back to the camera flopping out of the camera bag."
"I purchased 2 of these 47mm filters for my A7 camera lenses, one for the Sony FE 28mm f/2 lens, and the other for the Sony 55mm F/1.8 lens."
"I've personally used a 67mm Tiffen UV protection filter for about 4 years. I recently purchased a EF-S 17-85 IS USM, and decided that instead of just buying another 67mm Tiffen, I'd invest in a B+W MRC filter and see what all the hype is about. I have noticed slightly better color depth on the B+W, but this is somewhat subjective and easily corrected in post-processing. Additionally a common cause of scratching is cleaning your lens with a speck of sand under the cloth."
"The threads on this filter are top notch and allow for a second filter to be chained (as someone who likes ND filters, this is important to me as adding an ND filter on top as opposed to taking it off and then putting on the ND filter saves a lot of time when you need that moment to get the shot)."
"There is no point putting crummy glass in front of a good lens."

Best Camera Lens Graduated Color Filters

Tiffen 77mm Color Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter
A neutral density 0.6-to-clear is often best for balancing sky to foreground. Half color, half clear with a graduated density transition for a smooth blending of color.
Reviews
"The ring was a little worn, which is to be expected with a used filter."
"I have never written about any filters but I would be remiss if i did not comment on the high quality and reasonable prices of Tiffen filters--I must have a dozen or more and they have been flawless, fit the camera lens perfectly, come well packaged with a great summary explaining the common uses of filters."
"You get good depth, lush color, and overall richness and makes selecting exposure less of a chore."
"Great, but it is not very low profile."
"The replacement had a green tint that showed up in the images and made it useless for color photography. Well, I guess you could use if if (1) you were willing to spend time in post fixing the graduated gree tint on 1/2 of the image or (2) you don’t care about accurate color."

In ordinary photography with infrared film or infrared color film, the Y(K2), O(G), R(25A) and other filters can also be used to change the contrast or color effect. Enter your model number to make sure this fits.
Reviews
"I tried a cheaper off brand infrared filter and couldn't get that signature look (white trees, etc.). Take a picture of brightly lit green grass or leaves. View finder is useless because it's so dark, but I could use my LCD to frame and focus my shots. Funny enough, even without the visible light, auto focus still seemed to work okay. JPG out of camera would probably be fine since it bakes the white balance in, but I didn't try it."
"I have been wanting to try infrared photography, and I thought for a long time that I would have to convert one of my cameras to so. This is a great tool to add one more dimension to your photography portfolio."
"Using for IR photography, this is an excellent filter for use in both film (e.g. Ilford SFX) and digital (e.g. early digital Nikons without conversion) approaches."
"This filter blocks a lot of light and allows passage of only the proper types of light."
"I've recently taken up IR photography, and got this filter to use on my larger lenses."
"Tips: Manual focus, manual WB (cooler 2850K...experiment!)."
"It works perfect on my 24-105 f4L."

"These ND filters work as almost like a pair of sunglasses for my camera and allow me to take long exposure shots with a longer shutter speed so they come out even better than before. The cool thing is that you can put your lens cap right over it if you were moving from one area to another, so you don't have to unscrew the filter first. I have thoroughly enjoyed using these ND filters to take better photographs and look forward to many more amazing photos to come!"

"it adds a little saturation to your pictures and help you removing or adding sun reflection on water which is really cool."
"I am an intermediate photographer in college taking photography classes, so I do not have a ton of money on me."
"The advantage of installing a filter on any camera including a dash cam is it also protects the lens from dust and maybe a stray finger print."
"I find that Tiffen does a great job in providing filters for a good price."
"The Tiffen adds a nice degree of polarization that gives colors a bit more saturation and contrast with a minor loss of overall transmission."
"I tried taking the same shots both with and without."
"A lot of websites on filters are for going pro camera folks, while I wanted some info on just amateur and regular photos, as I'm not a pro, never will be. I wanted this filter to improve family photos and vacation photos, so I'll leave a small blurb about what I found out the filter does."
