Find Best Price at Amazon"The interface is Garmin, which I am familiar with so no problem updating this unit or operating it. Compared to the previous 4" unit, I was concerned that the suction cup mounting system would not hold this steady. In actuality this unit weighs noticeably more than the 4" one it replaced, but fits the same stem and does not move at all. I got to enter my coach's height; length; weight dimensions and now asked for a route to another RV park. That was a relief as my first experience in this area included the local police stopping traffic so I could turn around and take another route. I knew that two of the fuel stops were able to provide me with a proper approach and exit to the pumps. I glued the suction cup to the mounting surface as eventually it stopped holding vacuum."
"What is nice about this RV 760LMT model is you can program in the size of your RV, in our case a travel trailer, and it will try and avoid areas where RV's of this size should not be or should not go. So my experience is it is a great Garmin to have with an RV, it's definitely pricey at this time of introduction which is typical though of Garmin's newer products and I suppose one of this size, the only real negative is the weak RV Park directory."
"I like the weather alerts that tell you where you are relative to the alert, I like the RV routing and the updated maps and points of interest like gas stations."

Find Best Price at Amazon"You can set the dimensions of your truck and weight to keep you of of low clearance bridges. You can keep a sidebar open that shows you the miles to next nearest truck stop, rest areas, and a custom one I put Loves since my company fuels at Loves a lot."
"Background: been driving truck since the 90s; used to using atlas' and payphones; I started getting techy with navigation by using Google maps 8 years ago; bought a Nuvi (for cars) when I was driving the Bakken oil field last winter (no addreses, small signs, bad directions); been back to driving 48-states since April 2015. You can look up truck stops by brand, then town. Some have complained that the unit crashes doing truck stop searches; not yet; the unit needs a moment to calculate, maybe practice patience and don't push the unit until crashes (perchance?). 6) Info screen: tap speed tile on the map screen; lots of info like sunrise/set, milepost, remaining drive time based upon vehicle profiles max speed, on and on. I can tell you this is a truck GPS and that that is a good thing! My Nuvi had an adventurous car-like spirit and got my stodgy big truck up a tree or two: residential streets; clearance issues; no truck roads; etc. Mine is on for two reasons: my company will fire me if I u-turn (trailer under-drive hazard for cars); I let the GPS route the road out/around/back via legal roads, while I look for handy-dandy parking lots, and nifty short cuts - problem solved, one way or another, legal and safe. 3) Given the immensity of info that this unit has to process, and the multi-stop hundreds/thousands-mile trips I make, length of calculation(posted on screen w/ %), this unit could use a bit more processing power."
"I love this thing I use it everyday and it never lets me down.. my only question is this: if a satellite can connect to this GPS driving allover the world why cant a satellite find my house sitting in one spot?"
"I bought a Garmin gps for my truck because i like their interface and how easy it’s to use it, but..... this time I’m returning this product because it’s working really bad."
"This GPS navigator has a nice size screen that is really clear."
"So I search for it using the category "along active route" and used the Truck Locations (TD) icon. However the body of the message had instructions for another truck stop that was before the Carlin exit. The message under the label had directions stopping at Petro in Wells which is exit 352. If I search for the truck stops by choosing the category "Where I am at now" everything will work correctly. Another problem is that when I touch the mileage note that tells me how many miles to the next turn. The worst case was when I set the destination for a Pilot at Perrysburg, OH off of I-80. It wanted me to drive around for a couple of miles before finally reaching Pilot. I don't remember which locations now but it happened a couple of other times as I saw the signs giving me the exit number to reach a truck stop but the unit wanted me to drive pass it or before it to reach the truck stop. The routing was generally good but those truck stops with all the driving around needs to go. May 20: It would be remiss of me to not mention that the GPS has guided me through the Los Angeles and Denver area very well. The freeway splits into two directions and the GPS doesn't tell me which way to follow. A couple of times when I woke up to get ready to take off the GPS was trying to acquire a satellite signal. Hopefully with the upgrade the will fix the reboot problem when doing several address searches in a row. June 26: Well the crashing stills happens when I do several searches in a row. This needs to be fixed so that the display changes back to the map view after a few seconds. Also at times when I use the voice command to adjust brightness it doesn't show the numbers on the screen. At least when I see the numbers I can adjust brightness by tapping if the voice command doesn't listen. Sounded similar to a DJ working a couple of discs. But the bad thing is that Garmin has lost the feature the drew a line where the vehicle had traveled. Before on my old GPS the pop up picture would close on its own within a couple seconds. If I don't shut it down and restart daily I am taking a chance with having a crash. The unit might drive an extra 3 to 10 miles to reach a fuel stop. Maybe the persons doing the mapping reach the sign for the shoulders which can be too low. I would like the use the trip history function where it leaves a line on the route but it hasn't worked after one update. They need to repair the IFTA app so one can delete past trips. I see google cars that are driving around mapping roads fairly often. Sometimes the GPS takes a bad route that can send me driving an extra 10 to reach locations. This seems to happen in rural areas There was one route in Missouri and another in Alabama that had me driving about 10 miles out of my way to reach a destination. But by paying attention and using google maps I can cut down on bad routing. The problem seems to be the GPS often times wants to hurry up and take a earlier exit to reach some locations. The last software update didn't address the problem with fixing the IFTA app. Before it would crash by being in a stuck mode of making a weird sound like a broken record repeating and the screen is scrambled. I say it needs to avoid city traffic and when I drove the usual way straight to I-40 it actually took a couple of minutes off of the time to reach the destination. I noticed at times in planning a route it seems to find to the earliest exit off of a freeway or major road. The consistent thing is the route from the GPS turns off the highway earlier. I have the box checked to avoid U-turns and yet it still happens at times."

Find Best Price at Amazon"What I like about the 2797: Screen size - Much easier to see info at a quick galance, very helpful for those that don't have 20/20 vision. Mounting method - Much improved - Just push the tab at the bottom of the mount and the unit comes off. Features - Talk about customizing, if you take the time, you can really have a special device that caters to your needs and preferences. Directions for use - I headed to Youtube where GPSCity does a wonderful job of showing you how to use your new device. Quick Note - I love the speed indicator, a feature on most Garmins. I travel on country roads quite a bit and the speed limit can change quickly going through small towns. Lane assist - I had this on my last Garmin, but with the larger screen, it is much easier to see. What I am disappointed with in the Garmin. Voice recognition - This was one of the biggest reasons I upgraded to the 2797."
"Pros: size, voicecommand, powered-mount, up-ahead, volume, navigation functionality, traffic, junction view, lane assist, etc. Cons: Bluetooth sound quality and functionality issues, Users Manual, Battery Life. In general I like the 2797LMT as an upgrade, in my case, from the 1490T, except for poor Bluetooth/Phone sound volume and quality plus an outgoing call/connection problem I haven't solved yet. Size: This is one really big boy sitting on my Subaru dash but it works surprisingly well with a beanbag mount...a 1490T on steroids. Probably not a good idea to suction mount to the window since if it releases (and it will eventually) you will have a large electronic piece flopping onto your lap. If so, than any 1 amp charger will work as long as you can connect to the 2797 direct with a micro USB tip. Note, the GTM cable to the mount connects with a mini USB tip. Display: Doesn't seem as `contrasty' or vividly color saturated as my 5" 1490T prob due to the same pixel count on the larger 7" format. Shortcut: Nice feature where you can include your favorites (icons) for quick search to frequent destinations. I noted a major problem with mediocre sound quality/volume and initial outgoing call connectivity. With my own non-smart Samsung Convoy 660 it didn't seem to connect automatically, especially when using Voice Command to initiate the call. I was especially looking forward to problem free use of Voice Command with the BT feature. I tested the 2797 also with the I4S, Galaxy S3, and Droid Razor phones to see if the problem is unique to my Samsung Convoy 660. Blue Tooth: Still a BT volume/sound quality/connection problem with my Samsung Convoy 660 on Verizon system. Perhaps you need to ensure your phone works the way you want before you buy,if BT is a major reason for purchase. I found this on 30mph local streets where the alternate turns were very close to each other, but if you drive a bit slower in these known situations, unit will work ok. locations is not sufficiently up to date, for example missing some restaurants and schools that have been at same local addresses for well over 15 years. Usage Update 4/25/13: Finally got an explanation from Garmin of how the School Proximity Warning works. But since this is a new feature not all schools in the POIs have been encoded with the proximity alert from their map vendor, navteq. Sent letter to garmin president and was essentially blown off by one of their minions, saying they are looking into the problem etc."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I was getting tired of being nagged to pay for a map update on the older unit. My last unit kept searching for a satellite connection so long I was afraid I'd get lost in the process. Regarding Bluetooth, The ability to use as a speaker phone when connected to your mobile device is nice. If Voice command and the speaker function are not important to you, you could save some cash buy getting the 2557 model."
"*The first issue I had was how the old unit clipped onto the base, to get it to release using one hand, half the time it would slip out of control and fall to the floor. *This new GPS has a LCD display that is not affected by polarized sunglasses, wow, what a difference! This new one uses a great birds eye animated graphic that highlights the lanes you need to be in; you can just glance and see where you want to be. Update 12/27/13: There seems to be a lot of concern about the LCD screen and polarized sunglasses. Even a slight tilt of your head started to dim the screen of the previous Garmin model."
"You can also do it manually from the GPS touch screen, personally i find it faster but there is a use where the non driver or any person in the car can send routes to the GPS without distracting the driver which is really nice to have."
