Find Best Price at Amazon"I have cooked with both of them and although I couldn't detect much of a difference after I cooked with them, I would be able to tell the difference if I just put them on toast. I used to cook with grass fed butter until I learned that different cooking butters and oils will oxidize and create free radicals if they are heated above their allotted temperature. This makes it a much more stable fat to cook with and it can be heated to a much higher temperature than almost all other fats/oils without compromising it (485 degrees F)."

Apparently you can make it by taking a block of unsalted butter, getting it to boil at a medium heat, and running it through a cheesecloth. But judging from all the comments here, it probably wouldn't be near as good as Ancient Organics."

UPDATE: I still have not repurchased because of my experience having to waste product because I could never open the lid and the last time I banged the lid too hard with a hammer and ended up with glass everywhere and in the ghee which I had to discarddd. Plant based oils high in Omega 3 fats are the healthiest oils including avocado oil which like ghee has a high smoke point."

Find Best Price at Amazon"For our regular butter that we keep in our butter dish we ALWAYS buy grass fed, we used to get Pastureland which is the best but that hasn't been available in over a year so we did a taste test between Kalona and Organic Valley and we now buy Kalona Supernatural. I attached a photo of the original 4th & Heart ghee next to my Purity Farms ghee and you can see the huge color difference, and no, there is no color added to the 4th & Heart, the deeper yellow comes from the cows having been grass fed. The kids now request this butter on their bagels, toast, and english muffins which we usually serve with a little maple sugar sprinkled on top and the mix of the vanilla with the maple sugar is wonderful, and because of the added sweetness of the vanilla ghee I can actually cut way back in the maple sugar I sprinkle and the kids don't notice or care. The garlic smells so heavenly and intense, but the flavor was just not there, it was so odd to smell so much garlic and then taste next to none, I was disappointed thinking my grand plans of super fast and easy and delicious garlic bread using this stuff and ciabatta bread were dashed. So, I tried adding a little of my own salt and voila, there was the garlic flavor I was looking for, just not as strong as it smells though. My kids did not care for this one, no big surprise there for me, and my husband agreed with me that the smell was fantastic but that the garlic flavor was just not there. he has not yet tried it with salt, but I am sure he'd agree with me that salt brought out the garlic flavor. This flavor ghee really did nothing for any of us, no one particularly cared for it but it certainly wasn't bad tasting though. I would definitely buy this 4th & Heart regularly if I could find it at a store for less than what it sells for on Amazon, and I will still buy it once in a while on Amazon for a treat as both myself and the kids are really loving it, it is really so flavorful as compared to the other ghee I have tried and so much more flavorful than out usual stick butter."

"After reading the same information from different nutritionists that oils like soybean oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, sunflower oil etc. Vegetable oils mess up the fatty acid composition of the body's cells, vegetable oils contribute to inflammation . It is now believed that increased inflammation contributes to serious disease, vegetable oils are loaded with trans fat. Now for stir frying I use unrefined coconut oil or virgin olive oil since these oils are healthy and only need a low heat to cook with because these 2 oils would burn at a higher temperature ."
