It took less than 5 minutes to put together, 6 screws and 2 bolts with one screw you remove and replace with a shorter screw. The directions have an assembly diagram showing you putting in the 6 screws and 2 bolts, just like any other directions kind of showing you how it all fits together before starting with the directions. HOWEVER in this case because it is so simple the diagram is your instructions, then when it says STEP ONE, you really are on step 3, you must put the thing together by the diagram (6 screws and 2 bolts with a washer for the 2 bolts) BEFORE you go to step one, which is removing the retaining screw and then inserting a short screw so that the stand can raise and lower."
