"I have a 2nd generation vortex bowl, and the center spire of the bowl was too high at first, making the lotus wobble and sit too high, which created gaps around the edge of the bowl which prevented the hookah to work properly. If you have a vortex bowl that lotus CAN work with it beautifully, but you either have to sand down the spire with sandpaper, or put foil around the bowl edge to raise the edge. The lotus makes smoking sessions easier to set up, eliminates the need to fuss with the coals, makes the coals last longer, prevents burning, and makes the shisha taste better. It is very expensive for what it is, but if you aren't a master of heat management and you want a great session every time, the kaloud lotus is a good bet."
"You have to get used to how many coals and how high you want to fill the bowl with tobacco to prevent over burning. You can also mix tobacco around after you smoked it for an hour to get more fresh flavor and prevent a solid burnt top and uncooked tobacco on bottom."

What's more— and this is really what assured my high review— I strongly suspect that this little device significantly reduces the amount of monoxide from the burning coals you end up inhaling. I can't be sure of that, obviously, but when you pull you don't see the coals glow brighter as you do during as is normal with a hookah. My standby highly dense Exotica coals need more airflow to stay hot than the Kloud provides, and don't fit well into the device."

"To make 100's: when filling chamber with tobacco, add a little extra to each end & a little in middle if needed. Put tube on the end, pull handle down & at same time hold other hand 1/4inch - or less behind tube so when it's filling it will hit your hand, Like hitting a wall. The arm that pushes tobacco into tube is long enough for 100's. It just takes practice to figure out how much tobacco you need. 2-when making 100's fill in the chamber (silver metal piece you put tube on) from the inside. Great for people who have hands or arms that hurt. And the metal pipe you put tube on gets super hot. After only1 cig, I burned my hand trying to clean it out because it jammed,on 1st try. The best part is you only need 1 hand to make cigarettes. We use "OHM Bold",Black&red bag. Tubes are "Gambler",orange, white & black box. It doesn't have all those crappy chemicals in it, Like store bought cigarettes. MYO(make your own) machine you will pay around $20 for tobacco.That's for 16oz.-1pound-makes 2 cartons from 1 bag. It also has a safty mechanism, so if you overfill chamber with tobacco, the machine won't fill tube. Update: been using for 1 month or longer & it still works perfectly."
"Anyway I repurchased a replacement machine and was shocked when it started doing the exact same thing the malfunctioning machine was doing. It was not the rolling machine that was malfunctioning it was the tubes being to tight for the injector to get the tobacco all the way to the filter even though they fit correctly on the nipple. If you are having this problem, try changing your brand of tubes before giving up and buying a different rolling machine."
