"Here's my story: Back in 1994, I was clearing an overgrown section of my backyard. Upon attempting to clear the tangle, I noticed it was poison ivy. To the point, I had just sent poison ivy spores flying into the air courtesy of the weed whacker. As a result, I ended up with poison ivy spots all over: legs, arms, neck. A co-worker noticed me scratching and applying Caladryl (which is useless) and told me about ZANFEL. Just gently but briskly massage ZANFEL over the affected area. 4) You will feel a mild "sand paper" effect while rubbing due to the micro-beads. If, in the 30 seconds, you no longer feel the beads, the amount you used has done its job and is loaded with poison ivy oil. 5) After the ZANFEL has treated an affected area, DO NOT let it dry on your skin. Just remember to rinse the area you swiped the ZANFEL from. 7) After treating an area for the 30 seconds, rinse the ZANFEL. If, at any time, it begins oozing or itching again, treat the area again. These are the instructions the person who called me gave me because they were afraid I was using too much. If the ZANFEL goes smooth (micro-beads dissolved), rinse it off, check the area, and use a bit more as necessary. They have to come in direct contact with the poison ivy vine or the spores. If your hand comes in contact with your poison ivy reaction (via scratching, oozing, etc.). If your dog or cat comes in contact with your reaction and then rubs on you somewhere else, that new area will probably react. I've never used Mean Green on poison ivy so I cannot comment on its effectiveness for treating it. 5) ZANFEL used to advertise that it basically removes anything foreign from your skin. If it begins to dry up while treating/massaging an area, simply add a drop or two of water; just enough to keep it moist."
