"It did affect my opinion when I was reading reviews because I feel like people who receive something for free are much more likely to give higher ratings than they may have. Each of my hair follicles was bright red after, and my skin was extremely warm to the touch. Sadly that wasn't an option, so I put on some PJs and stayed as still as possible until I went to bed. Assuming that the hair comes back even remotely finer and/or sporadically enough to reduce the pain, the process was worth it. If this cuts down my need to remove my hair down to 2-3 times a month AND gives me an excuse to binge-watch a few episodes of bad TV while doing so, I'll deal with the pain. Warning to people who try to epilate their underarms: Be prepared for blood. The small surface area was the one relief because I managed to get each of them done in only a minute or two. The hole is narrow to avoid catching your skin (which I didn't have any issues with whatsoever, even with the open attachments), but the plastic is so thick that it's hard to get short hairs. SHAVER ATTACHMENT--with and without trimmer head (4/5). This is alright for trimming. It isn't as good as a dedicated trimmer because you can't get as much hair at once, but it does its job pretty well. STAND (?/5). I'm not really going to leave my epilator out all of the time, especially since I will supposedly only need it once or twice a month, so I'm not giving a review of this. I make my own facial products (moisturizers, exfoliators, cleansers, etc. My skin doesn't feel any smoother or cleaner than when I use the products I make myself, and it has a bigger environmental impact thanks to the batteries."
"Your first use will make you cry, sweat, even bleed but the three weeks of being a hairless beauty makes it worth it. Wax is messy but less painful than this bugger. Because I actually really love the stupid torture device. I just grit my teeth and suffer for future hairless beauty and quick showers sans shaving. It's quick, great for touch ups, my skin doesn't get as roughed up."
"I have struggled with having dark body hair and seemingly more than my friends, and had been shaving my arms since I was a teenager. It took me years to figure that out). Shaving would cause it to come back the very next day after doing it for a while and it was so depressing being constantly reminded of my inflcition. The first time I did it, I went really fast across my arms and wasn't consistent, going in different directions and pushing too hard or too soft because I didn't get it - and the hair seemed to grow back quickly. After doing alot of research on the proper way to epilate, and getting used to it- I now have it completely down and see what people love about it so much. I epilate at night time and when it's done it will definitely look red and dotted like a plucked chicken ... The clipper attachment that comes with this is also really quality, I have been using it to get an even cut on my downstairs and the small size is perfect for that area. The entire device is easy to charge, clean and sanitize, and it's got a cute design that is welcoming and user friendly."

"I only treated one leg so I could have a side by side comparison, the treated leg has a noticeably less hoard and the hair that is there grows much slower. Notice a few straggler hair in areas, but a huge decrease in amount and thickness of hair present."
"I've gone from having pretty noticeable stubble hours after shaving my legs to having legs that are still smooth feeling 4 or 5 days later. Of note: I've been using it on my underarms just as long as I've been doing it on my legs and while I've noticed some improvements there, they haven't seemed as dramatic as my legs and bikini area. There is definitely less hair there and I've gone from having to shave every day to avoid feeling like my armpit was lined with razor blades to shaving every other or every 3rd day (and even at that it doesn't feel nearly as abrasive or sharp as it used to). Even if I don't get rid of all the hair and have to keep using this fairly regularly for maintenance it's totally worth it to me just to avoid the constant shaving and to get a better result from shaving. As I type this review my legs feel like I just shaved them."
"I was very hairy; to the point I would wear long sleeves during summer months. My armpit hair is completely gone after 8 sections."
"I dropped $300 on a professional full-body wax, and I was pleased with the result, except for that by the time the swelling and irritation died down (a little over a week) I had visible regrowth again. I found that the very same pale skin/dark hair combo that makes shaving so unsatisfying for me made me a great candidate for IPL treatments. After using it 1-2 times every 2 weeks for about 3 months on my legs, stomach, chest, groin and butt, I can say without a doubt that I have achieved at least a 60% hair growth reduction. However, I can say that by following the instructions carefully and being as consistent as possible, I have seen significant results so far, and I am confident that I will eventually reach the smooth, hairless skin that I desire. The process is slow and definitely tedious, but doing this will not only make each treatment more effective because more of the IPL energy will hit the follicle itself instead of being wasted on other parts of the hair, but it will also make it less painful as the heat energy won't have as much hair to heat up, so it won't feel as hot, stingy, and burning. I'm still working on the more stubborn, coarse hair on my groin, mid-chest, and stomach, as well as the harder areas to reach/treat evenly, such as my butt and the back of my thighs."
"My thick black manly full beard facial hair has been the bane of my existence for so many years now."

"I stared at this thing for like 6 months going back and forth on whether to give it a chance. I ONLY have been using this laser on my underarms and bikini (soon to be Brazilian yeah I know it says not to do it but its working so woo!). I'm going to the Bahamas soon and I wanna look damn good in my bikinis. I am a believer of actual results so I only did it on ONE armpit, and one side of my bikini line. I wanted to see actual differences because I was not about to waste 400 bucks on some laser that didn't do crap in a months time. *party time*. So to use it I apply Numb Master Cream 30 minutes before and then get a bag of ice to use while zapping. I feel like I'm getting a pinch from tweezers every time it zaps or worse. I stared at it like an idiot for 2 minutes wondering if I'd already shaved it but it was the same throughout the next two days. I'll add more to this review as I remember what to write/tips, and post update pictures if I can get all the hair to be gone forever!"
"Within the first week I noticed a difference; those stubborn hairs that I have to tweeze (and were causing that part of my skin to look irritated) were MUCH easier to get out. One thing I did notice is you need to be sure the laser is hitting an actually hair follicle. I know that sounds crazy considering you are trying to get an area that has hair; but be mindful of where you are actually pointing the laser. Hair grows in different directions if you pressing the laser in an area where the hair grows to the right, you may want to adjust the angle you are pointing the laser."
"When you first get it, pressing the power button once will not keep the unit on; the manual states you must activate/register the device via online or by phone (enter email address/serial address) - I'm not sure how the device would know that it registered unless it connects via satellite or whatever, so I don't think it's really necessary... it seems like you just need to know the "secret method" to "activate" the device, which is not explained in the manual; therefore, after registering, it just gave additional "secret instructions" on how to get the device to work, which is by holding onto the power button (it must be unplugged from charger) until it gets to COUNT 5 and that's when you must release the power button (if you go over count 5 and release, it won't activate) then it'll make a successful beep (ta-dah sound), and now it will stay on after pressing the power button. It sounds a bit racist, but it says if you're African, Indian, Pacific Islander... dark skin tones, you're just out of luck... Not only skintone that you must worry about, but it works only on natural brown or black hair - NOT for white, grey, blonde, or red hair. Many state it can end up feeling like "rubber band snapping against the skin", which sounds frightening, but I tried level 5, and to me, it had more of a burning sensation; others describe as tingling, itching, warm... it definitely burns at its highest, but tolerable. I mean it's LASER and trying to kill your hair follicles, so that, ideally, it won't permanently grow there. Obviously, lower the setting means, more treatment time will be required. These are rough recommendations for treatments: Upper lip - 25 pulses (2-3 minutes). Underarms - 100 pulses per side (4-5 minutes). Bikini line - 200 pulses (8-10 minutes). Upper leg - 600 pulses (25-30 minutes). Knee - 600 pulses (25-30 minutes). Pros: - Do it at the comfort of your home. - Very easy to operate. - Pretty cool features. - FDA approved. Cons: - Expensive (although some believe it to be a lot cheaper than going to a treatment center). - Many limitations/skin tone/area/etc."
