"As a long time sufferer of chronic lower back pain (sciatica), I have been around the block a few times searching for the right treatment to manage my pain. At least with the chiropractor, one staple of therapy is the use of TENS and a heated compress on my lower back to help alleviate the muscle tension. I've long wished to have this therapy available without an appointment and the associated costs. Pros: -- Heats up quickly and evenly - I've had heading pads in the past which seem to heat up first along the coils and then radiated out over time. I also like that it doesn't heat up whatever I've lying or sitting against, so it's safe for heat-sensitive surfaces. I find it a little short and inconvenient when I'm using it on my back and I'm lying down."
"I was excited to hear about this heating pad. You can spray the microplus side with a mist of water or dampen it with a sponge so. as it the pad heats it's giving you a moist heat. I've had many heating pads in the past where. Medium isn't hot enough, while High is too hot. It's also not made of that vinyl material that most other heating pads. are made of, that always end up getting all twisted and become useless after awhile."

The cover is integrated INTO the pad. The integrated pad cover doesn't slip off while in use and ruin the shape of the plastic pad as the cover is being held on by a plastic snap pulled tight to end of the pad as the cover slips off the other side. The integrated pad cover doesn't slip off, exposing the super hot plastic which can burn the skin. This may mean washing is more of a hassle, and a risk for losing the pad sooner, but for me the softness and worry-free USE of the integrated pad cover greatly out-weighs the con of losing a pad sooner due to machine washing wear and tear. The latter option is something I have never had in a pad before and I like it as it lets me put the pad on "1" and set it at the end of my bed for keeping my toes warm all night. Though I've paid $25-30 for cruddy pads with the flimsy blue cover held on with a snap from Wal-Mart, so $36 for this awesome pad doesn't seem too shabby a deal. When you put the pad on unlimited timer it seems to waver, and not stay super hot, so people that want endless searing heat may not be happy with this.
