Some of the best tattoos I have seen have come from prison and that was using threading needles and ballpoint pen ink in less than desirable and sanitary conditions. There is a lot of fine tuning needed to get your machine working right, so Youtube as many videos as you can BEFORE you flip the switches and than wonder why you burned your supply out running 10 amps when your rubber bands are clenching the needle so tight it can barely move. I did not have any problems using them but I used them all the same so I could give an honest review (I have my own supply of inks that I use on a routine basis). Again, this is just ink, and who knows what's in it, trust me when I say they use worse compounds in traditional ethnic tattooing."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I compared: Aquaphor Healing Ointment No-Touch Applicator - 3 oz + Unscented lotion (the most recommended method on the internet). Tattoo Goo The Original After Care Salve, 0.75 Ounce (the oldest product that I know of still on the market. That said - here's the breakdown and why I like Tattoo Goo best: Aquaphor is very goopy and hard to apply in the early stages of healing. The first day of healing I felt like a monster with this stuff all over my arm and I could not let my skin touch anything else I left a greasy, inky spot behind. I do find that sometimes I have to dig a bit out to speed up the application process (I'm covering a lot of skin), but I don't mind. It provides a thin layer of moisture that I can feel long after applying it, which meant I only needed to do it 3 or 4 times a day. It is more of a creamy, body butter feel to it than Tattoo Goo which applies very smoothly. It smells better than Tattoo Goo, but I'm not a big fragrance person so I don't put a lot of stock in that either way. If I apply Hustle Butter right before bed, I have to put a towel over the area I'm sleeping on because it will transfer to the sheets, pillow, clothing, whatever. So even though I would need to buy 3 tins of Tattoo Goo to heal my arm (which works out to about the same price as this jar) I prefer it for the non-transferring nature of it."
"I've always used the same set up: medical antibacterial soap and aquaphor. With this latest addition to my arm sleeve, I had a terrible reaction to the aquaphor. It keeps my arm moisturized without a greasy film or transfer onto my clothes which the Aquaphor always caused. It also has brightened up older sections of my arm which are colored."
