The right side of the cabinet has the opposite problem, where one side of the swinging door sits a little bit into the piece, even after I adjusted the door following the directions given."

Find Best Price at Amazon"You will need to attach a 4mm hex bit to the ratchet for the screws they provide you (and yes, you CAN use the screws provided! Assemble both the legs like Figure 1 in the instructions before you being to screw in the screws. Make SURE you use the correct pieces of wood in the correct holes (shorter cross piece goes in the lower hole, each side should have a long leg piece with a dot and a leg without a dot at the top) as well as the correct length screws (short, for this part). When screwing in the screws, go slow and steady; do not apply too much force/torque at once or you WILL STRIP THE SCREW! When you finish assembling the body of the chair (including attaching the seat), choose a side of the stool you want to face the wall (in case you make a mistake on the first couple of cover pegs)."
"The stool I recieved DID have a defect in the seat portion; it looks like a section of the wood was gouged somehow, and it was painted over rather than being sanded down. I do recommend using some carpenter's glue to secure the screw covers, as mine simply will not stay in the holes. I don't see it listed in the product description, but a label on the underside of the stool's seat warns that it can only hold 220 lbs. To sum it up, for a good price, you're getting a nice looking stool that is easy to assemble, might need some wood glue, and holds a smaller amount of weight than I had expected (though to be honest, I'm not really a stool-weight-limit expert, so this might be a very appropriate limit."
