Find Best Price at Amazon"Since I'm not making things to sell or use it on the daily basis, after hours of comparison, I decided to buy the DW5080, it was right on my price range and did everything I needed it to do. Once the package arrived I couldn't wait to tear it open and begin using my new iron. - The water tank is definitely bigger. - The steam holes is definitely more than my old iron. - There are several settings for how much steam you want to use in each project. - There is a self cleaning tab (I do this at least every other week since I do not use it as often). - The heat setting knob is smooth, not like my old iron it feels like the combination lock where I need to hear it click to know it's in the right settings. - The pointed tip is perfect for pleats, collars, tabs, and so on. - The iron heats up in a minute maybe less (I really didn't set the stopwatch for this). - It automatically shuts off after a few minutes of non-use. - To turn it on I just lay it flat for a second and stand it back up. - With this iron it takes me 5-15 minutes (depending on how many yards of fabric I have)."
"A good steam iron should have at least 300 steam holes, my sources told me, and 1700 watts of power. The Rowenta Dw5080 is great -what a real steam iron should be. One note on filling it: if you get little white flakes, your water is too hard, so add 50/50 with spring water (not distilled), and be faithful about using the self-clean feature once a month."
"I love Rowenta irons...except they start to leak after 3-4 months."
"After less than a year of use, water now literally pours out of the bottom of the iron...not the face plate, but the bottom of the iron."
"I thought this would be a great iron that would last for at least a few years!"
"I ended up purchasing a cheaper model (Hamilton Beach) after the 1st iron just started pouring rust water of the bottom and haven't had any issues with it spitting out rust water."
The iron’s powerful burst of steam function (150g/min) works great for thicker fabrics and makes unruly wrinkles quickly melt away. Highly polished stainless-steel soleplate with precision tip and 400+ micro holes for thorough steam distribution.

Find Best Price at Amazon"The best advice I can give anyone is that if you are going to spend the money for the Rowenta brand name, then make sure that the model you are buying says "MADE IN GERMANY". At one time all Rowenta irons were made in Germany, however several years ago as a cost cutting move, the company farmed out many of its lower price models to China. Every Rowenta German model I have owned or worked with has been mostly reliable, and each provided steady long term use. On the other hand, the lower priced models made in China are known to leak (both clear and brown water), drip, have uneven steam, and only last for a short time. Can't really fault the iron for this as mineral deposits are a fact of life when an appliance uses hot water."
"Fortunately, cleaning is quick and easy and you don't need to wait for the iron to cool down to clean it. As a quilter, I need good quality tools to produce good work and this iron is one of the best!"
"I purchased one just like this to replace one I had for over 10 years that I dropped one too many times."
"Love the needle nose on it to get in between the buttons, a frustration on the other iron. Like the way I add water for steam, with a big hold that has a closure over it - the other iron would allow hot water to pour out if I tipped it too far to the side."
"The steam output on this iron is so high that without a mesh top, the steam will blow out the sides and burn you if you're not careful."
"Finally an iron that does not smell horribly when heating."
"this was a great deal of the day purchase and i love it...the extra holes give a better ironing finish HOWEVER you cannot see. inside the fill water area... its very dark plastic."
"Very efficient and gets extremely hot fast."
The handheld iron’s integrated electronic steam pump delivers a substantial burst of vertical steam (up to 210g) and pushes up to 30% more steam into material (compared to steam irons with no pump), ensuring fast, effective removal of wrinkles from all types of fabrics. A smart steam motion sensor turns off variable steam when the iron stops moving, conserving water and electricity. Integrated electronic steam pump delivers powerful burst of steam (up to 210g). Pushes up to 30% more steam into material (compared to steam irons with no pump).

Find Best Price at Amazon"I admit that I held off ordering it because I always hesitate when there are no reviews on an item. I decided on this model...the DW9280U1 because of all the features and I love the way it looks; the color is awesome, though does not have anything to do with the function. I read the brochure that came with it and it says to use just plain tap water and to be sure to empty the iron out when done ironing. Then, as you begin ironing, I was so impressed...the iron just glided over the fabric; no dragging, no spitting whatsoever from the iron at all! The steam shot through the fabric with an incredible force; and every wrinkle was ironed out with one pass of the iron...this amazes me. I even tested it on the worst shirt he owns...it is a heavy 100% cotton shirt that I deliberately left in the dryer and it was full of wrinkles..yet this iron took them all out with a single pass of the iron...just incredible...and it glides so beautifully over all different types of fabric. Crisp, beautiful creases on all the fabrics I used it on. When ironing my Christmas tablecloth, which is linen, again, one pass of the iron took out the wrinkles; the steam is what does the trick, I think. Maybe it's because my other Rowenta was giving me so much trouble that this one is like a dream come true."
"The cord on this iron measures 96" from base of iron to the wall when plugged in, about the same as the Sunbeam. You must lay the iron down on the ironing board with a little thump to get it going again. The dial used to select the fabric (i.e. heat) setting is on the top of the body of the iron under the handle. All irons have settings for various fabrics, arranged in order of temperature from low to high. Most irons, including my $30 Sunbeam, allow me to decide if I want a little steam, a medium amount, or a whole lot of steam. This causes billowing of steam in my face when I am lifting and lowering the iron while trying to press cotton quilt blocks, and is a drawback to this iron for me. The documentation says there is a compact steam generator built into the iron that pushes 30% more steam into the fabric, compared to other irons. I still use my spray bottle to augment, or even replace the steam function of this iron, just as I did with the Sunbeam. The iron claims to have an "Anti-Drip" system that prevents water from leaking out of the iron "when the temperature is too low." However, during the second day of use, using the iron on cotton fabric at the appropriate setting with steam, I had a large drip on the fabric. I turned off the steam, but be aware that if you accidentally hit the shot of steam button (which I managed to do) you will get a shot of steam no matter what the setting. There was no damage done, but if you really need a dry iron, you should probably make sure the iron is empty, and not just on the "dry" setting, to be sure there will be no steam or drips. The shot of steam operates whether or not you have the iron set for steam or dry, and no matter what the fabric setting. There is an auto shut-off function that turns off the iron after about eight minutes of inactivity (less time if the iron is flat on the board)."
"Rowenta, how about this approach: "I see that you have spent 4 times for this iron than what you could have bought one from your local Target or Wal-Mart, and you've only had the iron four months, so, we're shipping you a new iron today, along with a label where you can send back the defective unit." Thanks to Rowenta, I must either purchase a new iron, send everything out to the cleaners for a month, or wear wrinkled clothes."

Hot steam penetrates deep into fabrics and relaxes fibers, releasing wrinkles faster than ironing and freshening clothes in seconds. Includes telescopic pole, attachable fabric brush and clothes hook.
Reviews
Find Best Price at Amazon"The telescopic pole is a little flimsy and a little too short in my opinion, but the hook provided to hang your garment on is easy to use. The included attachments make steaming easier provided you're using them for their intended purpose. This unit should include some locking castors for use on hard smooth flooring. Onto maintenance issues...this unit WILL clog eventually if you use tap water. I did not listen to this advice in any manual I have read about steamers and today I cleaned out 3 years of mineral build up from my Steamfast. Figuring it was clogged I eventually just decided to take it apart today and see if I could clean it myself."
"Two minor problems I have with this steamer - there are no brakes on the wheels so the steamer slides around while I'm steaming, and the telescoping pole isn't quite high enough for my taste. A pointer for those new to steaming - place the steamer head on the inside of your garment pushing steam from inside to out."
"I must say that it can't replace an iron, but it's so easy to use, definitely saves time."
"I've had a full basket of un-ironed clothes for as long as I can remember because he goes through so many and I HATE ironing. I also had a problem with the screw on the tank, and I contacted customer service and they sent a replacement right away."
"I'm reading a lot of reviews that say the same thing. It heats up so fast, made a lot of steam & the wheels easily roll."
"The telescopic pole is too short, the hose is too short, and it tips over."

Mr. Ash, service customer rep/owner, also indicated that he will personally walked me through the installation of the replacement steamer to ensure that the post is working properly. I now am able to steam all of the clothes with ease and I am revising my previous statement on its perfomance with heavily wrinkled cotton and linen clothes."
"I bought this steamer to steam my curtains that I knew I would never take down just to iron. I was able to completely steam this item, the first time using a steamer in under 3 mins."
"We own an older Steamer from a Big Name Company(which we paid more than double the price compared to this one) and other than the extra fancy attached gadgets I honestly didn't see much difference in outcome(see shirt pictures bellow) In a cute attempt to justify the extra cost wife thinks this Machine is Okay :). The only negative thing that I found with the Steamer (although I received it as a sample test free or at a discounted price) is the position of the drains on both, the tank and the the machine itself,as some water remains in both after emptying them out,and that wouldn't be a deal breaker anyway, just get some paper towel or a rag to wipe out what remains."
"But now with this steamer it looks so sharp!"

One of my cats decided that the ironing board would be a great place to do a little claw cleaning and she put several holes in it. I went back to Amazon and decided to look at all the available silicone coated covers and I found this one. The one piece of advice I would give to anyone buying this cover is to make sure to install it nose end first."
"I knew that even if I found the right sized board cover it would be a constant hassle finding the right size to replace it again. I now have a standard sized board and this cover."
"Note: I used the new Ritz professional ironing board padding underneath and used regular fasteners to clamp onto the padding & cover beneath to keep it all in place. Ironing board fasteners are cheap to buy & will help keep it smooth & free from bulging."
"I just replaced an old, old, ironing board cover."

Pros: - price, - size, - easy to use, - ready to use in less than 2 mins, - comes in carrying case, The mitt is nice but I've never used it. If this is to be used only in the house you may want a larger product to hold more water so you can do more items without stopping."
"I will warn you, it advises to NOT tip it, and keep in mind, it is filled with molten hot boiling water, so please be careful if you are a rushed mom getting ready for work, with little ones running around the house."
"Update 12/27: Once I got back to the US, the folks at TaoTronics proactively reached out to me to let me know that they had a new and improved version of this steamer. Update: The steamer I received must have been a lemon (worked once and then stopped), but the customer service was fantastic and worked quickly to make things right."
"It hold enough water to steam 2 lightweight shirts or 1 thicker shirt before you have to refill."
"I needed a new steamer for my work clothing This one is a very small unit and I tried it out and only got about 1 shirt done then had to refill it."
"This steamer can really remove wrinkles from my shirts and t-shirts. The only thing I don't like is it cannot hold much water so I have to refill water after ironing each shirt."

Find Best Price at Amazon"It’s no secret in our household that I detest the ‘ironing clothes’ task, and I have been very successful to avoid this chore for over 15 years. However, there is NO power switch, when the electrical cord plugs into the outlet it immediately starts to heat up, which takes about 4 minutes. Similar to the Travelaid, the Remington does NOT have any type of ‘on’ indicator display, there is NO automatic power off either, and there is not a way to see the amount of water within the steamer’s tank. The exterior gets scorching hot which burns and blisters the hand when touched immediately after, and the Remington steamer needs a long time to cool down before it’s safe to handle. Therefore, the Remington Steamer is a hazardous product as there is NO power switch, and there is no automatic turn off safety feature, and the exterior becomes blistering hot. However, for me, the most important characteristic is although the exterior does get warm, it never gets too hot to handle therefore there is NO risk of burning my hand as long it as I stay away from the front part of the nozzle where the steam comes out."
"Awesome product!"
"Some observations about using it: (1) only fill it about 2/3 full, otherwise water droplets will 'burp' over onto your material (2) I would only use distilled water unless you plan to clean it with, say vinegar, every so often (3) heats up quickly, usable within a minute."
"It's small and the tank is small BUT it works well, heats up quickly and delivers enough steam to dr-wrinle 1and 1/2 shirts."
"I had to fill the steamer several times throughout the process in order to fully steam four curtain panels, but that was not too surprising seeing as how they were brand new and extremely wrinkled."
"Not as fast as ironing, but it is nice to be able to get around curves without creating a crease."
"I needed something to get the wrinkles out of a few different dresses, and hate to iron."
"I love this handheld steamer."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I have worked with the J-4000 as someone who worked in retail but wanted something a little smaller but by the Jiffy brand as their steamers are amazing. The J-2000 is very easy to fill with distilled water and provides about an hour to an hour and a half of steaming (all depends on the fabric you are steaming, Linen will really absorb the water and even with the j-4000, I was refilling it in about 45 minutes when our linen shipments arrived). The J-2000 heats quickly (with the J-4000 you allow the water to heat and them click it over to steam about a 20 minute process."
"Buy the Jiffy 2000 as a garment steamer to make your clothes look good."
"Go with the metal head it acts like an iron if needed. In theory, I also believe the metal head works better because it retains more heat is hotter when steaming up close."
"When it finally broke, I replaced it with this one and am happy with my new steamer."
"Does what it’s suppposd to do, remove wrinkles!"
"All the parts on the Jiffys are replaceable and it appears pretty simple to take apart and perform maintenance on it. We previously owned two other brand steamers (lots of cheap plastic - cheaper price) that succumbed to mineral deposits in a year or two (probably wouldn't have happened if we'd been more diligent in regularly flushing and cleaning them...but who wants to do that?)."
"I looked at the Rowentas because I loved my old unit, however I liked that that Jiffy was made in the U.S., had great reviews, and when I went into clothing stores they all seemed to have Jiffy's in their shops."
