The box provides bolts, washers, and an Allen wrench and the back of the headboard has pre-drilled holes. One person can do the job, but it's great to have someone to help you lift the headboard and hold it steady while bolting it to the bracket. I'm not concerned about it snapping off or cracking, as it's holding in place just fine, but this isn't the type of headboard you can lean against while you sit up in bed. You can modify this, though, as long as you're handy or know someone who accepts cookies for handyman services, so this is a great buy no matter what you end up doing with it."

"I hung it directly on the wall with the "Hangman Heavy-Duty Mirror and Picture Hanger with Walldog Anchorless Screws - Aluminum (HM-18D)" from Amazon (I purchased just one of the 18" hangers). The screws came with the hanging kit, so I didn't have to mess with buying the right size, etc. Update: 3/6/17-- The headboard has not budged one inch, it is still very securely mounted, and looks like new."
