"If I am able to find contact info for the company and can get a replacement, I will happily update this review to 5 stars. I was very happy to see that not only do they pay attention and read their customers reviews, but also that when they see a problem they address it. After the first one stopped working I bought a different one because I absolutely loved diffusing essential oils. The other one I bought is nicer appearance wise (it is wood and glass and just looks better in my opinion) but it is much louder than this one. My daughter has been keeping this one in her bedroom at night and I LOVE that I can turn on the lights without running the diffuser. If she's sick or having problems sleeping I can diffuse essential oils, but most nights it's used as a nightlight. Before I bought this diffuser, I tried putting essential oils in our humidifier when someone was sick. I definitely don't recommend doing that unless your humidifier specifically states essential oils are safe to use with it."
"I go through it all in my video, as well as demonstrating use (so you will know how to work it without relying on the somewhat simplistic instructions), but to highlight: 1) MASSIVE Water Well - 500ml is upwards 5x the size of the typical ultrasonic diffuser. Also clearly marks the drain side, avoiding getting water into the Air Intake on the opposite side. 10) There is probably some gurgling when the water level gets particularly low (I assume this judging from the strength of the piezo-electric that needs to be had in order to shift the volume of water), but anywhere from 300 to 500ml, zero sound or even low level mist hissing. 11) And a final personal note from me, you do want to regularly clean any ultrasonic diffuser - considering the sizing capacity of this, I'd say every time you fill it, first run warm water into it, drain, then dry clean with a paper towel, removing any oil build-up/residue. If more in depth cleaning is desired, like the piezo-electric itself, warm water and some citric acid, letting it steep for 20 minutes, drain and once again dry clean. :). -- I received this as a complimentary oil diffuser with the aim of hopefully elucidating features and drawbacks that may help you ultimately decide what fits your needs and budget best."

With a true HEPA filter that you replace once a year (opposed to once a month) it would save money in the long run. Set up was easy straight out of the box, and I put it out of traffic areas in the house. In fact with it on high I noticed a tag on the other side of the room (directly across) was moving on one of the toys yesterday as I was cleaning. I am super excited at the thought of having better air quality in the house so we dont have as many issues, and I know it will take probably a good month for me to be able to judge that (and trust me I keep up with our flair ups b/c my son sees a specialist so I can tell you if it will make a difference or not). Sorry took me so long to come back and update =) Fortunately if you see below I did give a heads up three weeks in we still loved it. Within the first month I stopped waking up with a stuffy nose, and it was taking particles out of the air so I wasn't seeing as much dust. We have since moved to a larger place, that has more sq footage in the den, and also two open doorways leading to other rooms. I think a big contributor to not catching it is because we had this unit running on high with the uv light."

"A full container isn't that heavy, about 13.5 lbs, to carry with the single handle and to dump. I have a very large basement that had a high humidity of 60-70% or so it would fill the 13.1 container pints within the day, 12-24 hours. It works best in warmer weather (70's) which is when the humidity is high and mold can grow, warm and moist. I used the bucket for about 2 weeks to try it out and then I switched to the continuous drain tube which I connected a piece of clear vinyl tube (1 1/4 inch outer dia, 1 inch inner dia) from Home Depot which I connected to a "T" connector that I installed on my A/C condensation line that runs outside."

"The humidity sensor must be placed in the reservoir, because as soon as the fan clicks off, the humidity readout immediately starts climbing quickly. The poor sensor placement in the design makes the unit think it is 55% when it truly isn't. So it will click off at 45, then 10 min later it thinks its 55, the unit will click on, and immediately when the air flow is resumed, the sensor sees that its not as high as it thought, and you'll see the readout drop quickly back down. This unit could actually use a ton less energy if the sensor was placed in a location to get more accurate readings (maybe in a isolated chamber with vents directly outside of the unit, instead of INside the unit where all the water is collecting?)."

"The last thing I tried before this was a radiator heater, which would've worked well had my AC not been leaking cold air all over the apartment. This heater heats up the entire apartment (not sure the exact size, but a small one bedroom one kitchen) perfectly. Also, the problem with the heating mentioned in my second edit still stands: I was only able to bring the room up to 65 degrees with another heater I was running.
