Find Best Price at Amazon"Compared to other pour-over coffee filters, this stands out for its built-in fine metal filter. The biggest benefit of this metal filter over the paper filters is that paper filters absorb a lot of the oils that add a richer taste to the coffee. The metal filter is fine enough that there is only a small amount of sediment at the bottom of the cup. Finally, as with any pour over filter, you need to be prepared to do a few other things if you want to get the most out of your coffee."
"Plus I use a special coffee with no acid, so I need to be able to brew it mysel and not use a hotel prepackaged coffee since so many hotels have switched to Keurigs with the k-cups."
"I do get some very fine sludge in the bottom of the pot, because I tend to stir the grounds while pouring the water. Mine came with a tilt, which is annoying, but it only slightly affects the filling of water, so I didn't take off a star for it."
"I don't understand the reviews about this filter clogging but note that I have the newest model."
"If the fine mesh clogs then a good soak in a vinegar solution or coffee machine cleanser clears it up."
"No coffee grinds get through the mesh (with a classic coffee grind - I haven't tried an espresso grind) and the design is convenient for different containers."
"I'll start with the negative, which is, that I felt the taste of my coffee just wasn't as good using this as using a coffee maker with filter. The positives are, it's a great product overall and I will continue to use it at times (but I admit, I reverted back to a coffee maker)."
"Very nicely made I have been using this daily now for a month and now I pefer this instead of my French press!"

"It's nice not to have to use filters, but you still have to empty and rinse this one with each use."
"Fits perfectly in my coffee maker, and I love that I don't have to buy filters any more!"
"We use it for pre-ground coffee beans and works great."
"I returned it and got this one and it is the same size as the other, so I am a bit irked that they are suggested to be bought together."
"I have a 12 cup Hamilton Beach coffee pot which did not come with a basket."

It does not absorb any essential oils like a paper filter does, and results in a richer better-tasting coffee. The double filter consists of tiny laser-cut holes and a stainless steel mesh on top. Fill a kettle with hot water (preferably at around 195-200 Fahrenheit) and slowly pour in a circular motion. "Sole complaint is that the brown rubber rim is not attached as firmly as you might hope, and if you're not careful, it can come loose while you are, say, transporting a filter of very hot grounds to dump in the trash."
"I've been primarily using small 2-3 cup Chemex with paper filters for years."
"I’ve been having a problem with the paper filters adding a ‘flavor’ to my coffee. My coffee tastes like my COFFEE again."
"Also good for making a single cup in a mug or making coffee into a thermos."
"Use with hand-pour coffee set up (not Chem), which in itself delivers the best-tasting coffee ever."
"This will save me money and time since I won't have to buy paper filters."
"It produced a clean cup of coffee faster than the paper filters."

Find Best Price at Amazon"It changes the game: 1) Easy to use, easy to clean, doesn't require elaborate rituals. 2) Makes REALLY GOOD coffee, that can be easily adjusted to suit your taste. 3) It's FREAKING CHEAP compared to owning a whole counter full of coffee appliances (trust me, I've been there). 4) It's portable. The more time you spend reading this, the longer until Aeropress changes your life. Worse, sometimes hot coffee makes it past, and spurts out the top all over your hand. Googling, it looks like this does happen to people from time to time, and Aerobie do make a replacement part, but apparently you have to call and order it - it's not available on Amazon or Aerobee's website that I can find. Two people wearing out a coffee appliance in 3 or 4 months is kind of ridiculous. I'm not going to stop using this, and I do still believe it's the single best way to make coffee, but I am pretty disappointed. I'll report back in a few months when the second unit has a similar volume through it, or once the first one hits the next ~500 cups. So, even once it's worn you can kind of still use it, but with an extra step that only works some of the time."
"My wife sat on the couch, notoriously hard to buy presents for. We have a french press, a stovetop espresso percolator, and now the AeroPress. You can make your coffee, clean it, and put it all back neatly in about 2 minutes. Every piece of the kit is well made, and I can't imagine any of it breaking unless I ran over it in my truck. Pros: + Quality product. + Great tasting espresso. + Easy to clean. + Fun to use. + Look like a cool hipster when you make it this way. + It all fits together neatly when you put it away. Cons: - Not glass, so I sometimes wonder if any of the flavor is tainted by the plastic heating up. Our french press has been put back in the cabinet, and the espresso percolator has been shelved like a forgotten childhood toy."
"It's faster than a crappy Mr. Coffee, easier and more forgiving than a pour over like the Hario V60 and more durable than anything else I've ever used, besides of course a Turkish coffee brewing pot. When I want to make a coffee, I simply pour a measure of the coffee extract into a cup, cut with either iced or hot water and enjoy my quick, dead simple brew. If you travel and hate using hotel coffee and coffee makers, take this on your next trip, use the in-room coffee maker to heat up bottled water and use the Aerobie's coffee cavity to hold your coffee safe for travel. Learn where your coffee grinds should reach vertically in the brewer and free pour your coffee, stir the brewing grinds with the spoons or straws made available in most hotel rooms."
