I couldn't believe that the bearings could be bad already so I cleaned it, oiled it, and even punched it a few times over the winter but it just got worse. It's $140 to replace which irks me after one winter but the sound was so bad that we started using the stove without the blower on because of the noise. For the price I don't think you can beat this stove as a basic small house heater that won't smoke out you or your neighbors (EPA certified)."

Their manual says that it takes 15-30 minutes before the sensor/fan starts. I would look for a fireplace with a blower that can be started manually also, not just by the sensor."
"I would say the construction is top notch; no corners seemed to be cut on materials or assembly. Wood makes a huge difference. It's in my 600sf living room, and it does a fine job bring the temp from 68 to around 70-74, depending on how much wood is burning. FWIW, this is installed into an existing exterior chimney, with a stainless (round) liner, a sealed cap, and roxul packed in where the liner goes into the chimney."
