"Like everyone who owns a Dyson, you think the expensive price tag equals quality. I was hesitant at the price tag considering it was relatively half priec of my previous vacuum. He referred me to a website that does third party testing on vacuum cleaners. I noticed it brought the pile on the carpet back to life and wasn't too loud."
"I will be honest, this wasn't my first choice when I went vacuum shopping, but it won me over. Our cleaning lady has raved about hers for so long, I thought I'd give it a try. I like the lift away feature the Rotator Professional has to make vacuuming the stairs that much easier! When my Shark first arrived, I was impressed with the size and weight of the box. We have one room that is high traffic and the carpet gets blah fast. Wow...I could not believe the cup of dog hair and dirt it picked up! A simple push of the button and you can go from hardwood straight to carpet! The only thing that I miss with this vacuum is the wider width of the path. I am very happy and looking forward to a long lasting relationship with my vacuum!"
"As I write this review, you are able to download a pdf copy of the warranty from within the amazon product description. It almost appears as if they have accumulated enough positive reviews to disregard the promises of their warranty and/or the effects of a negative review like this one...perhaps if enough people click that this review is helpful, it will rise to a prominent position so that more buyers can make an informed decision. Following is a transcript of my conversation with their customer service for your own assessment: Chat started: 2017-08-15 04:51 PM UTC. (04:51:19 PM) Visitor 37898665 is now known as Joe P. (04:51:19 PM) Joe P: I have a Shark Rotator Professional (NV 501 31) purchased from amazon on 12/8/2014 with 5 year warranty. (04:57:13 PM) Pauline: I do apologize, the floor nozzle is not covered under warranty. You would need to purchase the floor nozzle on our website."
"The worst part is that they stick their customers with paying the shipping costs to replace products that are under warranty."

"My wife and I own a cleaning company catering to mid to high end residences. At first we were disappointed because: - the vacuum felt top heavy. - the lift away hose was too short. - the canister was to hard to clean. - the stick was too tall and couldn't be adjusted. After using on cleaning jobs at other homes, here is the reality: - the weight posed no major issue. - the hose extended further than originally thought. - the canister can be washed or rinsed after emptying. - the stick could use an adjustable height but was tolerable. We now recommend the Shark as the best current bagless convertible. One more comparison to other models: - the Shark tangles less than canister vacs like the Miele. - the Dyson in our opinion is bulky, heavy, and is overrated."
"The added agitation and uncompromised suction provide awesome cleaning power for upholstery furniture as well as cat trees, small areas where a powerhead is too clunky like stairs, etc. Bottom line it does an excellent job with cleaning carpets and hard floors as well as miscellaneous things where all the attachments come in handy. Plus the brushroll config really bites into the carpet and self propels this thing in canister config which paradoxically doesn't do as good a job with deep cleaning. It seperates all the larger and lighter particles but fine dust is not seperates by the cyclone and dives straight through the primary mesh filter and onto the secondary foam cylinder filter. Now this is fine dust and most of it is captured by this filter and the rest by the felt pad and post motor HEPA but the fact remains that eventually this machine will start to lose suction a lot sooner than u think. You need to be periodically dusting the foam filter after any appreciable amount of vacuuming. Also it doesn't perform well with a large amount of heavy particles at one time for instance I suctioned up a bunch of spilled kitty litter and it sucked it right up but the litter ended up in the wrong part of the bin where the filter is and not in the collection area. The cyclone technology in the Cinetic is so good that the fine particles never find their way to the filter that's why Dyson can claim that it's filter less. On low pile carpet mode there is slightly less suction than on hard floor mode. The bottom line is it's a very good cleaning machine for a price that no other manufacture can compete with. And if you vacuum well going smooth and slow and repeating, you can clean almost as well with this Shark."
"The vacuum operates like a traditional upright vacuum or it can be placed on a caddy that also carries several attachments and used as a canister vacuum. The bright headlight highlights dog hair that could be missed and is especially valuable in hardwood floor mode. The hardwood floor mode includes a machine washable microfiber pad: dust and sweep in one pass! Anyone looking for one of the best and most versatile vacuums on the market would do well to check out this Shark unit."

"I love the lift off feature because, as it turns out, there is so much more to vacuum besides the floor! The first thing I did was to vacuum an 8' x 10' area rug that I had vacuumed with the Dyson only 3 days prior. I vacuumed and vacuumed and vacuumed (due to the fleas, trying to get as many eggs as possible)...I vacuumed for 7 hours!"
"- all nozzles (except crevice tools) swivel- really easy to maneuver! - converts to a light canister- hand held or still on the rolling nozzle base. - comes with lots of attachments (I got the extended reach model NV350E which came with the two on-board tools- 6" crevice and duster, the 24" extended crevice tool, the air-powered pet turbo nozzle, the funky looking non-motorized bare floor nozzle and the electric motorized standard nozzle. - can turn the beater bar off on the motorized nozzle with the 2-notch power switch so can use the primary nozzle for bare floors too. - the base rolling nozzles can be attached to the hose/wand-end in canister mode too (note the beater bars are not powered in this config.). - can use the hose in canister mode with or w/out the built-in extension wand attached to it. - the cord hook holds the cord securely. - the beater-bars actually help self-propel the vacuum on rugs. - this might be a con for some, but I like the smaller width nozzle head that it has. - the beater bars auto-shut-off when you vacuum up something that jams them and saves the motor and belt. - washable lifetime filters I know I'll never replace. - sealed system- I'll update on whether I notice the advantages of this long-term. - it easily topples over when using the hose because it is so light and the hose is too short or not stretchy enough, and it's attached to the canister with an L-shaped pivoting elbow located too high on the canister. (Can easily add an extension cord though). - the one-way direction of the beater bars does tend to groom rugs much more on the pull but that's what helps self-propel the vacuum, so I'll take the tradeoff. - the canister is bulky/tall when trying to get under furniture so can't get past the nozzle head. - only storage for two tools on-board. - the cord hook should be higher- on the handle botttom. - The Hoover Windtunnel duster attachment fits right on the crevice tool tip in addition to the wand, so I could easily just throw on the duster while doing baseboards etc., w/out having to remove the crevice tool. I learned a few other cool things about this vacuum: 1) The hose elbows on both the canister and handle pivot."
"Just using the attachments, if you're not careful, you can pull this thing over, and it will fall on it's back (it doesn't take much force - this will happen with normal usage). That would not be a problem except that the tank inlet elbow will break when the unit is pulled over - especially if there is some weight in the canister when it falls. You can see that this is a potentially significant point of failure, and it's difficult to get repair or replacement parts."

"It reminds me of things I bought in the past which I wasn't sure I needed, but once I started using them, wondered why I had waited so long. I've watched it disappear under low end tables and thought, "uh, oh, I'm going to have to rescue it from that tight space", and then it whirs, reverses, backs, jogs, tilts, and exits the maze and keeps on cleaning. Note to those who have trouble connecting it to their home wifi network: I had the same problem, but found I needed to stand very close (4-5 feet) to the unit when I started the network sync up, then everything went smoothly."
"We have a mixture of laminate floors, tile and carpet in our house, and we have 4 cats and 2 dogs that continuously shed so keeping the floors clean is a challenge. I use the DEEBOT about 3 times a week to clean the entire house and it keeps my floors super clean. I use the Spot Option every day to pick up the cardboard from the cat scratcher that my cat shreds, it's super easy to direct it to the spot I want cleaned and let it do it's thing. The DEEBOT is very easy to empty and the trash bin holds a lot for such a tiny vacumn and the filters are easy to clean, they even provide you with a special tool to clean the filters and roller."
"Also the fact that Roombas are well known to not do a great job on carpet unless you buy the really expensive one and even then some people complain. Upon arrival I unboxed it and noted the high quality engineering, extra side brushes and spare filter. I let it run for about 30 minutes, then checked the pickup bin and was horrified at the amount of stuff this thing got off my man-cave carpet. Not a huge deal of course, but added a small 1-2lb piece of metal in the bottom would really improve the feel and stability of the station. Reluctantly I decided to check the catch bin and again was horrified at the amount of debris it picked up.. Where did it find all of those toenail clippings??? My wife was 100% impressed with how incredibly well it cleaned our first floor - a mix of rugs and hardwood. (Android) I had great difficulty getting the Deebot to connect to the app then realized why - I had AP Isolation on between SSID's.. Alternatively, you can put the Deebot into WLAN mode and connect directly to it from your phone/app using it's built in hotspot. So much so, I purchased a second one a couple days later since my wife refused to give up the little guy for the main floor. We have a dog and a cat, and kids.. We literally have to vacuum everyday to keep the house feeling and looking clean. I can imagine saving hundreds of hours of work over a year or two AND having a much cleaner home."

"I never thought I’d be writing a review on a vacuum cleaner, but in this case after having had Dyson's for over 15 years this one earns a mention. My reviews are normally pretty long-winded, but I feel there's a lot to cover here for a product you hope to only buy once and service you for many years. The Dyson is no champion in this department either as it’s entirely plastic and I’ve replaced pieces many times over the years. This seems to be rugged enough in places that matter, and I’m pleased to find the extension tube is made of metal. Overall the weight and size make it an excellent choice for those with petite builds or senior citizens. Some parts are quite handsome, but the general appearance of the tank is industrial at best, and just a bit cluttered over all. Ergonomically the Dyson has obviously had some top flight industrial engineers working on it, as everything is snug, streamline and compact in the ways all the parts fit together. Once you know how to reconfigure the Dyson to extend the hose, it makes sense but does have a bit of a learning curve. The “Lift-Away” canister allowing it to detach from the base is absolutely brilliant, and makes cleaning things like stairs, blinds, ceiling cobwebs etc. Here it’s on the side, and winding the cord really works best only going one direction as the lower clip is tucked in and a bit out of the way. Additionally, the red 2 position on/off rocker switch looks like it came right off the parts rack of a radio shack. A higher pitched whirring sound with the Shark can be heard opposed to the deeper Dyson Roar on the carpet. Another nice feature the Shark has is a little ring you can turn to cut down on the suction if it’s becoming too hard to push. On my cut pile carpet the Shark leaves brush marks, think of a rake on sand opposed to just the flat sweep I'm used to with a Dyson. Cleaning/Hardwood Floors. The supplied Dust Away attachment with the detachable pad is a clever little extra that acts like a Swiffer on steroids. It works quite well right up to the wall, as well as sucking up all that dust and grit that manages to make its way in between gaps of the plank style hardwood floors. You will still need to do the occasional wet mopping as things just get stuck on the floors, but for regular cleaning this is a nice option to have. Pros. - inexpensive. - lightweight. - easy to use. - swivel base easy to maneuver. - incredibly powerful. - suction control. - fantastic filter system. - bag free design. - 2 position power switch (motorized brush head on/off). - motorized brush head with blockage/jam indicator light. - motorized brush head viewing window. - portable lift-away canister for easy cleaning of stairs or hard to access areas. - hardwood/tile floor attachment. - pet upholstery attachment. - 30’ cord. - easy cord release. - 5 year warranty. Cons. - questionable aesthetics/ergonomics. - fussy design. - some materials a little flimsy. - no soft brush attachment. - dustbin door release at bottom means possible contact with contents. - motorized head only 11” wide. Wow, that’s it. While I’m not a huge allergy sufferer, I had no idea how much crap was being blown back in the air with the Dyson. Combine these features with a lightweight, easy to maneuver and hard-sucking product they’ve fulfilled their promise. While ergonomically lacking behind the Dyson, they’ve hit a good balance of features and performance, cutting corners where it would be least noticed and giving the consumer every bit from their hard earned dollar. I was dubious of Shark because of infomercials etc., but now I know they’re not throwing their money away on fancy packaging or industrial design with questionable returns."
"I bought the vacuum a month ago and so far, the suction is amazing (especially compared to my old piece o' crap vacuum that I purchased at that chain store with all the people shopping in their PJs)! It has lots of features (hardwood cleaning and included attachments too), it is lightweight, and it is very versatile!"
"It makes me laugh when I read reviews where people complain about how often they have to empty the dust canister. You had to reach into the dust canister on the older Lift Away and yank out dirt-encrusted clumps of hair and carpet fibers every time you tried to empty it. Even though the original Lift Away was advertised as having a HEPA filter, until people started complaining, it did not come with one unless you bought it directly from Shark. - 30 foot long power cord - 5 feet longer than the original Lift Away. Shark is finally using better quality electrical cord so it no longer bends and kinks. Turn the beater bar off when you are cleaning solid surface flooring so you don't mar the finish. It easily removes pet fur from furniture, stairs, bedding, etc., and is great for cleaning your car. - The short hose that leads from the body of the vacuum to the beater bar head and provides the suction no longer comes loose like it does on the first Lift Away. With the press of a button, you can use the shorter hose with your attachments or the longer extension wand. It tips over every single time and makes using the Lift Away mode a real workout. The Dust Away attachment with the microfiber pads is for solid surface flooring under furniture, not for carpets. A couple of LED lights would help in dark areas without adding a lot of weight. This tool does an outstanding job getting pet hair off of furniture and stairs and it's terrific for cleaning your car. I spend far too much time unwinding hair from the beater bar and dislodging caked on dander and dust from the guts of the turbo brush. Shark should take a good long look at the Dyson mini turbine brush (smaller, lighter, better designed, and better built) and learn something. Shark finally appears to have noticed the years of negative reviews of their abysmal customer service. I called recently and they actually listened to my problem and were quite pleasant about it (huge improvement right there), but nothing was resolved. The call ended with an automated customer satisfaction survey where I could now rate my unsatisfactory experience. The Lift Away Pro is a decent quality vacuum cleaner, so you just have to hope that you won't need to deal with customer service. Buy your Lift Away Pro locally and give it a real workout while you can still return it to the store if you have problems. You can exchange it or get your money back without having to pay huge shipping costs or go without a vacuum cleaner for weeks like you would if you dealt directly with Shark. Life's too short to deal with the hassle of trying to make Shark honor a warranty."

"This unit has so much suction that it will lift up area rugs while vacuuming. It's very easy to maneuver while wearing the vacuum and areas that we had to go over two and three times with a standard vacuum are now clean after one pass. Rooms that took an hour to vacuum, are now being done in 30-45 minutes. When you compare it too the Wide Area Windsor vacuum that I just replaced with this ProTeam unit, I can honestly say I'll never buy another Wide Area vac again. After using this vacuum for almost 2 months, I'm ready to buy another one for a new cleaning contract we just signed."
"I love my back pack vaccum!"
"My sisters house was in the Middletown fire area and she used this unit, and still uses it, to clean her house and property from windblown Ash that may have asbestos in it."
"Awesome suction for hard floors."
"I've now bought TWO of these amazing Vacuums."
"works great a bit hard to adjust the pipes."
"The only reason why I put four stars is because the floor brush it comes with hardly has an form of a brush and that may scratch the hard surfaces!"

"Just place the vac on the stand to charge; Dyson: plugin adapter; no accessory stand. Dirt Canister. BD main body is the canister; door is clear to see contents; access simply by pulling the handle to the door and pouring out the contents. Dyson: clear cylinder shaped canister; easy to see how full it is; but to empty you have to slide the release which is in an ackward position that is hard to reach and get hold of. Ergonomics. BD the handle is centered over the top of the vac; weight is well balanced; vac is round. Dyson: Handle is at the backend of the vac like holding a pistol; weight is all sticking straight out; overall look is square. Both have their advantages: BD feels more comfortable long use, Dyson can reach into places better. The lower power works fairly well but true comparison with the DB is the max level. But with the Dyson on max power the running time is cut to a third according to their own feature list. Noise. Neither is horribly loud; according to the free (but hardly accurate) decibel meter on my iPhone both register about 95; literally they are about equal except the Dyson is a higher pitch. The Dyson's straight on design makes it easier to get into places and you don't have to bend over quite as much."
"It has a noticeably lighter vacuum portion, slightly larger handle, a higher pitch sound, a slighter larger (blue) "Max" button, and a charge indicator near the trigger. Three important notes on this machine: 1) It is ONLY the handheld "dust-buster" version that come with a brush (shown) and a pointed vacuum attachment for small items and corners. This device is expensive but worth the money, and you can build you collection of attachments to fit most small home/office needs."
"After I had it for about 2 months, it stopped working. This time they told me it wasn't under warranty any longer (even though I sent it to them when it was under warranty and they didn't fix it). The dyson rep. said that was probably the original problem, but since filters weren't covered under warranty, they didn't fix it, or bother to send a new one. So, for almost $200.00 I got a cordless vac that worked for about 2 months!"
"When we got the Dyson V6 it never worked more than 2 days."
"It was pretty to look at and sounded like a an airplane engine (pro and con)."

"I am the crazy dog lady who will take in abandoned, unwanted dogs. I bought this because my dog groomer recommended using the blower feature to blow out shedding dog coats more easily than brushing and more cheaply than taking multiple dogs to the groomer every two months."
"Had purchased different brand which had short Rigid hose and one narrow floor attachment. ceiling and HE PA bag great for floor sanding dust, joint compound and cleaning pellet stove ash."
"Attaching the wheels, handles, and dust filter inside the unit was easy. Although, it has a user's manual that probably covers various models of Shop Vac units, so some of the details and steps in the manual do not apply. For sucking up saw dust in the garage, the dust filter inside the vac does an excellent job containing all the dust. I was able to find a fitting (a 2 1/4 to 2 1/2) where the 2 1/4 fitting directly plugs into the shop vac and I have a hose connected to the 2 1/2 end which leads to the wood tools."
"I create lots of dust and wood chips."
"The only thing that I miss in this Shop Vac is the plug in cord is very short, but I would still buy this Shop Vac because of its size and suction."
"This product is excellent for what I purchased it for; sucking up sawdust generated from power tools during use."
"We only had that happen once and it was because the lid wasn't on properly."
"The accessories clip where you attach the different vacuum attachments is right below the air output vent."

"That goes down to 25 with the motorized tool, and down to 7 minutes on “max mode.” The canister can also hold a good amount of dirt, and has a new mechanism that scrapes the sides of the bin when being emptied. The new soft roller cleaner head works well for hardwood floors, but on corners, I find myself having to go back with the crevice tool to finish the job. I use the direct drive cleaner head for low pile carpets, but the mini motorized tool works better for shag rugs (and car floor mats/upholstery)."
"Got mine yesterday, charged it, vacuumed my downstairs with it this morning. By the time I was finished, the skin on the knuckle at the base of my thumb was worn off from being rubbed on the handle above the switch where there is a little plastic "seam"."
"I was familiar with the V6 so I kept waiting for the battery to exhaust it's charge but it kept going. We have a long haired German Shepard and had to empty the V8 three times."
"I find it hard to believe that a company that spends a great deal of time marketing the design excellence of its product would fail so wholly at something so basic as phone customer service and parts replacement. In November I began the process of trying to replace the part thinking a simple call would take care of things, but was stymied on a few occasions by hold times above 30 minutes, and it wasn’t until December 17 when I finally had the time to 'wait it out' and speak to a representative. After he apparently pulled a demo unit out to see what I was talking about (I offered to email photos) and tried to convince me that the crimp obstructing nearly 50% of the hose diameter was part of the design, he created an order for a part and informed me that in 5-8 business days my problem would be solved. After more than 50 minutes, I reached a representative who then had to place me on a further hold to tell me that parts were not available for the vacuum since it was so new, and that in order to replace the part, I would have to replace the entire vacuum. I was told without any humor that replacing the part cannot be completed without my FIRST going to a UPS store with the vacuum and its attachments, receiving a tracking number, and then CALLING customer service back. Even glacially slow-to-adopt USPS allows callers to opt out of physical hold times and receive a phone call back in the order they were received."
