Find Best Price at Amazon"One little quirk: with a rotating thimble mic, I often set the mic to the diameter I want to achieve, zero it, and then, as I turn on the lathe, the mic gives me exactly how much I need to remove to get to that diameter (i.e. the mic will read "0"when I get to the diameter)."
"I bought a set of these, as I typically run parts up to four inches o.d."
"It is as i wish, it is strong, fast and accurate."
"Works great, wish I bought one sooner."
"Another great tool great customer service works well and it also has the USB connection for my computer."
"Works great."
"The prices on the auction website for used micrometers is roughly the same as this iGaging micrometer, but I decided to buy one to see if it could match name brand micrometers and if the snap lever made inspecting faster and easier. The iGaging SpeedMic starts to differentiate itself with a nonrotating anvil that reduces the risk of a part getting twisted out of the anvils while taking measurements. The snap lever eliminates the clumsy procedure of trying to hold the part and micrometer while twisting a thimble on the far end of the micrometer. The SpeedMic saves even more time by allowing the anvils to sweep its entire range in a fraction of a second where the "fast" way of moving the anvils with normal micrometers is by rolling the thimble on your arm. I compared it against a used digital Mitutoyo micrometer, a brand new digital Mitutoyo and analog Insize micrometers that were literally unboxed to do this comparison. The measurements taken between all four micrometers were the same."
"I would slowly open the spindle the entire way and it would read something like 0.6 inches or 15 mm rather than something close to 1 inch or 25 mm. This micrometer looks great, and it feels great in the hand (minus the spindle action), but if it does not take accurate measurements, it is useless. This tool also comes with a calibration record. With some refinement (in addition to making accurate measurements), I think this tool would be great."

"I haven't actually checked to see if it is accurate yet, as I haven't had to do anything where that level of accuracy is needed, but I have used it on multiple occasions and found successive measurements to be consistent."
"It feels extremely high quality and the measurement are very repeatable."
"Extremely accurate, tested it with a feeler gauge and claibration was perfect."
"I did not need one that often and it seems like a good quality one to have around for when I needed it."
"Precision value, an excellent addition to my tool chest for those moments when a precise measurement is needed."
"Measures accurately to 0.0005, what more can I say."

"Awesome and accurate little micrometer."
"I was looking at iGauging and some other options which looked pretty good, but when it's only a little bit more to get a genuine Mitutoyo where you really don't have to stress as much about getting a good one that is in spec, it's worth it."
"I bought it to replace a much more expensive Interapid /Brown and Sharp micrometer that simply failed."
"Like the stars say, I love it...but, no cut-off switch."
"excellent quality and great workmanship from Japan."
