Find Best Price at Amazon"If you want it to last backbutter every tile and make sure there is thinset supporting the entire tile with no hollow spots. 2. most professional tilers would only use leveling spaces on large tiles or very uneven floors. If your floor is relatively flat and level and you are using 12" or smaller square tiles you do not need leveling spacers. If you have hard time getting a tile to go down, slide it a half inch away from the tile your leveling to and wipe a little thinset out with your finger or a sponge and slide it back pushing down on it as you do. If you are using leveling spacers you should always use a 1/2 trowel and maybe even a little extra backbutter for uneven subfloors, no matter what the manufacturing recommendations for the tile. Leveling spacers work by pushing one tile down while pulling the other tile up pushing mortar from the high tile to the low as it does. It's a waste of time and money to rely completely on the leveling spacers and not take the time to make sure all the tiles are actually level. They will help YOU to get a trouble set level if you use them properly and understand that you are the leveler and they are just one of your leveling tools."
