Put this all together with how hard it is to turn around, and small jobs moving things from one place to another like setting a table can be very challenging. Height – I purchased the KneeRover because the knee pad goes to 1” higher than in the DV8. In fact, if the person using the scooter is not relatively healthy, the lack of effective brakes could be a major problem. !, smaller turning radius, knee pad not as comfortable, handle folding mechanism hard to engage. But even with this, if I needed to turn around, I found I was just as likely to put my healthy foot down and lift the front of the scooter to turn and pivot. Width of handles and depth of pad and handles – The handles on the DV8 are more widely spaced and there is an inch or two of more room between the handles and the knee pad, which felt more comfortable to me. Hopefully someone will manufacture a scooter in the future with KneeRover’s height, disc brakes, and basket and DV8’s wider wheel base, knee pad, folding mechanism, and wider and deeper handles."
"I ordered this and the first day's experience with it was as diametrically opposite of the crutching situation as I could imagine possible. With small flicks of my good foot, I was moving QUICKLY over long distances. My coworkers took to calling me Speed Racer, in reference to that cartoon with the Mach 5 race car. It felt like the little kid inside was breathing highly oxygenated air. The optics of a dude in a suit racing around the cube farm, mischievously grinning ear-to-ear, probably would have left the security guards hysterical with laughter. Picking up a few items for lunch and bringing them back to the desk was returned to being brain-dead easy. If you are going to ride over uneven surfaces (such as city sidewalks), you need to move your knee to the back of the pad and you need to lean back as well, so that you are unloading weight from the front wheels. If you are putting too much weight on the front wheels, and you hit a bump, things can get really ugly. The first couple of days will be a little slow because you are not used to bearing weight on the knee. I set my seat slightly lower than standing height, so that my weight would naturally transfer from one leg to the other, almost like walking."

Opened up, the holder projects 4 1/2" from the tube (and about 1/4" out on the opposite side). Folded up, the cup holder projects about 1 1/2" from the tube on the holder side (and still 1/4" on the opposite side). My rollator uprights tilt backward, so the only way to get the cup holder horizontal was to mount it on the left or ride side of the tube."

I asked my doctor, prior to surgery about the knee walker and he had limited knowledge of it , but said for me to try local medical appliance places. I ended up purchasing the Drive walker from Amazon after finding prices locally of $700-+$1000!. I can go shopping, out to eat and even still go to the Y to roll on the indoor track and do upper body weight lifting. I also purchased a LED flashlight that attaches to the handle bars for late night trips in my house and also the Sunlite mesh bottom removable bicycle basket ( from amazon). This basket is a lifesaver, it carries about everything for me ( purse, water bottle, small amounts of groceries, laundry, paperwork, mail, etc). After 4 weeks of use I would like to offer the following tips/safety information: 1) The knee walker is close to perfect for rolling effortlessly on a smooth flat surface. Uneven pavement, gravel, rocks, cracks, thresholds(such as entering buildings), even raised painted places in parking lots will violently throw the front wheels. Hold on tight to both sides of the handlebars and keep your good foot on the ground 100% of the time in all situations. I ran the back wheel of mine into a pallet in a grocery store that I thought I had cleared and it almost threw me off. Handicap entrances to sidewalks tend to have hard knobby surfaces, I guess to prevent slippage, these can be tough to navigate on a knee walker. I have family members clean it before I use it in the house after returning home, They wipe the wheels with a wet cloth. 8) Be super careful on any downhill, even handicap small ramps going up to sidewalks."
"I purchased this knee scooter about 3 months ago, in anticipation of foot surgery. This review will also compare this type of knee scooter to those that do not have adjustable steering. The other one I used had a knee pad that could not be adjusted, and it was a bit too low to the ground. And if there is only one brake, then if that particular wheel is riding high even a little bit because your floors are uneven, then it will roll. But you can see in the photos that there are two cut outs in the knee pad running both ways. The reason is that you have to use a lot of arm strength to keep the front end straight. If a rock or a crack stops one of the front wheels, then the other has a tendency to turn because your forward momentum is still pushing the scooter. What would be ideal is if there was a locking mechanism so a knee scooter could have steering when you wanted it and not have it when you don't. The nonsteering one I had (sorry, borrowed it and don't know the brand) could be folded up like one of those simple child's strollers. The steering column breaks so it can fit sort of under the knee pad, but that's as far as it goes. When putting mine into the car the nature of the way it breaks down resulted in a broken brake handle. If you live where you need to use it on gravel a lot or outside on uneven surfaces, then I'd consider a less expensive one without steering. When you are supposed to not put weight on your foot or ankle, it's a lot easier to do this with the knee scooter than with the crutches."

Basic cane (shown on left in picture): this was issued by the hospital a few years ago as I was getting out of a wheelchair after pelvic fractures. "I had to use that because my balance was poor and I needed the support from this type of cane. If a cane were set on a large acorn or a pine cone it would roll & you may lose your balance. I also recommended they have a clamping device on the cane to hold it in the folded position. The Freedom Edition HurryCane has feet attached more securely and they implemented my clamping device idea. It is lighter, and it folds easier When I send their customer support a message they usually get back to me the same day! Another example of how committed to customer satisfaction they are is they asked me if I knew of anyone who would benefit from having a HurryCane. I told them I have a friend named Floyd who I felt would greatly benefit from a HurryCane. I know this has been a long review but I wanted to make sure I tell you about the fantastic features this All-Terrain Cane has. The other mechanical problem I had with it was the pin that is used to set the height was sheered off on day. When I checked my email Monday morning two associates with HurryCane had apologized profusely for what happened & they told me that they had already addressed the issue with that pin. I'm only telling you that if you want one that is guaranteed to work exactly like it is described you should buy it directly from the HurryCane company."
"I really like it so much more than my regular quad cane BUT there are some thing you need to be aware of before you buy the advantages of the cane outweighed the disadvantages for me but judge for yourself. Here you go: 1: The base of the cane is a bit smaller than the regular quad cane and for me it has a harder time sanding on its own, it falls frequently. No more struggling to get the cane in the car or walking without the cane to the backseat to get the cane you just get in fold it up and put it in you floorboard or even in the handy carry case it came with."
