Reviews
"Reading McCovey Chronicles can be very time-consuming, and when I read it at work I sometimes snort with laughter in a manner inappropriate to the workplace."
"In fact, the entire development of my time as a moderator at McCoveyChronicles has been fueled by my ability to ignore denigrating and trivializing criticism of Grant as I realize my dreams and my goals. However there is something compelling about Amazon's willingness to publish just about anything, and the sheer outrageous stupidity of many things some have said here that actually touches my proletarian and Democratic soul. I'm justifiably proud of saying that Grant is read by intellectual Giants fans and waitresses in trailer parks. And no, Grant has no intention of allowing any trusted moderator ever to distort, cut, or otherwise mutilate sentences that he has edited and re-edited, and organized and polished himself. But since the World Series win, we've been with him more closely than we have ever been in the course of this blog; his roster moves have been as sensible to our minds as we've ever felt - and Grant vocalizes that. For me, three articles a week, two which make me laugh -- usually the Select Your Own Scenario or the one with the funny graph -- or even the one where Russel Martin sucks it -- are all Grant needs to do to earn his hefty SBN salary. I'll never challenge your democratic freedom to do so, and yes, I'm answering you, but for what it's worth, be assured of the utter contempt I feel for you, especially those of you who want us to go and read YOUR blogs instead (and perhaps repeatedly?). Now, to touch on another narrative you'll find at this blog: In "Home Runs and Western Suns", Barry Zito's wanting to be a saint is a vision larded through and through with his characteristic vanity. It connects perfectly with his earlier ambitions to be an actor in Paris, a rock star in the modern age. Barry Zito's state of mind has always been an important theme in "Home Runs and Western Suns" - though it tends to get overshadowed by all the Huff/Burrell slash. There are many other themes and patterns in this work that I might mention -- the interplay between Buster Posey and Tim Lincecum, the invisible bond that doesn't "exist" in the eyes of the front office is a case in point. There is also the theme of the lack of towels available in the visitor's locker room at Petco Park, the place where human existence becomes so beguiling that hitters simply relinquish their power as if to a spell. But I leave it to readers to discover how this complex and intricate work of art establishes itself within a unique blog experience. And readers will say wonderful things about both McCoveyChronicles and "Home Runs and Western Suns" if they give them a chance. There are readers out there and plenty of them who cherish the individuality of each front page story on McCoveyChronicles which you so flippantly condemn. If this reaches one reader who is curious about Grant's work and shocked by the ugly reviews here, I've served my goals."
"It's a wonderfully insightful and unbiased site for mature and level-headed adults who place baseball in the proper perspective."
"After purchasing McCorver Chronicles for my Kankle brand reading device, I was delighted to find that the blood was indeed easy to remove from the carpet."
"There has to be more to life than lurking, at least I think so."
"For lunch today I had a tri-trip scramble with poblano peppers and cheese, and it came with really good potatoes and I also ordered a cappuccino."
"This is a must-have if you have a Kinkle."
"My favorite moderaters are Natto, Albert Pujols, and jponry."

"I don't expect to agree with them all the time, I would just rather not pull my hair out while trying to figure out what the writer is trying to convey. I don't expect content that I can get on half a dozen unprofessional fan sites, and I don't expect to read an article about a subject that broke in the normal papers previously and not have a fresh and in-depth approach that gives me new information ."
