Emmet Fox, author of "The Sermon on the Mount: The Key to Success in Life" was a New Thought spiritual leader of the early 20th century, famous for his large Divine Science church services held in New York City. Denying any interest in theology (there is no theology in the Bible, Fox argues), the author instead suggests that what Jesus was after was results: "Jesus explains to us what the nature of God is, and what our own nature is; tells us the meaning of life and of death; shows us why we make mistakes; why we yield to temptation; why we become sick, and impoverished, and old; and, most important of all, he tells us how all these evils may be overcome, and how we may bring health, happiness, and true prosperity into our lives." Fox puts it quite simply: "The Truth turns out to be nothing less than the amazing but undeniable fact that the whole outer world--whether it be the physical body, the common things of life, the winds and the rain, the clouds, the earth itself--is amenable to man's thought, and that he has dominion over it when he knows it."

The scope of this book runs from the beginning to the end of a relationship. Starting with attraction, Chandler works his way through each phase of romantic relationships: attraction, dating, courtship, wedding, sex, fighting, romance, and commitment. Overall Chandler gives a balanced, Biblical, and practical take on dating, marriage, and beyond. In the chapter on marriage ("Wedding Bells") Chandler says this: "I just see no reason to agree with the worldly romantic notion that every person has just one 'soul mate' out there waiting for him or her. Chandler's distinction between dating and courtship is also extremely helpful. He spells it out this way: dating is the "get to know you" phase of the relationship, and courtship is the "let's head toward marriage" phase of the relationship. Another strong point of the book is the dealing with marriage being a representation of Christ and the Church. Chandler also does a good job of not leave things in the theoretical sphere, but also offers practical advice throughout the book."
"This book walks the reader through God’s wisdom revealed through Solomon for relationship pursuit and marital bliss."
"Absolutely loved this booked and followed it with the video study."
"Matt Chandler speaks with a candid view on dating, sex, and marriage, and doesn't shy away from the messiness or the humor."

It was instantly healing to be reminded that I belonged to my Father and He longed for me when others chose to ostracize me. I became the desired object of the rhythmic literary work and I felt the longing of my Abba. The Holy Spirit used your book to weave the epic poetry of the Lord onto this human heart."
""The men and women who are truly filled with light are those who have gazed deeply into the darkness of their own imperfect existence." Brennan Manning has seen and experienced things that many Christians would distance themselves from. I was so moved by this work that I read it in one sitting hardly glancing from my Kindle."
"In typical Brennan Manning fashion, this book is written from the heart with what should be common knowledge among Christians, yet strikes with so much insight and cuts straight to the heart that you can't help but pause and really examine yourself."
"Pastor recommended this book glad he did, glad I listened!"
"This book will help take you from knowing about God's love for you, into a deeper experiencing of His Love."
"Forget about dead religion, true religion is summed up in one word, LOVE and love is Jesus Christ."
"Read not just the chapters, but linger on the questions that wrap up each teaching with an arrow to the heart."
"It was more like a devotional that took ideas from his other books (Abba's Child, Relentless Tenderness of Jesus Christ, Ragamuffin Gospel) and put them in compact pieces."
