Part 2, the 14 day meal plan, not only gives you the meal outline for the week for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner, but it gives you the nutritional breakdown of calories, fat, protein, carbs, fiber & net carbs, it then gives you what page to find the recipe on, THEN it gives you a weekly shopping list!"
"Great guide for beginners, has lots a info, and well researched material to help you reach your goals."
"There are tips on the best sweeteners (Swerve over Splenda), the oils you'll need, produce, canned and bottled items, pantry items, and meats. Each individual recipe gives an overall "keto quotient" (how close it fits the idea balance of fats, carbs, and protein) as well as what each serving contains in calories and the fats, carbs, and protein for those servings. Since I live alone I've also invested in more plastic bags and containers. The oils often melt at a little above room temperature so I put chocolate pieces in bags in the freezer and granola in the fridge in snack bags. There's a wide variety of tastes to help you learn your way through adapting the lifestyle to your tastes."

"The Chicken Parmesan and zoodles was wonderful (husband even loved it), the peanut butter fudge fat bomb is addicting, and the spice-orange spice mug cake is my new "go to" breakfast."
"Easy to follow and pretty simple ingredient list."
"Many of her recipes now rotate thru my weekly meal cycle ... especially the Buffalo Chicken Meatloaf stuffed with Blue Cheese (I make it roll-a-tini style) and the slow cooker lemon rosemary chicken is absolutely worthy of company! Vegetables aren't my strong suit, but using her recipes to replace our beloved noodles with zoodles has really raised the culinary bar in my house."
"This is a great book for the chef in all of us."
"Absolutely awesome recipes...very easy and ranges from budget to budget!"
"Good recipes and useful tips."
"However, I was hitting a slump when it came to creative keto meals, so I wasn't eating the same 4 meals all day every single day. I checked every single day's meal plan for the first week, and not a single day of those meal plans balanced up to keto-safe macros, nor do all of the day's meals have enough calories in them to sustain even a perfectly weighted human being throughout the course of the day. Day 1: 48.5% Fat, 45.5% Protein, 6% Carb, 1178 Calories. Day 2: 62.5% Fat, 33.5% Protein, 5% Carb, 1543 Calories (this day is as close to keto-safe macros as it gets). Day 3: 45.5% Fat, 47% Protein, 7% Carb, 975 Calories (!!!). Day 7: 34.5% Fat, 60% Protein, 5% Carb, 1376 Calories. In order to meet keto-safe macros, you would need to find some way to, at the most, double your fat intake for the entire day, and that doesn't include the big caloric gap in 3 of those days. But I mean, beyond taking the time to figure out which snacks might balance the macros, or how you could adjust the serving sizes of each of the day's meals to meet macros and caloric requirements, I would venture to say the entire 4-Week Meal Plan is not only utterly useless, but blatantly dangerous for newcomers to the diet that do not know any better, or don't want to take the time/don't know how to macro-check each plan. TL:DR - Don't use the Meal Plan in the back of the book, remember that you need to restrict your proteins in addition to your carbs as there are MANY protein heavy meals in this book, and use an app or some other tool to help keep track of your macros so you remain in ketosis."

Find Best Price at Amazon"The reason I'm already rating this book a THREE already is because I work from home and have a flexible schedule, yet even I cannot imagine cooking everything needed on this 30 day plan. To illustrate my point...to eat on the very first day you will have be making a fried shredded cabbage & bacon "rosti" for your first meal, then make an umami burger for your 2nd meal which INCLUDES roasting bones for bone marrow, AND ALSO fry 1 lb chicken wings in 2 cup of coconut oil/healthy paleo fat...for ONE MEAL! I cook all the time, and complicated meals, at that...yet I cannot imagine for ONE meal, making deep fried chicken wings...just to eat 2 in that meal, roasted bones for marrow and pan fry a burger. To be fair, many of these cooked items are then rotated into the subsequent days' menus...however, she often waits up 4 days to rotate a cooked protein back into the menu. (You eat the left over day one burger on day 5, and the left over chicken wings on day 6.). I do not like to eat cooked meats that have been sitting in the fridge more than 1-2 days after being cooked...they lose a lot of quality/taste after the 3rd day in my fridge, especially chicken. I don't mind eating the next day, but as it is written, it means that I really cannot follow her menu plans at all...because on day 6, you might be eating something prepared from day 1, day 3 and day 5....meaning you HAVE to have cooked all of those items and been willing to save them for that long. Another example of this is that for ONE DINNER you make a slow-cooked Cuban stew that makes 6 servings....but you eat a rather small serving so that WITH IT, you have to prepare and eat a lump crab salad with homemade mayonnaise on lettuce... that is almost identical in calorie/fat/protein/carb to one of the stew servings."
"In addition, I'm trying some recipes from the new Dairy Free book which follows the cleanse quite a bit. The pros: *Beautiful pictures for recipes. *Great tasting recipes (haven't found any I haven't liked; however, there are several we tried this week that are going to go in our regular routine). *Great information that is easy for the average person to understand. *Shopping lists that take all the guess work out. *Meal plans that can easily be changed for someone who needs less prep time, doesn't like certain ingredients, etc. *The author keeps a facebook page for support and answers questions asked by people doing the cleanse. *The author is obviously well versed on this topic. *Started cooking with fresh ingredients and spices. The egg recipes that I have tried are delicious). *recipes are time consuming. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book and will be giving copies to a couple of people as gifts. He hasn't started the Cleanse yet but he is following a LCHF diet with me (not fasting) and he's loving many of the meals. (The pictures in the book look so much better and I am an average cook not the greatest). : Eggs Fluorentine with Basil Hollandaise Sauce, Reuben Pork Chops, Marinated Mushrooms, Keto Greek Avgolemono, Tom Ka Gai (Thai Coconut Chicken), Hot and Sour Pork Ball Soup, Chicken Neapolitan, Bacon Eggs and Ramon, Mushroom soup, Scotch eggs, Warm Mushrooms and Eggs, Tom Ka Plaa (Coconut Fish Soup), Rosti."
"The book makes it easy to get your keto life started!!"
"It has helpful menu plans to tell you exactly what to eat , recipes of exactly how to make them, and extra recipes to mix and match and make your own menu. The way the book is layed out, it's the easiest, no Brainer way to lose weight and feel great."

New York Times Bestseller. Named one of the Best Books of 2017 by NPR, Buzzfeed, The. Atlantic , The. Washington Post , Chicago Tribune , Rachel Ray Every Day , San Francisco Chronicle , Vice Munchies, Elle.com, Glamour , Eater, Newsday, Minneapolis Star Tribune , The Seattle Times , Tampa Bay Times , Tasting Table, Modern Farmer , Publishers Weekly, and more. Refer to the canon of 100 essential recipes—and dozens of variations—to put the lessons into practice and make bright, balanced vinaigrettes, perfectly caramelized roast vegetables, tender braised meats, and light, flaky pastry doughs. "Just reading Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat will make you a better cook, adept at seasoning, balancing, understanding what it really is you’re doing and why... Make room on the bedside table—and the countertop." (NPR.org). "My favorite metacookbook...[Nosrat] offers a beautifully simple checklist for ensuring a dish ends up in a good place...This is the book of cooking grammar that so many novices would benefit from... Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is written smoothly and casually, and kept breezy via charming watercolors by the perceptive Bay Area artist Wendy MacNaughton...Nosrat’s book would be of value both to people who don’t consider themselves cooks and to people actively striving to become better ones." Samin Nosrat just published “Salt Fat Acid Heat — Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking” and I daresay this one is essential...That’s the fabulous thing about this book — it teaches readers about cooking, how to employ various techniques, and how to grasp that any subtle variations in technique can have significant impacts upon our end results. With a full understanding of how each element effects flavor and texture, a home cook can easily extrapolate and apply these principles to unfamiliar ingredients or dishes and still cook with confidence...The curious cook will eventually find her copy of this book stained and dog-eared, as she consults its essential kitchen wisdom for years to come." (Cooking Light ). "[This book] will be valuable for either a beginner or a seasoned cook. (Eater). "In the days after reading Samin Nosrat's new book, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, eating felt like a new adventure...And when it came time to cook simple meals, the raw carrots and greens in my fridge looked less intimidating: I had new tools to tame them...Inspiring this sense of culinary liberation was precisely Nosrat's goal with her cookbook, which eschews formulaic recipes in favor of heartfelt stories, bits and pieces of science, and time-tested nuggets of kitchen wisdom (not to mention gorgeous and witty watercolors by the prolific Wendy MacNaughton)...boy, does Nosrat deliver." A recent batch of cookbooks...have turned this notion on its ear, aiming, instead, to better prepare home cooks to build weekly menus and avoid food waste...the best book to come out of this new trend is, to my mind, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking by chef Samin Nosrat, with whimsical illustrations by Wendy MacNaughton. Nosrat, who's been called 'America's next great cooking teacher' by Alice Waters and taught Michael Pollan how to cook, is a more than trustworthy instructor." This is partly because Nosrat's method of teaching via the book's four main pillars (salt, fat, acid, and heat) is a rarity...But what makes Nosrat's method so effective was her insistence that the book be illustrated. It’s all there for the curious, determined cook.” (Milk Street Magazine). "In the Bay Area, writer and chef Samin Nosrat has cult followings both for her pop-up dinners at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco and her cooking classes, which friends swear have changed their time in the kitchen...This is a new kind of book. Just reading Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat will make you a better cook, adept at seasoning, balancing, understanding what it really is you’re doing and why." This book is approachable and inspiring and lays a strong, strong foundation (Joy The Baker ). “Wonderfully illustrated by Wendy MacNaughton, author Samin Nosrat's exuberant-but-exacting cooking style comes through and is shared generously...It will instruct, cajole, delight, encourage, inspire, and motivate anyone who is even slightly interested in cooking. (Mic.com). "Nosrat’s lighthearted approach and whimsical illustrations in Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking will teach you how to make delicious food anywhere with any ingredients, even without a recipe." The entire first half of the book is Samin being Samin – an incredible teacher and guide, with infectious enthusiasm for food, good cooking, and good eating. (Fine Dining Lovers ). “This beautiful, approachable book not only teaches you how to cook, but captures how it should feel to cook: full of exploration, spontaneity and joy. Samin is one of the great teachers I know, and wins people over to cooking with real food—organic, seasonal, and alive—with her irrepressible enthusiasm and curiosity.” (Alice Waters, New York Times bestselling author of The Art of Simple Food ). “Everyone was impressed when Michael Pollan managed to summarize the huge and complex subject of what we should be eating in just seven words: ‘Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.’ Samin Nosrat has managed to summarize the huge and complex subject of how we should be cooking in just four words: ‘Salt, fat, acid, heat.’ Everyone will be hugely impressed.” (Yotam Ottolenghi, New York Times bestselling author of Jerusalem ). “ Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is a must for anyone wanting to be a better cook. Samin Nosrat, along with Wendy MacNaughton’s fun illustrations, teaches the fundamentals of cooking and dives into the four elements that make food taste great. I promise you won’t regret it.” (April Bloomfield, James Beard award-winning chef and author of A Girl and Her Pig ). “Like the amazing meals that come out of Samin Nosrat’s kitchen, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is the perfect mixture of highest-quality ingredients: beautiful storytelling, clear science, an infectious love of food, and Wendy MacNaughton’s powerful art. Nosrat’s prose combined with MacNaughton’s beautiful illustrations are a perfect guide to employing the science of cooking for maximum deliciousness.” —Rebecca Skloot, New York Times bestselling authorof The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (Rebecca Skloot, New York Times bestselling author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks ). “ Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is a very important book not because it contains many excellent recipes, although it does, or because it is written by a Chez Panisse alum, although it is. Ticking all the boxes for new and seasoned cooks alike, this book meets you wherever you are in the kitchen, in all the right ways.” (Heidi Swanson, New York Times bestselling author of Super Natural Cooking ). “In this excellent, accessible cookbook, Nosrat leads readers through the cooking process… MacNaughton’s whimsical illustrations, charts, and graphs add to the experience. Nosrat invites readers to learn what it takes to master these components and take their cooking from good to great...MacNaughton's illustrations add a touch of whimsy to the text, highlighting the techniques and skills presented in a clever manner. Success in the kitchen depends on just four elements: salt, fat, acid, and heat...Culinary students and serious home cooks can discover from both text and drawings how to succeed through fundamentals of their craft." In this vital book, Nosrat demystifies the kitchen, explaining in friendly, confident terms why and how salt and fat enhance and build flavor, respectively; the effect of acidity in balancing out a dish; and knowing how to control heat and thus, the finished dish. (Elle.com). "With Nosrat’s sharp insights and Wendy MacNaughton’s playful illustrations as a guide, the readers of this book will develop essential cooking instincts." Featuring 150 illustrations and infographics that reveal an atlas to the world of flavor by illustrator Wendy MacNaughton, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat will be your compass in the kitchen."

"I've always loved the "why" in cooking and baking (like the Cooks Illustrated approach and The Food Lab: Better Home Cooking Through Science) - but I love that she narrows it down to four basic elements. But this books and others, like Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking are important because they give you the tools to innovate and recipes become starting points. I wish I had this book 20 years ago when I started seriously cooking."
"I love the fold out on p. 193 "what should I cook" that advises to go back and read the book through before you practice...a brilliant observation that the book is about "the journey, not the destination" as are so many things we pursue and experience."
"Not a collection of recipes, though the book does contain recipes, but a clear, thoughtful and good humored explanation of the major elements of cooking -- salt, fat, acid and heat."
"Colorful doodles keep you engaged and having fun while learning, as well as a helpful guide on what to always have stocked in terms of spices and bare necessity kitchen utensils."

Now, in The Wahls Protocol, she shares the details of the protocol that allowed her to reverse many of her symptoms, get back to her life, and embark on a new mission: to share the Wahls Protocol with others suffering from the ravages of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune conditions. Terry lives in Iowa with her family.

Find Best Price at Amazon"Even though I'm definitely NOT grateful for having this disease, I truly believe my loved ones, future children and I obtained the most valuable information we have come across as a consequence of my MS. In this book, Dr Wahls goes into detail about every aspect of the dietary and lifestyle changes she recommends, which includes supplements, exercise, electrical stimulation, meditation, etc., and she details three different versions of the Wahls diet so anyone can find a level they can learn to live with. I actually convinced my wife and my mother to read the book and follow different levels of the protocol with me for one month. It has been three weeks today, and the results have been noticeable: - I have RRMS, and am still in early stages of the disease so when I'm in remission, which is 90% of the time, I have no symptoms. She feels a lot more rested and the Polar Loop is actually measuring and showing these results as concrete data. Additionally, she used to get headaches at work about once a week, and hasn't had a single one since following the Wahls Paleo. I have now read many other books by Sarah Ballantyne, Dr. Perlmutter, Amy Myers, Jimmy Moore, etc., I have found countless Blogs and Cookbooks, and I even have iOS Apps that make my life way easier (MyPaleoPal is excellent for tracking and ideas, for example). I now enjoy eating and even cooking more than I ever had before, and my entire family is still reaping the benefits from all this knowledge. Just to detail a bit more: I follow the Wahls Paleo Plus diet, mixed together with the AIP just to make it a little more challenging. This means no nuts, seeds, nightshades, or coffee, on top of Dr Wahls' strictest protocol. I also swim every other day, meditate and work my core muscles daily, and sleep 7.5-8.5 hours every night. You be the judge: my last relapse was over a year ago, I can now bike for 45minutes and totally withstand heat sensitivity, I can swim for as long as I want to, I walked over 120,000 steps in a week last december during Christmas break (used a pedometer to keep track), I'm sleeping like a baby, and, MOST IMPORTANT: I stopped my MS medication two weeks ago (under my neurologist's supervision of course, and having sworn to go back on it if my status changes negatively)."
"The book is so easy to read, and it is set up pretty much the way I spent my first year changing my diet. I loved reading Chapter 7 - Wahls Paleo Plus, because that is the way I basically eat now, strictly and consistently. This new book is an easier read, but still full of Dr. Wahls passion for sharing this vital information, and getting it right. Her life is at stake, and she wants to help as many people as she can - in my opinion, it is obvious that this book is a true labor of love for her. I rarely left the house, except for appointments that I couldn't put off any longer, or family celebrations with the our grown kids. My husband, whose busy career took much of his time, did the best he could, which meant my diet was mostly easy processed food or take-out. A few weeks after I sold/gave my beloved Prius to my son, my daughter urged me to look into some doctor that had MS and wrote a book about how she healed herself with diet. I had a slight increase in energy, and cleaned a tiny spot of kitchen counter between the sink and the coffee maker. I had stopped eating white potatoes, and soon started avoiding soy, legumes all processed and packaged foods. After a year, a friend offered to drive me to the gym again, so I started working out a bit, and she helped me move between machines. Finally I started taking my walker, and then made my husband buy a car so I could have his Prius - I needed my independence back, and I was ready. My gym workouts were good for a while but I began to hurt myself; I could barely remember how to walk, because my body was so messed up. I started working with a personal trainer at the gym, after he actually convinced me that he could wake up my severely weakened muscles, when giving me a free hour-long evaluation where I could not even do a squat, or get up from the floor. I can now do a deadlift with 115 pound weight, I can squat, carry bags of groceries upstairs, and take many different classes at the gym, with modifications, such as Zumba, spinning, step, yoga, Pilates, and I love to walk outside to get the fresh air and sunshine. I finally bought a Vitamix (I stopped juicing - I want the nutrients in my body) and I still use it every single day for getting a huge amount of veggies and berries. I had been on weight loss diets all my life, and that was a struggle, because I could never shake my addiction to sweets, carbs, etc. Terry also talks about the importance of moving our bodies and having strong emotional bonds with the people in our lives. That last one has been harder for me in the last year, and the stress of it taught me a lot about how my body reacts to negative thoughts in my mind."

The food is delicious, the tone is funny, and I have been talking it up to my friends."
"Most of the reviews ive read before purchasing this book are mostly people complaining about the cursing, that they didn't know it was vegan and that the ingredients are too "fancy". UHM, it isn't literally them supporting thugs.. its like a metaphor.. they are thugs in the kitchen, they toughen you up and motivate you in almost a boot camp sort of way. therefore they're they thugs in the kitchen telling you how to get that sh*t right.. Now as for the fancy ingredient complain.. one guy said smoked paprika was too fancy and hard to find... which is not.. at all.. it should be a staple in any cooks spice rack.. Aminos might be hard to find but i seen those even in low level market places and farmers markets or nurserys or co-ops.. health stores, nutritionists or a damn WHOLE FOODS! with all the gmo and crazy processes they're doing lately its surprising people aren't paying attention to minor details like that and then they complain about it like if the author set them up...*sigh*. Now for my honest review; first Id like to say im Hispanic and raised with ethnic foods. I'm trying to establish a routine where the most used items are already cutup and stored somehow for easy access.. perhaps when i do a week food prep. you don't miss the meat at all... i do wish there were more recipes and more versatile breakfast ideas with more fruit but its still a good way to kick-start a detox or life style.. it weans you and really does motivate you if you don't mind the potty mouth. Their sweet potatoes fried rice is also yummy and they have this peanut dipping sauce yum! Some recipes i feel are missing something but maybe thats just my habits and culture that are used to different sides a big slab of meat."

Find Best Price at Amazon"At the time I bought this, I'd heard nothing about it. So many of us are on special diets or have to entertain for a family member or guest who is and pull something together--whether that be gluten-free, vegetarian, something for a family who works during the day and needs crockpot meals, something for a family who works all the time and only wants to cook on weekends and then freeze the meals... this book took that all into account. That took some time, but boy is it handy, even if you yourself only use it occassionally. I have had a few cookbooks that actually made me turned off to the meal due to the grey lighting or even ones I knew were fake like a slow cooker photo of mac and cheese that showed it browned on top (that does not occur in a slow cooker). These are truly restaurant quality meals, that are obviously tested and tried and perfected. Some authors will not do this unless the company pays them to use their name in the book. Examples: TUSCAN PANZANELLA SALAD WITH GRILLED GARLIC BREAD. SUMMER LOBSTER ROLLS. MONGOLIAN BEEF AND BROCCOLI. FRENCH BREAD PIZZA SUPREME. TERIYAKI GLAZED STUFFED PORK CHOPS WITH PINEAPPLE SALSA. ROAST BEEF SANDWICHES WITH CREAMY HORSERADISH SPREAD. CHICKPEA AND POTATO CURRY. SPICY BLACKBEAN BURGERS WITH CHIPOTLE MAYO. PEAR AND BRIE GRILLED CHEESE. STEAK SANDWICHES. BLACK BEAN BURRITO BOWLS. CILANTRO LIME SHRIMP. CHEESY BAKED PANNE WITH EGGPLANT. SILKY CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE. LOADED NACHO POTATO SKINS. ITALIAN SAUSAGE WITH PEPPERS AND ONION. WARM APPLE PIE CRUMBLE. GUMBOS, STIR FRIES, MAIN DISH SALADS, MEATLESS MAIN DISH CHAPTERS. SHRIMP AND GRITS. COCONUT PANNA COTTA WITH RASPBERRIES. DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHUNK WALNUT COOKIES. WINTER POTATO, KALE AND SAUSAGE FRITTATA. THAI COCONUT MUSSELS. C ROLLATINI STUFFED WITH ZUCCHINI AND MUSHROOMS. LASAGNA (ZUCCHINI STRIPS ARE USED RATHER THAN PASTA AND I SWEAR YOU WON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!). Whether you never eat red meat, eat only white meat, eat only seafood, eat no animal protein...or switch it up all the time, you can easily find a chapter on whatever suits your fancy or your mood that day."
"This book cooks with great ingredients which makes the meals taste really good while if you follow the portion sizes, you will lose weight."
"All of Gina's recipes always turn out!"
"I've long enjoyed the author's blog so when the book was released it quickly became one of my go to gifts for Christmas 2014. For me it was worth gifting to friends because the book has a good range of recipes that taste more indulgent than they actually are and that consistently work."
"This is one of the best cookbooks I have in my collection and believe me I have a huge collection.I would suggest it if you want something a little bit different but still very healthy and fun to make."

Going “keto” by eating high fat, low-to-moderate protein and low-carb foods enables you to break free from the disastrous effects of carbohydrate dependency by resetting your metabolism and promoting metabolic flexibility —where your body learns to burns fat instead of sugar for energy, even when you go off plan. It takes as little as 21-days to reprogram your metabolism to burn fat for fuel, by ditching processed grains, sugars, and refined vegetable oils in favor of nutrient-dense, high fat, primal/paleo foods--and you'll see immediate results. - Melissa Hartwig , New York Times best-selling author and Whole30 co-founder. "Mark Sisson’s big picture strategy combining sensible dietary transformation with exercise, sleep, and stress management practices ensures that you will stick with it, and have fun while you’re at it!" Mark Sisson presents a sound formula of ketogenic eating and living that anyone at any age and athletic level can follow to build a fitter, leaner, healthier body. His blog, MarksDailyApple.com, has paved the way for Primal enthusiasts to challenge conventional wisdom's diet and exercise principles and take personal responsibility for their health and well-being.

I've been reading a lot about the Keto diet and it's benefits on balancing hormones naturally along with the MANY other benefits of the lifestyle. I feel better, never hungry and eating less, more energy, and so on..... Mark gives us very basic, extremely helpful information to help us understand this lifestyle and compares it to the Primal/Paleo."
"(Heavy legs going up stairs (fixed with potassium) diarrhea, low energy, basic keto flu) It took me 6 weeks of being in ketosis (checked by blood ketone monitor) before I felt like I could do my workouts again. I DID have to up my thyroid medication (even though most keto experts hate to discuss that this can happen) and I started from great sleep, primal exercise, LCHF, and a compressed eating window with the ability to do 24 hour fasts. Being a woman with low hormones ( Working with Dr. on raising estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) I still craved sugar even while in ketosis (1.5 mm on meter) but I love not being hungry, being able to go hours without eating and feeling no brain fog!"
"In The Keto Reset Diet Mark Sisson and Brad Kearns draw a poignant parallel between the human body and a high performance car. Fueling our bodies with a diet high in carbohydrates as opposed to a diet high in fat does the same to our bodies as fueling a race car with low octane gasoline does to the car's motor."

Beloved food blogger and New York Times bestselling author Danielle Walker is back with over 100 new Paleo recipes in her sophomore cookbook, Meals Made Simple--a collection of gluten-free, dairy-free, and Paleo-friendly recipes for easy weeknight meals. "Meals Made Simple" includes a variety of slow cooker, one-pot, and thirty-minute meals, as well as ways to create entirely new dishes from leftovers. (David Perlmutter MD, - Author, #1 New York Times Bestseller: Grain Brain, The Surprising Truth About Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar - Your Brain's Silent Killers ). Some of her popularity might have to do with her easy-to-follow and relatable approach—and the fact that her dairy-free, gluten-free, and Paleo recipes appeal to so many different types of people and dietary concerns... (Molly Gallagher, Well+Good ). Danielle Walker, whose cookbook "Against All Grain" made her a celebrity with the paleo diet and gluten-free crowd, offers conscientious recipes for celebrations and holidays in her new cookbook, "Meals Made Simple." After her debut paleo recipe title Against All Grain soared to the New York Times Bestseller list in 2013, she nails it again with inspiring, beautifully photographed recipes that sound incredible—and are all made sans dairy or grains. She began eliminating more food groups including grains, lactose and legumes, following a plan that closely mimicked the Paleo diet. She focuses on flavors and textures, refusing to feel deprived despite her limited food choices. Her recipes are all entirely grain-free, and consequently gluten-free, free of refined sugars, and minimal to no dairy. Most are appropriate for those following the Paleo, Primal, SCD, GAPS, and gluten-free lifestyles, and more. With her acquired culinary skills, love for food, and an equal love for journalism, she has become a source of hope for others suffering from similar allergies and autoimmune diseases.

Find Best Price at Amazon"Upon first receiving it and glancing through it I was a little disappointed that it seemed sparse and recipes for mayonnaise, cauli-rice and chicken stock stuck out at me. Favorite: Those few reviewers that are unhappy with this book aren't realizing that the real value is in the unbelievable amount of time and work that Ms. Walker put into making 8 weeks of meal plans! No longer do you have to open a can of coconut milk and hope the reminder doesn't go to waste, she accounts for so many of the little details like that. To elaborate, here are the things I love about this book: - meal plan with shopping lists. - indexes! By ingredients, meal type, allergens/dietary preference, time/one-pot/crock-pot and a photo index. - tear-out menu plans and shopping lists. I love that this book is a celebration of her short life and that she lives on in all our hearts and kitchens as we enjoy the fruit of their labor together."
"My eczema disappeared completely, I no longer have to take metformin for my pcos symptoms. I have leaky gut and was getting diarrhea about 3-5 times a day prier to this diet. I even started a fb group where I post pictures of each meal I make from this book."
"In her new book, Against All Grain: Meals Made Simple, she has added even more mouthwatering delights for the Paleo chef. Danielle was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at twenty-two, and she spent years in and out of hospitals and taking some heavy-duty prescriptions for her condition until she’d had enough. Now we have book two, lavishly photographed by Danielle herself and filled with tasty recipes your family will love. Danielle shows how to protect the budget by purchasing larger cuts of meat, the whole bird instead of parts and by buying in bulk. A bit like a frittata, it contains yellow onions, white sweet potatoes, bacon, bell peppers and eggs. I made the barbecue sauce (p. 250) to serve with burgers and Danielle’s cashew flour buns from her first book. My all-time favorite dessert is Lemon Sponge, a British treat that’s bursting with lemony goodness, but loaded with sugar."
"Purchased for my daughter in law."
"I have learned so much for Danielle from the simple plan and layout about the foods that we buy and eat."
"I love both of her cookbooks."

Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. Even doctors at leading institutions have been misled for years based on creative reporting of research results from pharmaceutical companies intent on supporting the $31-billion-a-year cholesterol-lowering drug industry. The Great Cholesterol Myth Plus 100 Recipes reveals the real culprits of heart disease, including: Inflammation, Fibrinogen, Triglycerides, Homocysteine, Belly fat, Triglyceride to HCL ratios, High glycemic levels, and offers 100 recipies that will help reduce the risk of heart disease. Fact: Cholesterol is only a minor player in the cascade of inflammation which is a cause of heart disease. Myth: Statin drugs are useful in middle-aged men with coronary artery disease because of its impact on cholesterol. Statins are extremely helpful in men with low HDL and coronary artery disease. Fact: Cholesterol is only a theory in heart disease and only the small component of LP(a) or "bb shot" LDL predisposes one to oxidation and inflammation.
