It has definitely won one of the slots for my favorite book s." -- Tiffany, Goodreads. " If you are looking for a story ... to make you believe in the magic of love ... Lost in Los Angeles is it. ". " I found myself falling in love with Ben and Erin and the city of LA ." An excerpt from Lost in Los Angeles: Ben pulls himself out of the hot tub and sits on the edge. His chest is rippled with perfect muscles, like a model's, but his skin is marked all over with scars. Ben holds my gaze for a long time, then he exhales and says, "Do whatever you need to do." I close my eyes and wrap my arms around Ben as tightly as I can. I feel the heat radiating from his skin to mine.

"This was an interesting story, well-written and very enjoyable."
"Review: Lost in Los Angeles by Jenny Lynne. Even though this book is fiction the author's use of the characters could be based on real people's lives. Just weeks after 18 year old Erin tragically loses her best friend , she is brutally betrayed by her high school crush. Plagued by crippling panic attacks and disconcerting visions of her dead friend, Erin travels to Los Angeles, searching for a sign that life is still worth living. Shortly after she arrives, she meets Ben, a mysterious man who captures both her curiosity and her heart. As they explore Los Angeles together, Ben reveals shocking secrets of his tragic childhood and helps Erin believe that she can heal from the wounds of her traumatic past. She has anxiety issues because when she goes and visits places she sees and hears strange things . When Erin goes into this coffee shop she sees a guy sitting at a table typing on his laptop. He offers her to sit at his table because the coffee shop is crowed, she gladly accepts."
"She loses her bestfriend, is raped by a boy she trusted and is in a world she can't seem to sink her feet in and then to make it worst, while swimming in the ocean, she finds a dead girl. Christ this poor girl can't get a break, that is until she meets Ben and finds he is everything she wants and more, but who is Ben?"
"Erin was in a downward spiral ever since she lost her best friend and her innocence."
"From beginning to end you will immediately fall in love with Erin and feel as though you are there with her every step she takes."
"When I finished reading LOST IN LOS ANGELES I realized I was crying and holding my breath! A few weeks later, while at the prom, she is violated by her high school crush! While she is having coffee one morning, she meets the mysterious and gorgeous Ben. Erin has been one hot mess due to all that has happened to her but for some reason, Ben makes her want to try harder and be better."

"Not a lot of ghost stories in this one, but the true crime and weird stories are well researched!"
"Great content and James Bartlett put a ton of work into this and it shows--- it's just missing page numbers."
"I’m updating this review because, well, I realized over time that my issues with this book were very much a case of “it’s not you, it’s me” – meaning that the book did not originally align with my subjective expectations of what the book was intended to be. When I picked the book back up and reread it several months later, I realized what the book was actually meant to be – and what it wasn’t – and I developed a newfound admiration for it and enjoyment of it, which is why I am bumping up the book to five stars. I originally thought he book was intended to be primarily a book on “LA ghost stories and haunted places.” Looking at it through that lens, I found it a bit unfocused and filled with minor details not relevant to the “ghost stories”. Rather than just a book on “ghost stories”, (which are a dime a dozen), the book is really a quite enjoyable “insider’s tour of LA” aimed squarely at people like me who often walk past a building and think “I wonder what the history of that place is?” As such, the book generally follows a format where the author identifies a place, lays out in detail “interesting things that happened here” and then (usually) closes out with a fun exploration of places to dine or drink in the vicinity. I don’t mean to denigrate the book by using the term “bathroom reader” (as the book has much more depth than a book of that genre), but something akin to that experience of a book that can be digested in bite-sized chunks - “flip through to find something that captures your interest and read a bit.”. I have not read the first Gourmet Ghosts, but I suspect that, given that this book covers the same geographic area as the first book, the more well-known stories and locales may have been covered in the first book, leaving the second book to consist of the more-obscure items that perhaps didn’t make the cut the first time. (However, the sections in this book providing updates on matters covered in the first book are interesting and appreciated, and provide a tantalizing glimpse into what the first book may have covered.)."
"I recommend this book to anyone who likes ghost stories or murder mysteries, as well as people in the LA area who might like to visit the places talked about in the book."
"I always love a good intrigue or ghost story, I love a good bar or good food at restaurants and hotels and I love HollywoodLA in it's hey day, so this book was a perfect treat."
"I found this book to be an easy, juicy read - perfect literary candy to zone out with after a long day."
"Read this book over and over, couldn't put it down."
"i like this book very much (also the first one.)."

Reviews
"I have a system for researching places now, but when I was starting out, I always found this book useful in pointing out interesting / photogenic places to go to."
"I've lived in San Francisco for many years and been taking photos for many years more than that."
"While of course not all subjects are offered fourteen different ways, some are offered more than one way and all are carefully described with enough information to replicate the example image yourself. Without extended time to wander San Francisco and northern California searching on my own for image opportunities, I'm confident this book will improve my image collection on my upcoming visit there."
"It would have been better to be direct with the photo information rather than get into a history of each of the major stops listed in the book (often several are listed on a page, and in paragraph form). Pick up this book but don't forget the Frye book if Yosemite is part of your destination."
