"GREAT read!!!"
"Great blue print for changing from a practice to a business."
"Awesome book with a lot of concrete methods on how to run a perfect firm."
"I wrote a review on Amazon called "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". The Good, well the content is cribbed from a multitude of other authors so nothing new here but rephrased nicely for accountants. If you are updating content at least use new catch phrases like "machine learning", AI and chat bots! Author claims that the previous books was an Amazon Best Seller for "Accounting Management". Little growth potential in the company and little leadership that will tolerate future partners. Do they receive wages based upon increased client acquisition AND growth?"

Profit First: Transform Your Business from a Cash-Eating Monster to a Money-Making Machine

Follow Mike’s counter-intuitive advice and put profits first.”. --VERNE HARNISH, author of Scaling Up “ Profit First is a brilliant smack-upside-the-head revelation for entrepreneurs. "This book is a must read for anyone interested in starting a business or is already a business owner. Business Owners: For years, us accountants have been trying to teach our clients the business owners to run their business using the data in their accounting software and for years business owners have failed to thrive and simply manage sale to sale and payroll to payroll. I have personally witnessed these same business owners implement the stupidly simple strategy this book teaches and completely change the trajectory of their business and their financial position."
"FINALLY, Profit First is the book, the philosophy, the principles, and everything else I have been seeking to apply to the financial/accounting view of our businesses... - It's visual. - It's easy to comprehend. - It really gives you the TRUE financial picture of your business. BEST PART: When you fully implement Profit First, it makes being EXTREMELY PROFITABLE, EASY and FUN."
"With the profit first system, you will start taking your profit out first, and if you are not making a profit, your business will start asking you to address the problem."
"This is an actionable book, and the author encourages you to take simple (sometimes not easy) steps to overcome inertia. I even went so far as to email the author with a question (how the heck can my S corp pay my taxes?!"
"The message of Mike Michalowicz’s "Profit First" is that without a relentless focus on profit, our natural inclinations will drive our businesses into boom-and-bust cycles that revenue growth alone cannot fix."

Les Misérables (Book Center)
An epic novel of nineteenth-century France, Les Miserables tells the story of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who works to redeem his past. While the abridgment inevitably cuts many of the intricate subplots and minor characters who enrich Hugo's vast tome, this suspenseful central plot tracing Valjean's endeavor to emerge from desperate circumstances while being pursued by the duty-obsessed Inspector Javert remains intact and comprehensible to listeners.
Reviews
"The great translator of Spanish language literature, Edith Grossman, said: "I can't say what makes a book translatable, but I do think that all texts can be translated. The question of whether or not a work is "translatable" stems from a mistaken and widely held notion that a translation is really a one-for-one set of equivalences with the original--a straightforward lexical problem--when in fact it is a rewriting of the first text. I stopped reading works in translation in the early 1980s, and didn't start up again until around 2005. According to one account, the Rose translation is almost 100,000 words longer than the 1976 Denny "translation" -- that's how much material he excised from the novel to "improve it." If you're looking to read the translation of Les Mis, that will make you feel like you are reading the original, hearing Victor Hugo's voice, then pick up Rose's translation."
"I didn't expect to like this book as much as I do, but I think it's a new favorite of mine."
"I bought this Collector's edition of Les Miserables for my grandson, Luke's, upcoming birthday."
"I will not write a critique of the novel itself, that's for another venue, but I will comment on the transfer of the printed book to Kindle."
"I groan at the memory of the long side trips away from the plot at the most frustrating moments to explore things like the Battle of Waterloo, the history of convents, specific orders of nuns and their daily lives etc. I found tears on my cheeks an inordinate amount of time while reading it especially the final few chapters and that (almost) last line-" The night was starless and very dark. Without any doubt, in the gloom, some mighty angel was standing with outstretched wings, waiting for the soul.""
"This interpretation moves the diatribe chapters to the back of the book and therefore smooths the flow which also makes the book more enjoyable."

Reviews
"One possible drawback of this book is that many of its examples are about 10 to 20 years old and one can be reasonably sure that a new generation of shenanigans have since come into existence."
"Great book providing examples of illegitimate (not necessarily illegal) techniques management can use to deceive investors."
"I gave this book 5 stars because it is very informative."
"Excellent book👍🏻 you won't get bored with his writing and stories as in all other technical books."
"If you want to understand financial shenanigans, this is the book for you."
"Good read but absolutely not enough for those who really want to invest and manage their own money themselves in financial markets."
