Find Best Price at Amazon"I read articles, explored websites, perused product information from various hemp oil producers and queried folks on facebook. But thankfully, while reading conflicting reviews of different CBD products on Amazon, I came across this book. The book has just enough scientific and medical info to explain how and why CBD works as medicine; this gave me confidence that hemp oil is not just a fad, placebo or snake oil. While the book would clearly be useful for those in the nursing profession, it is equally important and accessible to the lay reader, and I fear you might lose many potential readers who assume that it's a book written primarily for nurses. Also, I hope that you will decide to offer the book in a print version as well; some folks don't have access to e-readers; and some of us just prefer having a hard to copy to underline and highlight and reference repeatedly; it's just easier in "book" form!"
"After reading this very comprehensive book I have been enormously pleased to share it with many of my friends, especially those who didn't know much about hemp oil."
"This is the second copy I have ordered."
"Great for research in directing true medical cannabis growers in what they are trying to accomplish."
"Well written easy to understand good morning I'll let you get about CBD the better you are to talk about it."
"Miss greatly Lee relieve my pain in from my sciatic nerve you have to be careful with the amount you take if you overdo it it will knock you off your feet but once you get the dosage right and remove all the pain."
"Nice book...very informative!"

"She is so knowledgable. We saw improvement in his IEP goals, increased fine and gross motor function, less anxiety, decrease tummy bloat, improved digestion, improved cognition, improved mood, ability to learn increased, frustration decreased, speech improvements and decreased brain inflammation. I know because he had a big lump on the back of his head that softened and got smaller."
"However, now comes an extraordinary book on medical cannabis written by an actual and very experienced cannabis doctor. To learn that the essential Endocannabinoid System (ECS) was only discovered in the last several decades is a partial excuse, but, at the bottom line, the fact that this new knowledge (the ECS) is not taught in medical schools is strong indication of how we are all controlled by forces that do not have our best interests at heart. Those that practice Financial Medicine; and, keep the few (but growing number of) legitimate physicians who have learned about the value of cannabis in healing from coming out publicly, because they are in fear of losing their license to practice medicine."
"Good information!"
"Very informative, well put together, great understanding of medical uses."
"She clearly explains for us lay people the main aspects of cannabis and its medical applications. It’s hard to read the numerous patient stories in the book and not be moved by the amazing results."

In telling their engaging, powerful and sometimes humorous stories, Dr. Bellg invites the reader to consider that bearing witness to a patient's near-death experience is a respectful and meaningful part of medical care, a way for families to support their loved ones, and an important part of the patient's healingDo we need to prove they are something more than the result of illness, medication or a dying brain to acknowledge their power to impact lives in a positive way? "My time with Dr. Bellg's book was profound: inspiring, comforting, and a gentle reminder of so much that I can easily forget . The book leads the reader on a fascinating journey, exploring the different aspects of near-death experiences and demonstrating the need to keep an open mind about the phenomenon, because we don't know the whole story yet." His next awareness found him completely and peacefully enveloped in what he could only describe as a soft shroud of mist with tiny points of light blinking in and out quickly as they moved all around him. The feeling of love was immense, almost unbearable, and recalling it now, Dr. John's voice became fragile as he paused to fight back tears. He described floating in such a beautiful and bright place of total peace that he lost all thoughts and concerns related to anything connected to his physical existence. Still feeling peaceful and detached, he felt himself descending and slowly his body came back into view as the mist surrounding him dissipated and he could once more hear the clamor and tension of the operating room. Hovering above the scene, he watched the weak representation of his pulse on the monitor slowly gain strength as the resuscitation efforts of the surgical team reclaimed their hold on Dr. John's physical body.

Some of the physics books, in particular quantum science, gave me hope as it explained that energy never dies, so it offered a possibility that something of a human may continue after the death of its body. I admired her skill at explaining our western culture of medicine is so proof based that anything falling outside their remit of science becomes impossible to consider, and any doctors who claim to believe otherwise risk ostracism or even expulsion. I know I'll never have absolute proof, but this book gave me what I needed to believe in the likihood of the survival of consciousness after the death of its body."

"Although I agree with most of the things in the book, it's a shame that our health system has failed us."
"At times the frustration of the authors tends to work against their message that the underlying scientific evidence is clearly in support of what they are saying, but given the impact of how our current environment distorts the evidence of how we can live much better lives their frustration is understandable."
"Dr. Popper shares her expertise not only about the power of diet reversing and preventing disease, but also how diagnostic testing and the "health care" system can do us more harm than good."

Best Shrub Gardening & Horticulture

With Dirr's Hardy Trees and Shrubs and Dirr's Trees and Shrubs for Warm Climates , Michael Dirr set the gold standard for horticultural reference. This volume is filled with information for the gardener, landscape architect, and all those curious about the trees and shrubs they may encounter. The chatty descriptions incorporate information often limited to tables—disease resistance, size, shape, and zone hardiness as well as some history and taxonomy. His personal experiences with particular species are forthrightly and sometime wryly noted: “They sit in the garden and look at me, never prospering.” With descriptions of 380 genera illustrated with 3,500 photographs, this is likely to become a standard reference for including trees and shrubs in gardens of all types. “Dirr has been growing and breeding plants for years and has experience with all the plants in this book. “Michael Dirr’s hefty Dirr’s Encyclopedia of Trees and Shrubs belongs next to the American Horticultural Society’s A to Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants on your shelf of essential garden books. “Long regarded as the nation’s foremost expert on trees and shrubs, Dr. Dirr has published a new book that, like his previous Manual of Woody Landscape Plants , draws on his encyclopedic knowledge and years of personal experience with trees and shrubs. However, the new book, Dirr’s Encyclopedia of Trees and Shrubs , adds thousands of photos to the mix, too.” — Better Homes and Gardens. “Meriting the terms classic, authoritative, gold-standard, this reference updates and combines in one binding two previously published books: Dirr’s Hardy Trees and Shrubs and Dirr’s Trees and Shrubs for Warm Climates . “Whether you’re a landscape designer or architect or just a garden enthusiast, you can’t do without either of these ( Dirr’s Encyclopedia of Trees and Shrubs and the Manual of Woody Landscape Plants ) books.

Dirr's gave me the information I needed to evaluate the plants that had been suggested and also find other plants we might like more or that fit my mental image of our garden better. PROS: 1) Each entry includes information on size, shape, color, cultivation requirements, and appropriate zones, as well as Dirr's anecdotal information on his personal experiences with and sightings of the plants."
"Excellent book cataloguing common trees and shrubs that an American gardener would encounter."
"For the casual gardener, this book will give you all you need and more as an aid to understanding, how to identify, and care for trees and shrubs."
"Great price and inspirational reading."
"This book is a little less information rich than his "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants" but it does provide many of the critical details along with large beautiful photos."

Find Best Price at Amazon"In The Radium Girls Kate Moore tells the story of these young women, seemingly so fortunate, who were poisoned by the jobs they felt so lucky to have. After some of the women died and more became ill the companies making large profits on radium rushed to dismiss any hint that the work was unsafe. Eventually publicity stemming from lawsuits filed by some of the victims (using their own scanty resources) focused enough attention on the problem that governments felt compelled to set safety standards and regulations. The safety regulations and restrictions which were finally put into place hardly seem adequate, and the Epilogue and Postscript giving details of the women's later lives, as well as an account of another industry that made careless use of radium as late as the 1970s, are especially harrowing."

What Stamets has discovered is that we can capitalize on mycelium’s digestive power and target it to decompose toxic wastes and pollutants (mycoremediation), catch and reduce silt from streambeds and pathogens from agricultural watersheds (mycofiltration), control insect populations (mycopesticides), and generally enhance the health of our forests and gardens (mycoforestry and myco-gardening). --From the foreword by Andrew Weil, MD, author of Eating Well for Optimum Health “Stamets is a visionary emissary from the fungus kingdom to our world, and the message he’s brought back in this book, about the possibilities fungi hold for healing the environment, will fill you with wonder and hope.“. --Michael Pollan, author of The Botany of Desire “This is the kind of book I love: highly factual and practical and mixed with the spiritual content that sets the great writers apart from all the rest.“. --John Norris, former deputy commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration and founder of the Bioterrorism Institute. “This is the first book to give the Kingdom of the Fungi its proper place in the scheme of things. Stamets’s visionary insights are leading to a whole new understanding of how mushrooms, scarcely seen and rarely appreciated, regulate the earth’s ecosystems.“. --John Todd, founder and president of Ocean Arks International. “This visionary and practical book should be an instant classic in...
