"Then read and hilite the places, they list the address for every place there is to visit, so you can put the address for every place you want to see or the address for the 5 star pizza places and then when you get there and you want to see Queens Bath, pull it up on gps and go, we would have never found Queens Bath otherwise."
"Such great info. we stayed in Lihue at The Marriott Beach Club. rented a car from airport (cheaper than getting from hotel and its just a shuttle ride to airport from hotel). Took the car and went to the North Shore for a full day - Anini beach was our favorite but had fun visiting Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach and Ke'e beach as well. on the way back to Lihue that evening, We stopped at the best Mexican food spot in Kapaa called Verde. That afternoon we spent the day cruising the south shore and relaxed on Kekaha Beach. Blue Hawaiian was also super easy for us to get to...our hotel shuttle took us to their bay at the airport."

Birds of Wisconsin Field Guide (Bird Identification Guides)
This interactive field guide features 111 species of Wisconsin birds organized by color. Naturalist, wildlife photographer and writer Stan Tekiela is the author of more than 175 field guides, nature books, children’s books, wildlife audio CDs, puzzles and playing cards, presenting many species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, trees, wildflowers and cacti in the United States.

"I just love this little book!"
"Brand new condition book, fast shipping..."
"It also provides all the pertinent information about the bird regarding the size, migration route, feeding and nesting patterns, etc."
"I have used this book for years."
"We'd all look out the window and keep asking each other, "What's that white and black one with the red on its head?" My son is going for his Naturalist badge in Cub Scouts, and one of the things he can do for the badge is keep a log of birds he sees for a week. I got out the Birds of Wisconsin Field Guide, which I'd bought awhile back, thinking that owning it would teach me birds' names by osmosis (it didn't). The pages are color coded, so if you flip to the red part you find birds that are primarily red, the gray part has birds that are primarily gray, and so on."
"This is an ideal quick reference book for those that would like to identify the birds in the backyard."
"This is a great little book!"
"Nice but maybe more of a pic book needed if you are s novice."

Eat Pray Love 10th-Anniversary Edition: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
The 10th anniversary edition of one of the most iconic, beloved, and bestselling books of our time. Sustaining a chatty, conspiratorial tone, Gilbert fully engages readers in the year's cultural and emotional tapestry - conveying rapture with infectious brio, recalling anguish with touching candor - as she details her exotic tableau with history, anecdote and impression. Three years later, after a protracted divorce, she embarked on a yearlong trip of recovery, with three main stops: Rome, for pleasure (mostly gustatory, with a special emphasis on gelato); an ashram outside of Mumbai, for spiritual searching; and Bali, for "balancing."

Thousands attempt to hike its entirety each year: some succeed, many fail. From the pain of blisters and extremes of temperature to encountering kleptomaniacs, fake faith healers and being threatened with arrest in Spain for 'not sleeping', his hike was far from normal. 'Not only does he have astute observations about the people, places and scenery around him, he is adept at translating those observations into words, often making me laugh or nod in understanding. Keith Foskett has hiked over 10,000 miles in recent years and holds a deep respect for the outdoor spaces of this world.

At Home in the World: Reflections on Belonging While Wandering the Globe
As Tsh Oxenreider, author of Notes From a Blue Bike, chronicles her family’s adventure around the world—seeing, smelling, and tasting the widely varying cultures along the way—she discovers what it truly means to be at home. They traverse bumpy roads, stand in awe before a waterfall that feels like the edge of the earth, and chase each other through three-foot-wide passageways in Venice. From releasing paper lanterns in Thailand to experiencing the community of strangers in Zimbabwe, Tsh invites readers to join her on a trek around the globe without the cost of a ticket; to discover the people, places, and stories worth knowing about; to belong in the familiar and yet feel at home outside of it; and to find the balance between wanderlust and rootedness.
Reviews
"This is a fantastic travel memoir."
"As a fellow sojourner who gets to pick up and move every few years as we serve the military, I found Tsh's story resonating with my own: living in the tension of wanderlust and longing for that elusive feeling of rooted, stable home and community."
"The book wasn't like a boring journal though (on day 23, we did this...) but it dealt much more with Tsh's heart and her desire to understand home."
"Tsh does an incredible job of describing her trek in such vivid and raw detail that I truly feel like I'm right there with her."
"I personally plan to use this book as a reference for our family's future travels, remembering which countries Tsh has made me curious to see for myself and which transport, accommodations, and landmarks were worth experiencing."
"This is an enjoyable book that let's you peak into the many cultures around the world through the eyes of a family."
"I felt like I was traveling to the Outback, on safari in Africa, and enjoying the outdoors at a guesthouse in France, all from my living room couch."
"The author basically comes to the conclusion that she cannot decide which she prefers...traveling around the world or settling in at home."

A Time of Gifts: On Foot to Constantinople: From the Hook of Holland to the Middle Danube (Journey Across Europe Book 1)
Hitler has just come to power but war is still ahead, as he walks through a Europe soon to be forever changed—through the Lowlands to Mitteleuropa, to Teutonic and Slav heartlands, through the baroque remains of the Holy Roman Empire; up the Rhine, and down to the Danube. * Geographical Magazine * This is a traveller's tale at its infectious and informative best; vividly remembered and beautifully written * Church Times * A tremendous journey ... and he's fabulous company * Manchester Evening News * Every page of this book is distinguished by an image, a metaphor, a flash of humour always original and sometimes as incisive as a laser beam. Architecture, art, genealogy, quirks of history and language are all devoured - and here passed on - with a gusto uniquely his * Colin Thubron, Sunday Telegraph * A treasure chest of descriptive writing * Spectator * Nothing short of a masterpiece * Jan Morris * [Fermor's] gloriously ornate account of that epic journey is a classic of what we might call the 'literature of the leg' * Robert Macfarlane, Waitrose Weekend * In December 1933, at the age of eighteen, Patrick Leigh Fermor (1915-2011) walked across Europe, reaching Constantinople in early 1935.
Reviews
"Eve though Leigh Fermor begins by explaining that he was thrown out of several schools before giving up on formal education, he had an impressive command of history, art, geography, classical literature and the English language."
"Compared with all other travel essayists with whom I'm familiar, Fermor is notable for the lens through which he observes his foreign surroundings, i.e. a knowledge of the classics acquired from an English public school's liberal education. Concave and convex uncoil and pursue each other across the pilasters in ferny arabesques, liquid notions ripple, waterfalls running silver and blue drop to lintels and hang frozen there in curtains of artificial icicles. Light is distributed operatically and skies open in a new change of gravity that has lifted wingless saints and evangelists on journeys of aspiration towards three-dimensional sunbursts and left them levitated there, floating among cornices and spandrels and acanthus leaves and architectural ribands crinkled still with pleats from lying long folded kin bandboxes." Sinuous and beautiful fortune-tellers, stagily coifed and ear-ringed and flounced in tiers of yellow and magenta and apple-green, perfunctorily shuffled their cards and proffered them in dog-eared fans as they strolled through the crowds, laying soft-voiced and unrelenting siege to every stranger they met. Sinking flush with the landscape, the town quickly fell to pieces and gave way to an ambiguous fringe of huts and wagons and fires and winter flies where a tangle of brown children scampered and wrestled in the mud among the skirmishing and coupling dogs."
"He walks through Germany, among others, and finds many of its people are cultivated and kind and generous. But as a travel writer and memoirist, he cannot be surpassed."
"The author is amazingly well read and uses an interesting, often amusing, vocabulary."
"Language so rich you want to read it aloud savoring the words and the vision they create."

Wild (Oprah's Book Club 2.0 Digital Edition): From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 selection: This special eBook edition of Cheryl Strayed’s national best seller, Wild ,features exclusive content, including Oprah’s personal notes highlighted within the text, and a reading group guide. Amazon Best Books of the Month, March 2012: At age 26, following the death of her mother, divorce, and a run of reckless behavior, Cheryl Strayed found herself alone near the foot of the Pacific Crest Trail--inexperienced, over-equipped, and desperate to reclaim her life. While readers looking for adventure or a naturalist's perspective may be distracted by the emotional odyssey at the core of the story, Wild vividly describes the grueling life of the long-distance hiker, the ubiquitous perils of the PCT, and its peculiar community of wanderers. But Strayed doesn't want sympathy, and her confident prose stands on its own, deftly pulling both threads into a story that inhabits a unique riparian zone between wilderness tale and personal-redemption memoir. Two months before Wild was published I stood on a Mexican beach at sunset with my family assisting dozens of baby turtles on their stumbling journey across the sand, then watching as they disappeared into the sea. Echoing the ever-popular search for wilderness salvation by Chris McCandless (Back to the Wild, 2011) and every other modern-day disciple of Thoreau, Strayed tells the story of her emotional devastation after the death of her mother and the weeks she spent hiking the 1,100-mile Pacific Crest Trail. As her family, marriage, and sanity go to pieces, Strayed drifts into spontaneous encounters with other men, to the consternation of her confused husband, and eventually hits rock bottom while shooting up heroin with a new boyfriend. Woefully unprepared (she fails to read about the trail, buy boots that fit, or pack practically), she relies on the kindness and assistance of those she meets along the way, much as McCandless did.
Reviews
"Although I did not hike the PCT I did backpack in Yosemite."
"Cheryl Strayed's memoir of an 1100 miles trek on the Pacific Crest trail is an astonishing story of a spectacular and breathtaking adventure of coming to terms with grief and survival during a difficult trek through snow_clad mountains and thick forests for two months beginning in the Mojave desert and hiking through California and Oregon to the Bridge of Gods in Washington."
"This book is not for everyone, you either seem to love it or hate it, but I loved it."
"The author tells her personal story which includes a lot of her flaws and mistakes. I'm grateful for the author's willingness to share this with enough detail to make the reader understand her state of mind and her experience of events."
"Having hiked, during my long life, on four continents, along trails of varying degrees of intensity, I empathised with every painful step this young, intelligent and courageous woman endured on the extremely challenging Pacific Crest Hiking Trail on the North American continent."
"I am an experienced hiker and Cheryl Strayed was an outdoor person but not a hiker of the type who usually attempts an extreme hike. Her writing is so good that I could envision each part of the trail as she hiked along the PCT."

Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash
A Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist takes readers on a surprising tour of the world of garbage. Take a journey inside the secret world of our biggest export, our most prodigious product, and our greatest legacy: our trash. Humes, in short, presents us with a compelling problem—and most of his arguments for the rank inefficiency of our trash-happy, terminally obsolescent economy are spot on. –Samuel Fromartz, author of Organic, Inc. and Editor-in-Chief of the Food & Environment Reporting Network. "Humes's argument isn't a castigation of litterbugs.
Reviews
"I encountered this book by chance when part of the NPR interview of Edward Humes, author of Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash caught my attention. In the interview, Humes was talking about Bakelite, an early plastic that was used for billiard balls, piano keys, and telephones -- things that were meant to be durable, and have long, even heirloom-length, lives. Humes opens the book with an anecdote of elderly hoarders, Jesse & Thelma Gaston, who had been trapped in their own home, by their own trash, for three weeks. His punchline is startling: "But little if any thought is given to the refuse itself, or to the rather scarier question of how any person, hoarder or not, can possibly generate so much trash so quickly. Part 1: The Biggest Thing We Make describes how America deals with trash, how it has been dealt with in the past, and some "paths not taken" in the history of American waste management. It goes against what we might assume, that "someone out there" knows what happens to the cans we put in the recycling, or the printer cartridges that we drop off at Office Depot, but in fact there is not really a clear, readily followable chain for where stuff goes when we're done with it (except the landfill) as there is for how to get it into our hands. The remainder of the section talks about the efforts communities around the world and one Marin County, California family of four has been working to reduce their waste, one innovative idea at a time."
"Likewise, the book is comprehensive, researched, and diverse, as to present sound arguments for the author's theories and conclusions (which, I might add, are largely neutral, objective, and unbiased, to a commendable degree). By examining the overt topic and its asides, we are treated to an overview of the human experience in general, touching on everything from the political to the social to the historical to the cosmic, with psychological studies throughout -- a veritable smorgasbord of food-for-thought (and none of it unappetizing, so to speak). If I had to list a negative, it would be that 'Garbology' at times relies a bit too heavily on statistics and similarly one-dimensional data to make its case (or so I read it as, anyhow)."

"Fun, light read, quick read."
"Absolutely great book!"
"A nice realaxing read to destress and unwind."
"I have been looking for this book for ages, I wanted the printed version but I settled down with the Ebook."
"Amazing!!!"
"A great book for the Parisian girls out there."
"I bought this book for my teenage daughter and she loves it!"
"I live in NYC where there's a lovesick affair with all things French -- I mean, there are buildings here named "The Left Bank". The tone is informative, yet intentionally self-deprecating, 'cause, like, "let's not turn off the American audience with our snobbisms and superiority complex! She's naturally confident, having grown up with an excellent French education that has cultivated her in philosophy, arts, literature, and good taste. Chapter 2: Collection of Disjointed Listicles. -Being Aloof: "talk softly so that people have to lean in to hear you", "Always look as if gazing into the sunset." Chapter 3: More Fashion + Culture Stuff. -Lists of "essential" wardrobe items which you've seen in magazines/blogs 100x before (ballet flats, white shirt, scarf, trench...). -More random diary-like musings on books (Proust is a given), savoring the moment, poetic odes to sitting at cafes, aging gracefully. Chapter 4: Love. Few of these bullet points will work if you're seducing an American man. This is not an instructional manual-- it's more to help you understand the liberal French attitude towards love and sex; where sexual jokes are totally normal in office environment, where having a lover on the side is natural. Chapter 5: Filler Lists of Stuff. -Recipes for crepes, baked apples, eggplant caviar + more. -Parlor games to play at a dinner party. -List of French words used in English + vice versa ("trompe l'oeil"). -The authors' favorite Paris haunts, films, quotes. Ok, some redeeming moments -- the games are actually fun, and the recipes authentic. But the rest of this "book" of lists is easily found on various blogs and articles on French style."

Boomerang: Travels in the New Third World
The tsunami of cheap credit that rolled across the planet between 2002 and 2008 was more than a simple financial phenomenon: it was temptation, offering entire societies the chance to reveal aspects of their characters they could not normally afford to indulge. Lewis 's rare gift as a guide through the world of credit default swaps and sovereign debt doesn t come simply from his deep understanding of how the global financial system works . --Chuck Leddy. Michael Lewis possesses the rare storyteller 's ability to make virtually any subject both lucid and compelling. Combining his easy familiarity with finance and the talents of a travel writer, Mr. Lewis sets off in these pages to give the reader a guided tour through some of the disparate places hard hit by the fiscal tsunami of 2008, like Greece, Iceland and Ireland, tracing how very different people for very different reasons gorged on the cheap credit available in the prelude to that disaster. And in this book he weaves their stories into a sharp-edged narrative that leaves readers with a visceral understanding of the fiscal recklessness that lies behind today 's headlines about Europe 's growing debt problems and the risk of contagion they now pose to the world. "He's talking about European countries that drank the elixir of seemingly endless and cheap credit prior to the bursting of the recent financial bubble. What would you call a man who owns a 40,000 square foot ranch located on thousands of acres in the middle of nowhere with its own water supply and an arsenal of automatic weapons? to various governments, to the point that eventually markets would question the credibility of these governments. Just as Bass bought credit default swaps on subprime mortgages prior to the financial crisis, Bass later bought credit default swaps on Greek government bonds, because he was convinced that Greece would be one of the first countries to experience real problems. Ireland: "But while the Icelandic male used foreign money to conquer foreign places--trophy companies in Britain, chunks of Scandinavia--the Irish male used foreign money to conquer Ireland. Germany: "Either Germans must agree to integrate Europe fiscally, so that Germany and Greece bear the same relationship to each other as, say, Indiana and Mississippi (the tax dollars of ordinary Germans would go into a common coffer and be used to pay for the lifestyles of ordinary Greeks) or the Greeks (and probably, eventually, every non-German) must introduce `structural reforms,' a euphemism for magically and radically transforming themselves into a people as efficient and productive as the Germans." We've got the core of the average lizard.'. Wrapped around this reptilian core is a mammalian layer (associated with maternal concern and social interaction), and around that is wrapped a third layer, which enables feats of memory and the capacity for abstract thought. 'The only problem is our passions are still driven by the lizard core.'."
"His sense of humor makes the painful truths his reveals somewhat less painful to confront -- although even he is at a loss at times when he meets up with some of the people in positions of power & responsibility who have screwed things up for their respective countries."
"Something like a travelogue told through stories involving meeting bankers, indebted individuals, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even monks. The reality turned out to be different and as a result of not being able to think outside the box (i.e., not being able to imagine others not “following the rules”) they ended up being badly burned. In the US the problem was consumerism run amuck combined with the fact that society wanted things without having to pay for them. Albeit the stories only examine societal phychology in a pretty simple way, only through the rather narrow lens of relatively short trips (he stayed for only a few weeks in each country), the author seems to have hit the nail on the head. Hence the book is highly recommended despite its dearth of a sophisticated analysis of macroeconomic issues contributing to each nation’s disaster."
