Based on his father's bestselling The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People , Sean Covey applies the same principles to teens, using a vivacious, entertaining style. To keep it fun, Covey writes, he "stuffed it full of cartoons, clever ideas, great quotes, and incredible stories about real teens from all over the world... along with a few other surprises." Flip open to any page and become instantly absorbed in real-life stories of teens who have overcome obstacles to succeed, and step-by-step guides to shifting paradigms, building equity in "relationship bank accounts," creating action plans, and much more. As a self-acknowledged guinea pig for many of his dad's theories, Sean Covey is a living example of someone who has taken each of the seven habits to heart: be proactive; begin with the end in mind; put first things first; think win-win; seek first to understand, then to be understood; synergize; and sharpen the saw.

It explains the law of attraction in relation to teen issues such as friends and popularity, schoolwork, self-image, and relationships. Grade 8 Up—Harrington promises to reveal the most powerful law in the universe that teens can then use to "create the life of their dreams." Thinking positive thoughts is all well and good, but when the author writes that optimistic thinking will clear up pimples or that avoiding news coverage about current events (because it will only attract bad thoughts) will keep you healthy and on the right track, it puts the credibility of this self-help guide in doubt. This is a philosophy of blaming the victims, placing the onus for bad things happening in their lives squarely on them.— Geri Diorio, The Ridgefield Library, CT Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. This book is recommended for teens, parents of teens, professionals working with teens, and anyone who is interested in learning how to take control of their mind. , by Jacqui Letran, is a book written to help young girls unlock the tools to overcome many of the mental hurdles which frequently present challenges for teens. Letran helps readers understand how the mind can often send confusing (and sometimes detrimental) signals as a means of protecting one's-self from pain. The author breaks down the root causes of many mental obstacles which can often seem insurmountable while providing solutions for long-term stability and happiness. "Readers' Favorite is proud to announce that "I would, but My DAMN MIND won't let me" by Jacqui Letran is a Gold Medal Winner in the Young Adult - Non-Fiction category in our 2016 International Book Award Contest." I was impressed by the way the author introduces the complex and complicated processes that go on in the human mind and especially appreciated how she's adapted her findings and techniques to work with young women. Her case studies were fascinating and clearly demonstrated how depression and other mental health issues can sometimes be resolved without the use of medicines and traditional therapeutic methods. The book connects well with teenagers as it is about their stress and anxiety, and is a useful tool in transforming their thinking power in both the conscious and subconscious mind. Not only an excellent read, but a necessary one for anyone who feels they could do with a better grip on their lives, or for that matter, a better understanding of what might be affecting people or family or kids in one's immediate circle. Jacqui Letran is a passionate and energetic leader who is truly gifted at helping teens transform into confident, happy and successful young adults. She has 17 years of experience in Adolescent Health as a Nurse Practitioner, Success Coach, and Teen Confidence Expert. "There are parents and few friends saying this book isn't appropriate for my kids my age. That fact alone is enough reason why younger kids need to read this book and know about this stuff."
"It takes a lot for me to sit still long enough to read a book for 20 minutes, but i did love this book, and managed to sit a couple hours. "Berniecrats are still loud and successfully forcing the Democrats to adopt more progressive policies that many many Americans want like Single Payer Heathcare. "Sanders has long advocated for a social-democratic system (which is capitalist, not socialist) – one that has been implemented to moderate-to-excellent success in Canada, Australia and many European countries – but these smearers only cite fringe-example countries like Venezuela and Cuba, which are hard-line dictatorships and a very perverted representation of any ideology they claim to be about."
