"With the the portability and ease of reading electronically I am reliving the stories of Clare and Jamie and Brianna and Roger et al again. Diana delivers the emotion, sights, sounds, smells, triumphs and failures with her words. She always finds alliterative and clever phrasing to bring everything alive - whether it is a trip across the sea or a dangerous encounter or mundane every tasks or Clare and Jamie enjoying the delights of each other intimately."
"I am reading again so I can be up to date (in my wee brain) on what will be happening in the TV series on Starz."
"Claire and Jamie are fun to read about, and spending time in 18th century France and Scotland is a blast."
"The book starts with the heroine in Scotland just after WWII and she accidentally goes back 200 years in time. I can see a wide range of complaints from too much romance, violence, torture, sex, intrigue, too many characters, too much discussion about medicine, the scenery and the weather."
"This is my second time reading this series."
"While I truly relish D. Gabaldon's writing, I feel that the tale is greatly enhanced by Davina Porter's as narrator. Suffice it to say that this is the continuation of the story of the lives of Claire Beauchamp and Jamie Fraser after they're forced to marry. When I'm feeling industrious I intend to look this up and check the facts against the plot line."
Her first trip swept her into the arms of Jamie Fraser, an eighteenth-century Scot whose love for her became legend—a tale of tragic passion that ended with her return to the present to bear his child. But as Brianna plunges into an uncharted wilderness, a heartbreaking encounter may strand her forever in the past...or root her in the place she should be, where her heart and soul belong.... Claire Randall, the post-WWII bride of historian Frank Randall, steps through a skew in the Scottish stone circle Craigh na Dun and lands in Revolutionary America and the arms of Highlander Jamie Fraser?putting a new spin on the notion of a two-timing woman. She takes off on a harrowing, confrontational quest through time and space with her suitor, Roger Wakefield, in hot pursuit. Gabaldon's range is impressive, whether she's evoking the rawness of colonial America, the cozy clutter of a modern Scottish parsonage, the lusts of the body or the yearnings of the spirit.

We know from the blurb that Claire goes back in time to find Jamie now that she knows he’s alive – but twenty years have passed. There is a ton of angst, kidnapping, arson, prison, murder, glorious sex, shipwrecks, and even the return of a character that I never thought I’d see again. At one point I skipped through my kitchen and squealed while my husband gave me side eye and shook his head. At another point I had silent tears streaming down my face as a piece of my heart broke off. There’s a lot packed into these pages that will keep you up at night and have you thinking about it during the day.I dreamed about this book, twining it into my sleep as well as my days. The attention to detail is outstanding and Diana knows just how far she can push you before you need a reprieve, and then she reels you back in with Jamie & Claire."
"They are currently in a perilous time of her past and his present."
"I enjoyed both the book and show."
"If you like time travel, romance, historical fiction expertly woven through the plot then this book is especially for you!"
"I listen while working out, in the car and when we loose power due to inclement weather."
"Beautifully written and rich in historical detail."
"What's not to love about Diana Gabaldon's writing, especially if you like details."
"I have loaned out my outlander series to various friends - and then they do not give them back because the books are phenomenal."

"Sorry I don't have time/ desire to post a longer review but here goes: The heroine is a bit annoying... wish her sense of agency and empowerment were effected more often by planing, cleverness, and guile and less often by stomping her dainty boot on the ground."
"A great read."
"While I know some of the 1948 details are incorrect (my family was in Scotland temporarily, on their way to France, in 1950, and food was still very scarce, with strict rationing in effect), the 18th century details seem somewhat more accurate."
"Say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing and you would be classified as a witch as Claire was. But at this moment, travel through time is not possible and may never be."
"Thank you DG, LOVE THE STARZ OUTLANDER TOO EXCEPT WHEN THEY DELETED THE WEDDING NGHT WHAT CLAIR SAID TO JAMIE "go slowing and pay attention" Could have instructed another generation or two husbands but they let slip by, oh well, that's life."

Lachlan McDonnel, the laird of a clan of immortal highlanders, can hardly believe his good fortune. Lachlan is the first book in the Immortal Highlander series. "A Great Time Travel Historical Romance! - The Romance Junkie Blog " 14th century Scotland was never so good! ". I love time travel romance and Ms Hunter as usual did not disappoint. An absolute page turner, emotional, intriguing and hot. " I haven't read a historical romance that was this good since Heather Graham in the viking series!!! " I love how you made the heroine strong, smart, and someone who could contribute to the cause. " The world-building and character-building in this book are outstanding , you get transported back in time right alongside Kinley and the adventure of a lifetime ensues with Kinley and Lachlan as your companions. I loved both Kinley and Lachlan, the relationship between them is believable and I really liked the mutual respect as well as their romance." Scorching erotic romance, time-travel, mysteries, traitors, vile evil-doers, normal humans, immortals, and a beautiful love story. I was glued to my seat, white knuckling my ereader, completely captivated with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the time flew as quickly as the pages! I literally finished this book in an evening and into the night because I could not put it down. ".

"The words Immortal Highlander got my interest, the cover did the rest, oh bare chested hunky men, Highlanders at that, I’m in seventh heaven, never mind reading the book."
"there was a little bit of too much gore and too much raping women by the vampires in this book but I guess it was expected for the plot."
