"The pot visually lets you know when it's safe to open the pot, by the float valve (the little silver post that pops up when the pot is pressurized) dropping back down flush with the lid instead of being popped up. The sauté function has three temperature settings: 'Normal' heats to 320 degrees, 'More' heats to 338 degrees, and 'Less' heats to 221 degrees (all in Fahrenheit). For pressure cooking, you will probably use 'manual' nearly all the time (nearly every Instant Pot cookbook I've read relies on the manual setting almost exclusively). The preprogrammed settings each have their own timing, and *variable* pressure, which the pot manipulates by manipulating the temperature of the contents (the higher the temperature, the higher the pressure). After you hit 'manual' to start cooking, you then set the amount of time you want it to cook at pressure, after which you will have a 10-second grace period (for example to add more time, etc. So you need to take into account the time it will take to reach full pressure (which depends on many variables, including what is in the contents of the pot, what temperature they started at, and your altitude), *and* how long it will take for the pressure to be released and normalized (i.e. for the float valve to pop in, which of course is really "dropping in", but you get the point). All Instant Pot recipes will include (or *should* include) either one of these terms: natural pressure release (also known as NPR), or quick pressure release (QPR or QR). What these mean is simply either "let the pressure dissipate on its own" (natural pressure release), or "force the pressure to escape immediately by turning the steam release handle counter-clockwise to the open position (quick release). A really good example of a food needing quick release is poached eggs (which come out *perfectly* in the Instant Pot (see how to poach eggs in the Instant Pot below)). For example, for any recipe that includes sautéing in the pot first, then adding ingredients and then starting pressure cooking, you definitely want to have everything lined up before you start. I didn't fully appreciate, until several days in, just how amazing this aspect of the Instant Pot is: you can start something cooking in it, and then *walk away* - even leave the house, and it will finish cooking just like you instructed, and be *perfectly done*, and then it will *keep it warm for up to 10 hours*! (I think this is the thing that pressure cooker purists who try to talk people out of getting an Instant Pot, rather than a stovetop pressure cooker, fail to understand. You definitely will want this steamer basket for your Instant Pot (the Instant Pot comes with a little steaming trivet, but this steamer basket is *way* more useful - in fact it's how you make both poached eggs and baked potatoes). There are different reasons for doing this, ranging from "I only want to cook a small amount of something like oatmeal" to "I want to cook a cheesecake in my Instant Pot" to "I want to cook two different things at the same time in my Instant Pot (like cooking beans, and having a bowl of rice on a trivet (see why you want a good trivet?). "I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any food DIRECTLY on this pan. Don't trust all that gray metallic colored residue that comes off in the washing process. Update Feb 20, 2012: I sent Nordic Ware an e-mail asking if they could explain the reason for all the gray metal color all over everything when I wash this pan. I told them I was very happy to buy a pan made in the USA and the product did perform flawlessly. Update Nov 19, 2012: After almost a year someone commented on my feedback suggesting I try contacting Nordic Ware customer service again. I just got an e-mail saying they received it, reviewed the information, and they're sending me a new pan because THE GRAYING I'M EXPERIENCING IS NOT NORMAL."
"The cookies on my old sheet started burning on the bottom so I took them out a few minutes earlier than the nordicware."
"The prefect pan to make Texas sheet cakes in!!"
"This is the best commercial baking sheet that I have ever owned."
"Doesn't say made in the USA."
"The pans would warp when heated, often causing the food on them to 'jump' when taking something out of the oven as the pan would shift/flex abruptly from changes in temperature."
"I was planning to return them, as I already had two PAN USA half sheets and two PAN USA cookie sheets."

"When you put iced/cold beverages into them, they stay cold not for a few hours, but a whole day, or overnight. It was a bonus for the Atlins to also have the straw and straw cleaner. We only use them for cold drinks though, so not sure how they would do with something hot."
"Way to hard to keep clean , while this Atkin mug is so easy to clean , no little parts and soooo much cheaper then Teavana ."
"There is a metal straw and a cleaning brush for the straw, however I don't use the metal straw at all. Just started using the metal straw and wow I'm a convert, I might sound like a complete green head but the amount of plastic straws that'll be saved from my consumption, I'm totally gonna gravitate towards using reusable straws from now on."
"I recently bought this tumbler because the company I work for just moved to distance which requires longer traveling time. I was driving to work, took a sip and noticed that the coffee taste was different from what it was after brewing it at home. The next day after washing the tumbler and lid multiple times, I tried again and again the coffee taste was altered, but I didn't know why. I really needed a large cup to carry my coffee so I figured I'll try again, but without the lid this time. Please see the email exchange below between me and Atlin support team and how they decided to handle this issue. Best Regards, Ada. Power-innovation Customer Service. That was how Atlin decided to handle this issue, by telling me not to use the lid which was purchased with the tumbler as a unit."

WHAT'S IN THE BOX: The Keurig K55 K-Cup Single Serve Coffee Maker includes 4 K-Cup pods and a water filter handle + 2 water filters to help your beverages taste their best. This process helps to remove calcium deposits, or scale, that can build up inside a coffee maker over time. AUTO-OFF: An auto-off feature is easily programmed to turn off your coffee maker after it has been idle for two hours, helping to save energy.

Find Best Price at Amazon"We already had a standard coffee maker but I didn't want to brew a whole pot of coffee at once and single-serve coffee makers seem to be very popular so I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. I had seen several different Keurigs from the basic ones to very fancy ones but wanted to purchase one that both fulfilled my needs to brew a single cup of coffee and wasn't too expensive so I opted to buy the Keurig K55 Coffee Maker in black. Brewing: To brew a cup of coffee is very simple. When the three cup sizes illuminate in blue, you know it's time to brew your coffee. If someone else wants to brew a cup of coffee right after yours is done, all they have to do is remove your K-cup pod since they are single-use pods, add theirs and repeat the process. Water Reservoir: The reservoir holds 48 ounces of water so you don't have to fill it up every time you want to brew a new cup of coffee, which is one of the reasons I selected this model. ): The Keurig K55 Coffee Maker uses the K-cup pods, which you can purchase nearly everywhere and there are many brands and flavors to choose from. For instance, my mom and I have brewed cups of coffee one right after the other (different flavors) and neither of us have noticed the other flavor in our respective cups. I've only brewed one cup of apple cider with this and haven't noticed the previous coffee flavor in the apple cider or the apple cider in my next cup of coffee. It's not too loud when it's brewing the cup of coffee. It's a great model that is nice on your wallet and will brew a great cup of coffee as often as you'd like! I typically brew four cups of coffee a day now to keep up with my kids and I've had no trouble with using this Keurig."
"This is what made me a fan of coffee."
"However, we feel that the Keurig K55 coffee maker has proved superior to any of our previous coffee brewers. I like strong coffee, or sometimes I like to have flavored coffee, and my sister-in-law likes the same coffee that I do. Aside from the 5 press buttons to regulate the Keurig coffee maker, there are 3 other LED light indicators. Add Water – a Blue LED will light up. If there is not enough water, the coffee maker will not work, therefore I consider this indicator as a safety feature, as well as a resolution to a possible ‘user error’. WATER RESERVOIR: Included with the Keurig K55 is a Charcoal Water filter Cartridge Kit with 2 charcoal filters. This will eliminate the unwanted chemical taste that is in some water systems, and good tasting water is essential for a delicious cup of coffee. In addition, this coffee maker will accommodate my 7 ¼” coffee thermos by sliding the drip tray out from bottom base, and I can have my thermos filled when placed on the bottom flat tray base. THE KEURIG K55 ACCOMMODATES REUSABLE COFFEE FILTERS: My favorite coffee is from fresh beans that I grind myself, and therefore it’s important to me that a coffee maker will accommodate a reusable filter. The reusable coffer pod filter that I use is the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter (Single) – and this is compatible with the Keurig K55 model. This machine comes with a ‘Charcoal Water Filter Cartridge Kit and 2 charcoal pod filters, which guarantees excellent coffee, even though we have ‘hard water’ (which tastes awful) in our water system."

It is not clear from the listing above, but if you look closely, below the ordering information, there is a small note stating that this item will ship in its original box. With the extra box, my Lodge arrived very carefully packaged, and the pot was in perfect, pristine condition. The Lodge dutch oven has lovely exterior enamel and the cast iron is a bit heavier than other models."
"Although the item doesn't state it, Lodge replaced all their silly plastic lid knobs with steel ones... meaning they can be in a 500F oven!"
"I haven't cooked in mine yet, but I did in the one my son has and he's had his for a few years, and it's still in perfect condition. Update: After using this gorgeous pot weekly for the past 5 months it still looks brand new as if I just pulled it out of the box with the exception of 1 small pin size spot on the inside enamel missing."
"Product received with a chip in the lid."
"But today when I brown chicken breast, I heard of a pop and the oven looks like as following pic.I promise I followed all the thing listing on the instruction, wash it by hand, never heat it when it's empty."
"I purchased a Lodge EC6D43 Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, 6-Quart, Island Spice Red on January 31, 2017. After reading amazon feedback, there appears to be a number of people with similar problems. I am waiting to hear back from Lodge, but probably should have gone with a higher end product."
"Enamel inside bottom chipped on the second use."
"Outside package was not damaged but as soon as I opened the box there was green enamel all on the inside!"

I decided I would go with Etekcity Line IR thermometer based on Amazon Best seller Etekcity 774 (best seller most reviewed and priced very affordable at $16.88). After researching other Etekcity models I found many different options that offered different ranges, features, and spot/distance ratios up to 16:1 with 12:1 being the higher standard and what most higher end brands have.. spot/distance ratios range from 8:1 to 16:1 in this class of IR tool. I submitted a question to them through Amazon and Etekcity responded within the same day offering to call me , as I had a lot of questions..I was able to immediately open a chat conversation with Etekcity customer reps and they were VERY helpful in explaining to me the advantages / differences in all of their IR thermometers. First impression was how it was packaged in a nice solid cardboard box ( unlike the plastic blister packs of the others including the Klein. The most features, options and in my tests most accurate ( accuracy is negligible between 800 & 630 both are well with in the +/- .5 to 2.0 tolerance). Features: Dual laser for better accuracy. 16:1 Distance to Spot Ratio. Emissivity: ADJUSTABLE. Range: -58℉~1076℉. Multi function menu options ( MAX/Min temp setting, AVG and Diff/ TD). I chose the 630 over the 800 mainly due to the extra menu options ( AVG, MAX, MIn , Diff) adjustable emissivity ,and dual laser aside form that the 800 & 630 perform identically. the 1022D and 774 are priced well at under $20.00 but for more features and higher specs I think one will not go wrong with the Etekcity 800 or Feature rich Etekcity 630."
"This device is probably the best single purchase that I have made on Amazon in my three-plus years of Prime membership. It functions wonderfully as a distance thermometer, shining a tiny red dot on what I'm measuring and, based on comparison with a thermoscan camera at work, is pretty accurate across a range of temperatures from 0°F up to about 400°F. The button that turns on the device has a very soft click, barely perceptible, so it won't distract your faithful (or in the case of cats) persistent companions. *Probably won't reliably measure the temperature of flames at a safe enough distance, so don't get too close to fire."
"I bought this product because I thought my refrigerator was not cold enough, and I saw the tech that previously came out using a lazer thermometer to gauge the temps inside."

"I have MS, so heat is a big problem and issue for me, so I needed a really good oven mitt. It didn't even burn the mitt, thank goodness, because I am sure that will not be the first time I will do that. I decided to take a big risk and I stuck the mitt on and stuck my hand in the boiling water in the hot bath and pulled the jars, I never felt the heat or a drop of water, now, I DO NOT recommend sticking your hand in boiling water, but I was home alone and was desperate, if they had not of held up things could have went horribly different, but they did work, thank goodness for that."
"One reason I bought them is the thumbs on my old ones get dirty from soup & stuff, and to clean them you have to wash them."
"I have had black silicone (or other similar material) gloves that have done so."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I'd been using the same small dependable hand-held electric can opener for the past 25+ years until it finally gave up the ghost. After getting hand cramps from my old manual opener, though, I finally opted for this Hamilton Beach model. I'd never much cared for the side-cut openers before because liquids inside the can seemed to spill more easily with the lower edge, so this higher-cutting model is much better IMO. The top push-down lever depresses easily and the magnet on the opener holds the can securely in place while it's cutting. I found that this is important because if you allow it to continue making rotations, it cuts long narrow slivers of the can which are noticeable when you remove the top (looks like a tiny strand of steel wool)."
"This Hamilton Beach Can Opener had caught my eye from all the great 5 Star reviews it showed, and from Reviews as far back as year 2009 which shows Hamilton Beach knows they have a high quality well built very popular can opener. The can opener is what you would design in your mind as having every feature a High Quality Can Opener would have, well designed and solidly built."

"Came across the Hamilton Beach can opener and was surprised by all the great reviews and for $20 didn't feel like I was loosing much."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Instant Pot IP-DUO Plus60 9-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, 6 Qt - I've wanted a PC for a long time and have done a lot of research. So far, I've only had it a few days, but overall satisfied and plenty of online support for recipes and helping you decide the post PC for your needs. Large LCD Screen with Digital Display. Mute button for those beeps in the night when cooking yogurt etc. I felt I could scrub and treat the pot however I wanted and not worry about scratching and what utensils to not use. It had the trivet with handles, condensation collector, Rice Paddle & spoon and a couple intro guides/cookbooks. A lot of their verbiage refers to PPCXL, but not necessarily when you go select your items for your shopping cart. I belong to a Pressure Cooker group - there are a lot of complaints about other manufacturer's instructions, quick start guide, etc. Lots of issues with lids locking, not pressurizing etc and I really don't see this for the Instant Pot family of PCs. I got the OXO Good Grips steamer with extendable handle and a pack of 3-IP Rings color coded (dark for savory meats, orange for desserts and I will use the clear for yogurt). I'm also buying IP Silicone Mitts for easy removal of a hot pot since I will be making yogurt ($10). I bought an IP plain glass lid for slow cooker & yogurt mode. 12/29/2017 update - So on Black Friday I bought the 3 qt Instant Pot because I felt like I need to have twins. I made an entire Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas (Irma got in our way last month repairing) in the 2 pots. In future years, I'll prob just bring the 3 qt cause it fits better in my cabinets in the mobile home."
"Soups and other meals that take more time traditionally are ready in a half hour or less, and yet they taste like they've been cooking all day! I love being able to cut down on how many pots I'm using, especially during the work week when time in the evenings is sparse. Oh my god it stinks to high heaven no matter what you do after you cook something with a savory spice like curry or chili powder."
"We had a tiny rice cooker that finally completely died, and that's what prompted me to make this purchase. My multi-grain (oat groats, wheat berries, millet, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, steel cut oats) cereal is amazing, and I can make a full pot or an individual serving, and they both come out perfectly. I love that when my kids request oatmeal (we eat steel cut) for breakfast, I can now make that happen. It used to be a weekend thing, because who has time to stir oats on the stove for an hour before school? I suppose the biggest testimony to how I feel about my instant pot is that it has earned permanent space on my countertop."
"When the cycle is eventually finished and we open the pot, the water inside is completely gone (and yes we are using the proper amount of water) and the bottom of the pot is all burned and brown."

Find Best Price at Amazon"A few minutes in the microwave shouldnt be too much punishment for these things to bear, I wouldnt think (it looks dirty in the picture but its not and i've scraped at them so its obvious that its like, melted, into the plastic or something) Other than that, they're pretty good."
"Overall I give them four out of five stars for the following: Pros. - Price. - the lids snap together. - no leaks. - you can freeze, microwave, and wash them in the dishwasher. - made in the usa. Cons. - you can't microwave the lid without it warping somewhat. - when dropped I have had edges break off. - they stain rather easily and I have had some of the actual containers melt/plastic bubble. They store food relatively well and despite a few flaws (that you'd expect with any set of plastic storage- if you don't want staining/occasional melting problems I would suggest paying the 3x more for a glass set) I've only had to throw out maybe three of them."

Find Best Price at Amazon"So far, I have had no problems at all, but I think this will be the weakest thing about this glass."
"We have bought a few of these from Academy as gifts and my wife owns one (you can tell who make the BIG bucks in our house). I started looking for a tumbler because the one I was using at work was pretty beat up but I didn’t want to send $30 for one (yes I’m cheap). I did some research and by the time I got my Amazon Yeti I was armed with this information. I tried to label the pics: fake on the left in red, real on the right in green. 4) HEIGHT – The fake one is about 1/8” taller. 5) UNDER – The 2 tumblers have the “Design in in Austin…” sentence but the numbers after “China” are different. There is a difference in weight, I think the real Yetis are a bit heavier (also got this info from a YouTube video). If you are paying anything under $30 and/or if the cup is being shipped directly for China, chances it is a fake. My advice (if you want a real Yeti) buy one directly from Yeti, REI, Academy, Dick’s, Cabela’s, ACE Hardware…. At the end I did spend $30: I bought 3 Ozark Trails (look up Yeti vs Ozark Trail in YouTube) from the local Wally-Mart: two 20oz tumblers and one 30oz tumbler."

"I purchased this scale mainly to help me track my food intake as part of a basic diet and nutrition plan. [...]. PROS. * Small profile doesn't take up a lot of counter space. * Allows for measurements in a variety of units (grams, ounces, pounds, etc). * The "tare" button is the best feature because it lets me zero out the weight of a container like a small plate or bowl, and only weigh the food that I put inside that container or bowl. * Lightweight and easy to move around, store, or travel with."
"I used it to measure out everything from beef jerky and baked chips to chicken and turkey for on the grill."
"After receiving the Ozeri scale, I tested with my calibration weigh and the scale provided consistent results; $45 scale is out, and the $14 scale is in."
"As many reviewers have noted, the display is small and thoughtlessly placed relative to the scale platform, so yes, your view is obstructed when using bigger dishes. I honestly thought I would not be vexed by this, but I have to admit it does get rather annoying to have to keep bending down to get a view of the readout. It has helped me tremendously while recording my meals, I haven't had to replace the batteries since I purchased it several months ago, it does automatically go off but in an appropriate amount of time (I've never had it go off on me while I was cooking), it has several different units of measurement, and the tare option works great."
"Love this scale."
"It's hard to tell if those who slammed this product really have bad scales or just expect too much (or have a strong ceiling fan on overhead) but mine works great."
"If you have something larger than the top plate to measure, it can be a little difficult to see the readout."

"I just love my new knife set! My favorite knife in the set is the smaller Santoku knife."
"I picked this set in particular over other Chicago Cutlery sets that i was looking at because I prefer the slightly rubberized grips on these ones versus the slick plastic handles on some of the others. I wanted to mention the steak knives that come with the set just because they seemed to be a point of concern in the other reviews I read about these knives before I bought them. I decided to buy them anyway because the steak knives are just sort of included and not what I was really buying the set for. The steak knives are made of one piece of metal without the rubberized handles that the rest of the other knives have, and feel light in your hand."
"Very sharp and love these knives."
"Sharp and hefty...if you want a completely forged set, not where the steak knives are stamped, this is an excellent value."
"Incredibly sharp, beautifully designed and I agree 100% to those who said the knives did not line up right in the block, but they are nicer than any I've EVER set out to use, having the steak knife perfectly match our silverware."
"I attempted to cut a pineapple today with the largest knife and the handle literally snapped off while making the first cut."
"I ended up buying some Cuisinart knives that are cheaper, seem to be just as sharp and hopefully last a lot longer than 2 weeks of minimal use."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I bought this dehydrator sort of like many people did: after reading the things you can do with it, I got all excited, thinking, "I'm going to dehydrate EVERYTHING and it's going to be amazing!!!" So far, I've used the dehydrator to make a couple of batches of each of: - Apple chips (thin apple slices soaked for a few hours in a combo of lemon juice and cranberry juice, then dried). - beef jerky (this dehydrator comes with a starter park for jerky, plus I made my own marinade the next time). - chicken jerky. - bacon bits (the ends and "bad cuts" of my own home-cured, smoked bacon, finely chopped, cooked, and then dehydrated. The temperature can be dialed in from 95ºF to 160ºF as printed on the top (remember that problem I mentioned? Well, I have tested the actual running temperature of the dehydrator against the printed values on the dial, and they're not even close. I used several methods to determine the temperature: 1) A Mastercool Digital Infrared Thermometer pointed directly into an exhaust vent (see photo) with the dial set to the maximum 160ºF. 4) A digital metal probe thermometer (Lavatools Thermowand) inserted into both the upper and lower exhaust ports. In all cases (except #3, which responded too slowly) I was able to see the lower temperature at which the heater kicked on, as well as the upper temperature at which the heater turned off (in theory, this would be right around the number printed on the dial). - At the 135ºF setting on the dehydrator, the actual temperature maxed out at around 120ºF, at which point the heater turned off and the temperature dropped slowly until the heater came back on. - At the 160ºF setting (maximum), it was the same story but with an actual temperature topping out at around 135ºF. What concerns me is this unit's suitability for jerky -- the minimum recommended temperature for any meat is 160ºF when making jerky. I'm not too terribly concerned about the beef jerky because I routinely eat beef at a much lower temperature than that (though it does make a good case for refrigerating the jerky in this case), but the chicken jerky could have gone pretty badly!"
"The 3rd reason I love this dehydrator is simple, it produces the best tasting dehydrated foods I've ever had, I'm and avid outdoorsman and have dehydrated everything from deer to turkey, family friends insist I start selling the jerky made with this product. With all that being said, if you have a dehydrator that is getting old/malfunctioning or just want to start making your own dehydrated foods, this product is for you, don't pass this one up, you will not be dissatisfied with your purchase."
"First, lets talk about performance: Only in a few ocasions I could dry something with less than 12 hours using a moderate temperature and thin slices. But a 4,5 or 4,7 stars would be more fair, since this dehydrator has a lot of good points and we live in a very humid area, in the sea coast. I think if you are willing to put some peppers in a dehydrator, you should use very low temperatures, those used to dry herbs and other fragile stuff. I can not believe some people say this dehydrator makes some undesirable noise to the point that they need to put them in a room far from their bedroom otherwise they couldn't sleep! The gray and white marble finish fits incredibly well in any room, like it's camouflaged, hard to explain. Dehydrated fruits leave virtually no residue, they stick very lightly to the trays and can be easily pulled out. Not a single banana or any other fruit like apples got stuck in the trays to the point that they couldnt be removed easily with the fingers, and entire, not in fragments. (Room temperature: 28 Celsius) With 9 trays full of fruits: 1st hour: 650 Watts (average). Explanation: the first hours take more power because the machine is heating the trays so the thermostat rarely turns off. After a few hours, the thermostat only activates ocasionally to refresh the temperature, since the trays are already heated and only need a maintenance to keep the warm air flow. When the electric resistance turns off, the measure of wattage reads 28 watts, that's the power consumption of the fan (negligible). I will update this review if anything unexpected occurs, or if I have any important thing to add, like new food experiences, et cetera. To finish this review, I'd like to apologize for my awful English, I had a hard time writting this because I am not a native speaker, so tell me if something sounds odd or particularly unusual, I can clarify your questions in the comments section."

"Chopping food is exhausting and painful, so I had stopped making a lot of my favorite foods, or had switched to pre-chopped versions. This little baby has been a dream for making salads and salsas and soups, and it's easy to clean with the little brush they include. You do need to push it down with a bit of pressure, but neither fine motor skills nor repetition are involved."
"It was, frankly, amazing that our previous chopper hadn’t done so earlier, given the design that placed significant force on the hinge area (two small tabs where the lid attached) of the thin, plastic base. When I saw the design of the Mueller Onion Chopper Pro, with the hinge fully integrated into the lid of your product, I was more than happy to spend a few more bucks to get it."
"This chopper glides through onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, celery, apples, etc."
"Longevity is unknown since I just got this chopper, and being plastic means that it is unlikely to last forever, but it does feel sturdy and probably will outlive the useful life of the blades before developing any mechanical failures."
"If you cook for a big family or do meal prepping for the week ahead, I’d suggest getting this."
"Also, the swivel handle has a release button so it can be separated from the part that holds the blades for cleaning."

"It's a good feeling when you buy something such as this Mercer Genesis 6" boning knife and you feel like you've actually made a good purchase."
"This might not be the best heavy duty knife for things like cutting a watermelon or carving meat."
"Excellent knife for the money."
"It's large enough to cut anything I need to, but the grip is so comfortable it doesn't feel at all awkward to use."
"Solid knife."
"Sure the handles are a lump of plastic, but at this price and being this sharp...they’re a steal."
"I still prefer my chef knife for speed chopping, but for dissecting large veggies/fruit, this was really great."

I've had several different sizes of cutlery, scissors, tweezers, a huge butcher's knife, and even car keys on this thing and it hasn't wiggles."
"Love it."
"After years of using a knife block, we decided to free up some counter space and install this magnetic strip for our knives."
"I personally like to keep my best and sharpest blades off the countertop when cooking: Protect the blade edge and prevent any accidents. You will be happy and pleased with this product and find that it can be placed a number of places."
"It is wonderful to finally have so many of my knives off the counter (in the original box) and in a lovely organized display."
"I must admit I have a bit of a magnet fetish, so this magnetic knife/tool rack hits several high notes for me."
"Really wanted it to work for me, however longer than my cabinet and my knives wouldn’t fit on the angle- My husband swiped it up in a hurry and found a great use for it!"
"Purchased this one because the description said it would stick to a metal refrigerator via the magnet on the back of the strip."

Find Best Price at Amazon"In the second, I have cut slices with both the AmazonBasics knife and with the cheap knife I was replacing."
"It’s not just the appearance of the shredded meat bite, it’s the function; it’s even difficult to cut through a chicken breast."
"I have my everlasting and sharp as can be Cutco steak knives. If too pricey, I figured I'd order 10 and make do by pre-slicing some meat. But, you figure I needed these for one night and so long as they didn't disintegrate during the dinner, I figure it's just added cost to the dinner if they should fall apart right afterwards. Imagine my surprise when I open the box to find an actual single-piece construction, a viciously sharp serrated tip/edge and an incredibly sturdy feel in the hand. Now, given that I'm comparing this to steak knives that cost well over $500 for the set ( Cutco: https://www.cutco.com/products/product.jsp?item=4-pc-steak-knife-set ), it's not surprising that Cutco is better in terms of sharpness. Perhaps serrating the edge all the way through would have pushed the price up--in which case, fine, I'll take the first half of the knife. set, getting two of these knives is no problem at all."
"Looks well made,Good price for a set of 8.They do not cut steak very well,More of a rip and tare.Cuts chicken cutlets o.k."
"I'm not sure what it would cost to round the spine and handle scales for a more comfortable fit in the hand, but I would be willing to pay 50% more to get those improvements, plus dishwasher safe."
"I wish they came with a knife block, because they're a little too wide to fit into the block of the knife set I was replacing."
"I can tell they aren't the sharpest steak knives I've used, but these are probably the sales tax of the steak knives that are super sharp."
"These knives are great for the most part - but if you have small, delicate hands, they might not be the knives for you."

"I used to put the rice in the saucepan, add water, swish, and drain using a demilune strainer."
"This product has made it much easier to wash rice without the worry of having kernels fall through holes of a colander, and is a staple to have in any home that needs rice."
":P. This washer bowl works fantastically - all three colanders in the house had holes too large for rice (especially smaller-grain sushi rice) so we purchased this wonderful wash bowl to go along with our excellent new rice cooker."
"It's great for straining rice, but also for straining small fruits like blueberries or raspberries, as well."

Best Chef's Knives

Perfectly suited for dicing onions, mincing shallots, chopping herbs, crushing garlic, slicing meats of all varieties, and shredding cabbage, its versatility will quickly make it your go-to knife. Both lightweight and durable, the textured handle offers perfect balance and feels secure even when greasy or wet, allowing for precise and effortless cuts every time. For all of these reasons, Fibrox Pro cutlery has been the choice of culinary professionals for decades, and also due in part to the fact that it is hygienic and dishwasher safe. Whether a seasoned, or novice home chef, Victorinox Swiss Army offers not only the right tools and the know-how, but most importantly, the confidence to achieve one’s culinary aspirations. Find Best Price at Amazon"I own a cheap Wolfgang Puck cutlery set that I purchased for $35 at Sams Club (which includes the Chef's Knife). I recently purchased a Wusthof Cook's Knife based on America's Test Kitchen recommendation, and I received this Victorinox as a gift. I end up using the Victorinox more than the other knives, because I don't have to worry about the care or damaging it as much since it's a fraction of the price, and it works really well. If I'm cutting up quite a few items, I'll use the Wusthof because the weight does help to make it a little less work in the end."
"They're workhorses that perform nearly as well as - and, depending on the knife - as well or better than high-end forged instruments costing three times as much. Your high-end Japanese or German cutlery will absolutely shame Victorinox Forschner knives in terms of appearance. You will find yourself using far less muscle when slicing things with Victorinox Forschner knives, if you're used to a crappy $50 box set. A: Fibrox is Victorinox' name for a specially-textured handle material, which I'm pretty sure is just a proprietary plastic compound. This is going to sound weird, but Fibrox kind of has the texture of a cat's tongue... meaning it's a little rough. The weird thing about Fibrox - and the one reason - aside from durability and cutting performance - that so many line cooks rely on these, is the fact that they do NOT become slippery when the knife or your hands are damp. That said, you'll find that the Swiss Classic knives are more likely to come as a set, which can save you a little money over buying individually. Put it this way: My wife and I cook dinner 4-5 times per week, and on top of that, these knives also get the brunt of our general, daily use (cutting bread, etc.). You can get a feel for the brand, their handles, and their blades, and then make your future buying decisions with your experience in mind... and if you hate it... then it's not like you're out a ton of money."
"There is a slight antiseptic odour on the handle (already dissipating with just a day's use though) Nice sharp edge and a much lighter blade than my wusthof. Tried to mince some parsely today and the knife didn't do a very good job...cutting board was stained green from the knife crushing the leaves."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I oiled it up with 4 coats of John Taylor's Butcher Block Conditioner before using it, and it's looking pretty good. Just one thing to mention: After I oiled it, I wiped it down with a rag and noticed a few tiny splinters/fibers (like the size of thread or a hair, and some a little bigger) sticking up from the surface. Update: 5/25/2015. ====================. Had to drop one star because the cutting board needed additional sanding and oiling before it was ready for use. And finally a couple coats of the butcher block mineral oil, warmed slightly to help it soak in even deeper. Might seem strange to give 4 stars in a situation like this, but the rest of the quality of this board is still top-notch. It has remained perfectly straight (no teetering or warping), and the surface, even with all the expected hash marks from chopping, is excellent."
"I've used the knife for two days before getting annoyed and taking the pin out. I used to use a glass board for meat, since I didn't want to "contaminate" the "good one" so to say, but my knives took a beating as a result."
"I am a pretty serious cook and chop lots lots of vegetables almost daily. This is by far the best knife I have ever used - the balance in my hand is perfect and the weight is perfect as well - it almost seems to chop the vegetables for you!"
"The Cutting board is made Beautifully and We Love all Greener Chef's Products!"
"It is the sharpest knife in the rack, and best of all it cuts through everything as if cutting through soft butter, I would buy this set as a gift for my friends and family."
"The board is beautiful and solid."
"I *love* the products from Greener Chef."
